  1. Amazing!! I could happily stay there for a month with that setup. Any favourites?
  2. Love that riff Si! I have La Bella FL's on my Bruce Thomas Profile. Gorgeous through the Noble pre. Sean Hurley recommends wiping new flats with Vaseline to get that broken-in sound...has anyone tried that?
  3. Lucky you're not tempted by anything P related in green Karl! 😁
  4. For sale only: Fender Vintera 50s Sea Foam Green Precision with original Fender gig bag. Sale only, now £625 Gorgeous Precision along the lines of the classic 50s P. Wide but slim neck and strung with Fender flats (matching silks!) . Immaculate condition. Only bought a month ago but an incoming Jazz I've been after means one in, one out - but I'll be trying to get one of these again. Can courier in UK for £10. Location is Tonbridge, Kent; 15 mins from J5 M25. Payment by BACS, my feedback is in my signature. Cheers! Kev
  5. This looks like a bargainous way to sate my Jazz GAS.... any idea if the current crop of CV 60s are held in as high regard as these earlier ones?
  6. Pretty underwhelming. And a quick visit to snakechat.co.uk confirms that cobras aren't even blue.
  7. To honour all the under-the-radar NBDs I've had in the past, the signature on the headstock would be the same rapid squiggle I give UPS/Parcelforce etc. before rushing the box inside to hide it...
  8. NBD, Seafoam Green Fender Vintera P. Have restrung with Fender flats - will report back after band practice!

  9. Love those fingerboards! And that rendition of Peaches was spot on with the valve crunch
  10. Thanks for the excellent write up and photos Silvia, much appreciated!
  11. Hi, yes it is - but on holiday 'til Friday :). PM if you'ld like me to hold it.
  12. Beauty! What's the nut width and fingerboard radius please?
  13. Just sold a Custom Shop P to Mick, who drove to test and collect it - had a great chat about bass and music in general, and he's a fine player as well as a fine fellow! A very pleasant transaction, deal with full confidence. Many thanks Mick and enjoy playing
  14. +1, I run an XR18 for an in-house PA and the fact that each player can customise their own mix on the fly is very neat. Plus bags of DSP included. Only downer is that you need a separate power amp, but you could easily rack case a class D amp with the mixer for a light lift.
  15. Long answer here: https://www.soundonsound.com/sound-advice/q-why-do-i-need-use-di-box Short answer: if you're getting a decent sound (and no interference) don't worry. Amp/cab sim pedals like the Tech21 range are worth trying but simply for tone experimentation, rather than fixing something that is broken.
  16. Have played approx 50 pub gigs with a cheerful Behringer mixer/power amp and gear4music 12s with horns plus 2 basic active monitors. Band is vox/bass/keys/drums/sax/rhythm guitar. About £500 including stands. Vocals and keys only through the PA. If I bring a 1x15 I don't go through the PA, but did when I had a Barefaced 110. Our golden rules are: must be able to hear vox clearly, and people should be able to hear each other at at least some point in the pub (these aren't music venues as such :))
  17. @gorandelac lovely pair of Alembics there - is the 5 string an MK with Signature electronics? Oh and big thanks for the excellent video of your Series I on YouTube - a must watch for anyone considering an early Alembic!
  18. Lovely bass, this was pretty much new when I sold it to Mike recently. Looks even better with the tort! Cracking bargain, GLWTS
