1.
Trades? Thanks
Sorry, not this time
 2. NOW SOLD For sale (no trades thanks!) £470 Tecamp Puma 900 More pics here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/133089969@N07/albums/72157667833540600 Superb class D amp with both simple 'taste' control or more precise semi-parametric tone controls. Selling because I have decided to keep my Super Bassman 300T, and this is far too good to keep as a backup (which will now be undertaken by my Fender rumble combo) Full working condition, and excellent cosmetic condition. Gigged approx. 10 times. Includes the Tecamp softcase, also a speakon and the manual. Comes in original box. Courier £7.50 UK Location: Tonbridge, Kent. Thanks for looking!
 3. For sale only (no trades thanks!), £500 More pics here: https://www.flickr.c...th/27653357453/ Spec Fender Classic 50s Precision in Fiesta Red, i.e. one of these https://www.gak.co.u...iesta-red/20345

Body: Alder
Neck: 1-Piece Maple, "C" Shape, (Gloss Urethane Finish)
Fingerboard: Maple, 7.25" Radius (184 mm)
No. of Frets: 20 Vintage Style Frets
Pickups: 1 Precision Bass Split Single-Coil Pickup (Mid)
Controls: Volume, Tone
Pickup Switching: None
Bridge: American Vintage Precision®/Jazz® Bass
Machine Heads: Vintage Style Reverse Tuning Machines
Hardware: Nickel/Chrome
Pickguard : Gold Anodized Aluminum
Scale Length: 34" (863.6 mm)
Width at Nut: 1.750" (44.5 mm)
Unique Features: Vintage Styling, Anodized Aluminum Pickguard, Synthetic Bone Nut
Gauges: (.045, .065, .080, .100)
History and mods I bought this from eBay about a month ago. The stock pickpups are included with the sale, however I have fitted Fender 'Original Vintage pbass' pickups which have a fantastic full range to them: http://www.thomann.d...bass_pickup.htm . At the same time I swapped the rather flimsy stock pots for Fender CTS pots, and replaced the 0.1uF cap for a 0.047uF, as I found the tone rolled fully off with 0.1 to be too muddy. Rolled off now it gives thump without the mud. I redid all the pickguard screws with a Fender set, as some of them had a spot of rust/wear. Finally I added a Fender bridge ashtray/pickup cover, and a non-Fender maple thumbrest which complements the neck nicely. Strung with Fender Nickel roundwounds 7150M .045 .105 Note: no hardcase, but I will include a basic Ritter softcase. Condition See photos for a couple of body dings, also the ding on the edge of fretboard halfway between nut and first fret on G side. Sounds Full working order, sounds and plays beautifully. The new pots and pups really give a lovely range from grind to thump. The neck on these is very playable, don't be put off by the width! Selling because I already have one P, and now have non-P GAS... Courier Will be sent insured in a guitar box, well bubble-wrapped with the Ritter soft case. Probably £20 for mainland UK, but will quote accurately when required. Location Tonbridge, Kent. 20 Mins from J5 M25, trial welcome, but note I will be in and out of the country over the next couple of weeks. Thanks for looking!
 4. Thanks for the kind words folks - after a 90 minute noodle I've decided to keep, the overdrive channel is fantastic. First time I've had GAS for something I already own!
 5. SOLD Fender Super Bassman pro 300T 2015 model For sale only, no trades thanks! £1000 including insured UK courier, £950 collected Condition and history Fully working, purchased second-hand from Bass Direct in January. I have gigged it twice, the previous owner apparently did not gig it. More photos https://www.flickr.c...th/27661652900/ Comes with Fender footswitch (although note this is not the 'vintage' chrome footswitch that this model normally includes), leather sleeve cover, power chord, Fender instrument to Speakon cable. Selling because I bought this to compete with our band's super loud lead guitar - but that's no longer in the band, so this is overkill. It well and truly did the job when needed though! Overall impression Gorgeous passive Fender tonestack, and a useful overdrive channel with active mids, deep and bright boosts. Never struggled at all to compete with a noisy 7 (now 6!) piece band. Postage/collection Collection much preferred! Trial welcome, I have a 2x15 and a P bass, or bring your rig. I'm approx. 15-20 mins from J5 M25 in Tonbridge, Kent. But, it was couriered to me - so it can be done! Packed weight approx. 30 kg. , so I will need to source a suitable box. I can get courier quotes or let me know any preference.
