1.
Pics not publicly available - needs sign-in.
Oops - now fixed, thanks
2. This is very useful info, thanks both for the details! @Sibob, the Sound On Sound review was particularly enthusiastic about the fact that with the Quantum, you do not have to deal with an internal mixer as well as the main DAW. Is that also the case with the Claretts?(BTW I'm a Scarlett 2i2 owner and love it )
3.
Having said that my attention has mostly been in this direction the last few days: http://www.degiergui...ulmate-gallery/ Especially here: http://www.degiergui...ortfolioCats=20
And the colour chart page now has me gassing for 'Turquoise Mist'!! 4.
Thanks, it's pretty easy on the eye.
Beautiful facings Jamie, and the red silks look great on it! What year..?
5. **NOW SOLD** For sale only: £150 Vintage Icon V74 fretless in full working order. Fantastic lined fretless starter bass, brought from a fellow basschatter earlier in the year. Strung with roundwounds and it does indeed 'mwah'! UK only as I have a box but no case. Insured courier £15, or collect from Tonbridge TN10. *EDIT - I will be away until Weds 18th* Pics: see here: https://www.flickr.c...th/37649929491/ , but apologies as either my camera or editing 'skills' have resulted in a black bar at the bottom of two of the pics - I assure you there is nothing to be censored there! Feedback link in my signature. Cheers!
6. I'm glad this is on hold! Not sure I could resist pairing it with 00196, its sonic blue brother
7. Morning all - would any Power bass owners happen to know if the neck heel joint is the same as a Fender P? I have a lovely amber tint maple board neck from a JP PB57, but it's too big for my Vintage V4. And that amber would look lush with the Islington blue or Wimbledon green... cheers!
8. Thanks for the hands-on review ! It got high praise in last month's Sound On Sound, but always nice to have that validated. Did you get a Thunderbolt PCIe card or are you running it through a Mac?
9. Bought Jack's Maruszczyk BassTank: superb condition and a proper hefty amp, but best of all had a great chat about bass, recording and DB. A true BC ambassador, thanks Jack!
10.
Sorry to hear that.. commiserations to you! Next year, hopefully?
Cheers - and yes, certainly hope so! Would love to hear some talented P players go through my Greenboy Dually
11. Aargh, pass denied, for something I really can't get out of. Gutted because this is shaping up to be excellent! Have a great time folks
12.
Plug in two basses simultaneously, one channel each? Yes, I've done that. Plug one bass into both channels simultaneously? I imagine so, but I've never done it!
Thanks Jack - tempting but will to get shifting some stuff first! GLWTS
13. Hi - is this the 4 or 8 Ohm version? Thanks!
14. Looks lovely - is it possible to use and blend both channels at once, for example plugging a Wal in via both XLR and jack? (sorry if I missed that on the Public Peace site!) Cheers Kev
15.
It's a Radiovox valve amp. 2 of them were made back in the 60s as part of a sound system, one for each channel. My brother has the other one. Sounds lovely with the bass, but it is 33.4kgs.
Cheers - love the look, very '50s sci-fi spaceship console. I was looking at a McIntosh 3500 on eBay recently, 55.7 Kg!
16.
Oh, I don't know about that... It sounds the biz too.
Ooh lovely! What is that..?
17. My recently acquired Olive Ash '86 MK I. In excellent condition, bought from the original owner. Still has the Bass Centre sticker on the back of the headstock
18. I'm tempted to try this via my Trace GP11 + power amp sending <250 Hz to my Greenboy Dually 215, and >250 Hz to an Ampeg 2x10. Would love to try it with a Greenboy Crazy 88 atop the Dually though
19.
I may have an unused panel mount XLR connector you can have, probably Neutrik. Is it male or female?
That's very kind, thanks MoonBassAlpha! It's female. But let me see if I can get the old one off first, as it appears to be involve much shenanigans to remove - will let you know after back from holiday mid-Sept. Cheers! PS Just spotted that's my 200th post, quite fitting that it should involve a 'thank you' to a member of this wonderful community
20.
wd40 do make a contact cleaner but servisol is the best
Yes, sorry - that's what I meant, the WD-40 'Specialist fast drying contact cleaner' variant. A good scrub has made things a bit better, but I suspect its the wobbly rear tab (the one nearest in the photo, with the loose glue) that is causing the hum problem/lack of volume. May need to swap out the whole connector, and maybe try and somehow save the green input socket 'cos it looks cool
21. Great bargain! I have 3 presets when using with my P: Motown, B15, and 'Yes', all from the manual. I just need to normalise the volume between them to avoid sudden swells and dips between songs. Handy having the two inputs if you want EUB/U-bass and electric bass available for the same set, each would have their own 3 presets.
22. OK, after opening the case and giving the connectors a good clean with WD-40 contact cleaner, I get a signal, albeit quite crackly. Seems to be the female XLR connector itself causing the crackles, because the jack input is soldered to the rear tabs of the XLR and there's no noise when playing through the jack. Now to find a thin pipe cleaner to scrub away the remaining crackle!
