  1. I had something similar recently and narrowed it down to a loose Neutrik socket/plug connection. The socket is the dual type so used the jack section and the problem seems to have gone.
  2. Scott's an excellent guy to deal with, bought one of the original SWB-1 basses from him last year.
  3. Welcome to the forum.
  4. I used a short Comfort Strapp with the 34" scale fender jazz I had (about 9lbs) but moved to short scale basses (around 7lbs) and now use padded levy straps. Still have the Comfort Strapp an would sell for a moderate cost if you are interested.
  5. It was a Spector NS94 in black. Part ex'd it for a Fender Highway One Jazz as the band were playing more 50's and 60's stuff at the time and the Spector's sound was a touch to modern. The Spector played beautifully, still miss it.

    Spector

I had an NS94 and also have a 5 string Classic bolt on. The NS94 was an incredible playin bass and it never felt like a 34" scale. Only sold it because of the modern tone and the band moved to 50's and 60's stuff. The customer service from the factory is also second to non.
  7. Is this still available? BR Alan
  8. Just bought Alain's Boss TU3 excellent transaction a great guy to deal with.
  9. Ead, I'll take this off you if still available.
  10. Not had the volume difference on my ACG version ( and the guitar was built in Scotland ).
  11. Gigged a Blackline 250 through an Ashdown Mibass10 last night and it cut through the mix with remarkable ease and with room to spare (gain and master set at 12 o'clock - VLE/VPE off). The Scott Whitley SWB-1 I use is passive.
  12. Wonder why the Bass Player and Roadie ones are cheaper than the rest? Bargains?
  13. If you can find one I would suggest the Ashdown Mibass 10 or 12 inch cabs. There have been some in the classifieds recently.
  14. Well done. Sounds like a great place to work.
  15. Hi T-Bay, welcome from another South Staffordshire (I only live around 12 miles away) bass player (very loose term for my ability). Go for it and beat the problem, it will focus your practice and playing no end.
  16. Also look at Scott Whitley's web site as he has video lessons on the subjects thebigyin has discussed above. Above all tell your partner no to be worried and go for it.
  17. Leave Burntwood alone it's a fine place
  18. I chose my ACG for a few reasons. Although not a custom build but a stock 'prototype' it was exactly what I was looking for firstly short scale, 'real wood', great design and with the excellent comments from customers about Alan on this website it was a no brainer. The other thing is that when asking questions or looking for advice you are speaking directly to the person building the bass and you get the feeling the answers will be in your best interest. Its first class service. It also feels and plays better than any mass produced bass I have had.
  19. Unfortunately I think a lot of people forgot that for Brexit to work we have to buy more British goods. The good thing is that for bass guitars we have some first class manufacturers/luthiers in this country, just think of the ones on this site.
  20. 150 euros at Thomann according to the 'Buy At' Google link
  21. I am below average basically using root notes but try to lay down a good strong backline with the drummer. I am prepared to learn but just don't get the time. Been in a band for 15 years we have gigged and been paid and that is one of the things I wanted to do. Would love to be better and I practice when I can but most of all I enjoy playing at the level I am at but my aim is to improve if I can. I want to devote more time to music when I retire. Got to have a goal...
  22. How about a supply system mounted within a pedal board that utilizes plug-in connectors fed from a plug-in busbar system to feed standard pedals but also offers a backup supply (battery or ups), rcd and surge protection?
  23. Just looked it up on the t'internet - very nice... Have you decided on the full spec yet Mike?
  24. Have you got a particular bass in mind Mike?
