1. You need a mechanics degree & a user's manual just to play that bass!!! I can be impressed by it all, but find it self-indulgent and relates little to what I do. G.
2. Alternatively, players who don't turn up!!!! We've (see my rant about lack of drummers in North Notts) arranged at least two rehearsals at hired room where the drummer for audition simply didn't show. Not a word. Nix. G.
3. Try a Marshall Guv'nor II - it has a 4 band EQ. G.
4. Not if Frank was his uncle!!!! Sorry! G.
5. Bassist & guitar/vocals doing Floyd/Bowie/Sting/& slight off-centre stuff need decent drummer for power trio. Based in Carlton, Nottingham. Geoff
6. I had the 4x10 version of this & it made a great guitar amp. Bump!! G.
7. Bass straight into amp for me too, although I do have a 5 band parametric in the loop. G.
8. You could also look at a s/h Peavey Cirrus BXP. Excellent. I can get *near* MM & P tones from mine. G.
9. I was in Abu Dhabi last year and there were a few there. The one I was in had most well-known makes, but specialised in Cort (surprisingly good) and had a good ranger of prices. G.
10.
It's very good. Not what you want to know but...

Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, but you can start a little later and/or finish a little earlier
On the website, it says you can make a standard precision or jazz style bass with a simple lacquer finish - you do have some freedom to make something a little more sophisticated, but there is only so much time.
You make the body, neck and fingerboard from raw wood.
Wood and hardware is high quality.
Typically use light machinery and hand tools
You'll make mistakes

Not enough time to make a 35" scale neck-through 5 string Jazz, then? G.

If...

If you're anywhere near me, I'd help you do it. G.
12. I rather like these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PURPLE-CELTIC-GUITAR...id=p3286.c0.m14 I have about 5 in various colours...... G.
13. No-one's commented on the obviously askew nature of the actual serial number........................ G.
14. I have one of these - in fact, bigger brimmed if anything: G.
15. My recommendation would be to go back & view the 1st series of theTV version of 'Mash' & see what 'Henry' is wearing........... G.
16. So, if I want to put some padding round the inside of my recent cab, what should I use and is it available from B&Q? G.
17. I've got a *wide* P bass-type neck logo'd 'Gould' - decent enough neck, but probably too wide for you. However, give me a shout if you're interested. G.
18. Looks fiddly but isn't. Remove string & hook ball end of new string undr & back. Hooks in quite nicely. G.
19. I've got a Burns Double Six 12 string, which, I believe, has the same body, pretty much. I find the body to be very similar in size to a Jazz. Here's a pic along with a Jazz & a Strat. G.
20. I recently got a Cirrus BXP which is 35". I normally play(ed) a much modded Hohner B Bass V. I really didn't have much trouble going from 34 to 35 - I under-reached for about 2 minutes. Oddly, I notice it much more coming from 35 to 34. G.