 6. From last weekend - luckily we missed the hailstones! http://youtu.be/SEwq58WvoWw
 7.
Hello there, Was it the 62 reissues you replaced the originals with??? Cheers Ian.
Hi Ian - it was these: https://www.thomann.de/gb/fender_vintage_pbass_pickup.htm
 8.
I do hope you wear spändex on stage and do Spändau Ballet covers ...
Äbsölütelÿ We have great fun insisting that pubs spell us properly: "But how do you pronounce it?" (pause) "As it's written".
 9. We're Expändables (note umlaut) and have been listed as playing in a few festivals in San Diego. Which would be great if we could easily get there from Kent. So luckily our umlaut-less namesakes are an ocean and continent away. Bizzarely, most of our Facebook fans are from Indonesia, as I suspect they think we're the film franchise...
 10. I love my 79 P, despite it weighing so much that my collarbone cringes whenever I look at it. I swapped the pickups for Fender vintage reissues, as the originals weren't for me, and the growl and bite now is amazing - not sure if the weight contributes to that, but worth it if it does!
 11.
My criteria for playing a song is: it suits the band, we play it well and the audience likes it. Meet those 3 conditions and I'll play any song.
Agreed! The third is the tricky one: second-guessing the audience reaction after you've put so much work into the first two...I've been both pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised at what fills the dancefloor on the night.
 12. We're now up to 30 covers in our 7-piece band, and as you can imagine not all would make my personal playlist. I made it clear that I would never, under any circumstance, play one of my least favourite songs; one which made me cringe whenever I saw it performed by a troupe of middle-aged men and backing singers. I promised myself I would never be one of those middle-aged men. "Mustang Sally" During a moment of weakness/madness/drunkness I finally gave in. And you know what? It's quite fun to play; it's a good timing exercise, and relatively relaxed giving the fingers a break between faster numbers. So fire away with songs you can't stand but don't mid playing - and why!
 13.
This could be Morocco Red from the Fender a International colour series. There's some debate re: commencement dates, but I've seen Internationals advertised from '79 onwards - one of our Fender experts might be able to help?
There's a Morocco Red P on Andy Baxter's site at the moment and it does look very similar. But if I am reading the sales post correctly, this is a refinish and not the original colour, Basstardz is that correct?
 14.
shell pink is lighter I think - coral colour?
I was going to ask the same - my guess is Fiesta Red, but that could be my monitor? Lovely colour either way
 15. Gorgeous, I was GASsing after the Surf Green model!! Quick question, the lightweight models don't have the 'HRI' hum reducer. But is that a problem? With the Xotic build quality I can't imagine that it would be...
 16. Ross bought my Baer cabs - fast payment, kept in touch throughout, a perfect transaction and a nice guy. Many thanks! Kev
 17.
Hard to beat for VFM good ol' Tommy Walsh eh!
The entire range is up for a quid, I also got a 31-piece set of heads to dismantle an old PC. It could be that they are cheap because the packaging (or tools themselves) have no indication of sizing - but they do the trick!
 18. A mere quid for this lot at Poundland, which covers truss rod, string tree , pickups, pickguard, strap holders and bridge on a Fender P. You'll need to label them yourself, but a bargain for a decent rubber-handle set.
 19. Loved my MIM P, felt about half the weight of my '79 P, and best of all took a set of LaBella 1954 flats without warping the neck. And I hear great things about the classic and road worn Mexican builds
 20. No Jaki Liebezeit?!?!?! He'd have the best drumming surname on the list too!
 21. Thanks Deaver - yes, I can split; I have a potential buyer for both though. In case that sale is not confirmed I will let you know (and update the thread). Note I will be away (but with online access) from later today until Saturday 8th, so collection/delivery will be not possible over that period. Cheers!
 22. Shame mine's at the dry cleaners...
 23.
Indeed... I would imagine that, in the right circumstances, these would create a 'Storm Baer'!
Added the glowing review from Bass Gear magazine (http://epublish.panaprint.com/publication/?i=135014)
