3. Used for approx. an hour, in original packaging. .043, .056, .070, .100. A very high quality string but I'm sticking to rounds at the moment. £25 posted in UK, bank transfer or PayPal gift please. Cheers! Kev
4. M@23, sorry forgot to upload my settings! Here they are: The method I used to get there was watching the 'comp' light during a bassline which starts with a loud G on the E string, then a fiddly pull-off and hammer-on involving the D and A strings. Basically the hammer-on in particular was being overwhelmed, so I twiddled the threshold to make sure that the initial G was well compressed and the hammer-on not at all. Sounds much clearer now! Good luck with the gig - one other quirk is that the compressor light is VERY bright on a dark stage, so I sometimes put a bit of foam over it.
5. I've been a MB Compressore user for about one year now, including five pub gigs. I play a Sandberg California VS (P bass) through a Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.2 and two Baer ML112 cabs to cut through vocals, two guitars, sax, harmonica and piano. The music is blues/upbeat rhythm & blues (Gary Moore, Nine Below Zero, etc.) and I just use the Compressore to take some mud out of fast lines and to tame the E string and hence avoid overpowering low frequency boom. Lots of tweakability, and very quiet, only minor downer is that it runs on an 18V PSU only (which is provided). PS before anyone reading this thread gets a compressor they should read the Ovnilab site, contains the most detailed reviews I've seen for both the Markbass and MXR (and loads others!!!): http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/markbass.shtml http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/mxrbass.shtml
6. Fantastic seller, really detailed descriptions and in touch every step of the way - the EBMM Reflex I bought off Gareth was really in showroom condition and well packaged. Thanks again!
7. Also on eBay but £50 cheaper on here bump!
8. 'Haven't got around to putting it on eBay yet' bump
9.
I wonder what people mean by 'boom'... I would call it just a bassier sound which you might want to roll off,
Good point! "Distorted throbbing bass especially in the room corners" is what I meant (need a catchy term for that...)
No boom, no gamma, but the 212 and 210 stood on the 212 casters. Best sound I've had for ages, loved it.
Amen to that. Dodgy room cured by decoupling.
10. The vertical ML112 stack worked brilliantly, thanks for the tip Roger! I didn't get to hear myself through it from the front of house (obviously) but the support band's Jazz bass was one of the best bass sounds I've heard.
11.
If only you'd trade for me markbass F1 GLWS
Cheers! But already Genz Benzed up Bump with new piccies of the unit.
12. Bump for tomorrow night! First band likely to be on about 730 (despite what the poster says )
13.
I would recommend taking the Eden out of its rack and putting it on the ML112's stacked vertically. You will notice a difference in low end response due to the decreased coupling with the floor. Keep in mind that you are always going to run into bass frequencies building up in the corners of a room. Some rooms will be worse than others.
We're playing the same pub tomorrow evening Roger, so I'll give that a go - cheers PS just to add the Baers are always excellent, it's just this particular room that's a problem!
14. ** NOW SOLD** Sale only: An Eden WT550 'The Traveler' head for £400 couriered in original packaging UK Purchased new in May 2013 from Nevada Music, excellent fully working condition, tube just replaced for a Hotrox-tested EH 12AX7. This is one of the 'Assembled in China under Eden supervision' models. Has been gigged three times but always in the rack bag (and carefully carried!). Reason for sale is that I prefer to use two channels so have picked up a Genz Benz Shuttlemax. The Eden has an excellent EQ section including three mid bands. Single Speakon, which I used to daisy chain two 8 Ohm cabs for 4 Ohm load. Comes with rack ears and screws plus manual. Feedback: http://basschat.co.u...235157-kevsy71/ (just the one so far!) Will be couriered to UK. Or you can collect and I'll knock a tenner off - approx. 10 mins from J5 M25 in Hildenborough, TN11 9ED (near Tonbridge/Sevenoaks). Happy to demo the unit. Thanks for looking! Kevin

I sold Freddie an Aguilar head - fast, polite and trouble free, highly recommended
16. Rock, rhythm and blues covers from Expändables, Elm Street Groove and Reverb - all for free at The Flying Dutchman, Hildenborough (near Tonbridge). Say hi if you come, I'll be playing bass for Expändables.
17. Last gig was in a low ceilinged pub, rectangular room divided by a brick fireplace. I had two Baer ML112s on the hard floor, horizontally stacked, approx. 30cm from the wall. Low bass (30Hz) was cut, slight boost at 250Hz, slight cuts at 800Hz and 2KHz. A bassist in the audience said there was distortion and bass pooling, especially in the corners. We're playing there again in two weeks, so having read the advice I'm raising the stack. And only using what I rescued from the garage: a length of pine, an old shelf, and two floor mats from a 2005 Vauxhall Zafira 1.6i. It takes the weight fine! Just needs a sanding and lick of paint (and a way to get that Baer logo straight on the cab cover!). Cost breakdown: £0.00 Old shelf £0.00 Spare length of pine (although you can get them for about £2.50) £0.00 Spare screws and nails £2,495.00 Vauxhall Zafira 2005 1.6i Will let you know how it gets on...
