1.
I was GASing for a Bass Pod Live and I'm reliably informed that there is one on its way to me as we speak
lol.... most certainly is. Oh.. i almost forgot, I'll PM you the tracking number!
  2. I've admitted to myself that I've got a serious GAS problem, so I've erased my entire GAS list before I do my bank balance any more damage. I do need a lightweight 1x10 cab for more practical reasons though, so I'll get that and sit on my gear for a while. I'm thinking Epifani UL-110 or EBS Neo 1x10. Should be getting one today after a trip to the Bass Gallery.
  3.
Here is the link. An email address is provided. Might be a nice brotherly gestures towards those who although less fortunate are trying to enjoy the pleasures of making music. http://acapella.harmony-central.com/showthread.php?t=746304
Wow... thanks for that. I've always end up with a huge pile of strings too. Maybe you should put this as a post in it's own right somewhere, that way everyone here knows.
you know the quote button, the one next to the reply button under each post in a thread? Well, what does it do, other than turn red when you click it? (seriously, my computer knowledge is almost as basic as my bass knowledge)

Now you see, I pressed it under your post and quoted you ^^ in my reply. You should also be able to do multi quotes by pressing the quote button under various posts in a thread and then 'add reply' (and then you can edit away and delete the non-relevant bits, and check it in 'post preview' to make sure it looks how you would like it to before you press 'post reply'). Or something like that
Ah... like this? You learn something new every day!

Damn! That was great! Thanks for sharing that...
  6. Oh wow... I didn't know they made SRs with that pup config. I think I would prefer it that way TBH. Looks very nice. Maple on maple with back scratchplate is my favourite colour scheme.
  7. Wow... that's got me wanting to try out some fanned fret stuff. That bass looks cool, esp the headstock. Very interesting!
  8. I like basschat.co.uk. Has a nice informal tone to it. But since everyone is putting suggestions of names down, I'll put down bassplace.co.uk. Rolls nicely off the tongue.
  9. That's pretty cool! And everything seems to be documented.
  10.
In my house 7 basses are the maximum. You see, I've got 14 at the moment but don't tell her indoors - she thinks that I've only got half that number. Now this is how the con works, what I do is put 7 cases containing basses behind 7 basses on stands and make out that the cases are empty and for the basses on the stands - clever huh! So the official line is that 8 basses are too many in Woodenshirt Towers. There again, she ain't that stupid so she most likely knows what I'm doing and is probably just humouring me........ Mart
lol! Brilliant... though mind you, I hope for your sake that Mrs woodenshirt doesn't pop by these forums.

  12. I feel bad when I neglect some of my bass guitars, hence why I'm moving on a few. I'm not sure how many is too many. I'd say anything over 5 is just a little, because I think 5 would allow sufficient cover for any situation.
  13. Tasteful is the word to describe John Deacon.
  14.
The other option is to not bother with a cab and just DI out of your amp.
Yep... that is the ultimate in portability. If I know a venue has decent monitoring I just plug in, before via my Line 6 Bass Pod, but now I shall be using my EBS Multibass II. You could also check out the MXR and Sansamp DIs too. I believe that Crazykiwi may have a Warwick Neo combo for sale if I remember correctly.
  15. Well my main bass spot of my Warwick Thumb is being closely contested by my new Fender Jazz... two completely different beasts I know. I'm giving my Thumb a rest to put the Jazz through its paces. May take that prized spot.
Water Rats Rehearsal Studios in Surrey - went to something there before and it was OK but we'd probably need 2 rooms... Here's a link: http://www.waterrat.co.uk/?gclid=CI6M7LuYlowCFRooEAodfR83eA
Yeah... that sounds good! I expect this to be cheaper than ACM. Close to the train station is fantastic for me. Hopefully by then I'll have my lightweight rig sorted and could bring it by train.
  18.
I think it's a good idea, and the "one lick" suggestion got me all hot under the collar.
I of course meant "look"... but licking is good. =
  19. Hey... I was wondering if it would be a better system to leave feedback by leaving comments on the user profile. That way everybody has a "feedback thread". Also, you wouldn't have to go searching for the person's thread. Just one lick on their user profile. Just a suggestion... what are your thoughts?
