Thanks for that Cosmo.
I think there may be more footage of it on the DVD that came with the Fish Out of Water remaster - will have a rummage
Would be a great little project wouldn't it - has definitely got me thinking now !
Just bought an EBS DynaVerb from Paul. Pedal arrived next day and in mint condition as described. Can certainly recommend him as a chap to do business with
Thanks Paul !
Bill
Interesting.....
I think I'd rather go for the beast that Chris Squire put together in the very early 70's

.....so two 50's pickups, with some interesting control cavity action going on (!) and an old style bridge.
Would be kinda cool to put something together like that !
Lovely bass - what about sticking some flats on her as a first measure and then having a look for some passive pick-up/circuitry combos - give Andy at Wizard pickups a call ?
I've got some flats on a Lakland LOG 5-string (55-64 I believe they call the 5-string Bob Glaub nowdays) by the way - Killer reggae bass !
Warwick Alien Standard 4 ??

I'm sure they do a fretless too - put some flatwounds on it - bingo !
Tom bought a Danelectro (Dead on 58) bass from me - paid promptly and with great comms - so can recommend him very highly indeed !
Hope you enjoy the bass.....

Love Hurts - the Nazareth cover - Fender Musicmaster
My history teacher wrote out the chords to play over......
As I remember, I soon got into learning Stranglers tunes thereafter as JJB was my hero back then
Happy days......

I know the German ones are north of £2.5k but the Korean Pro Series ones are about half that.
I feel GAS developing - doh !
Anyone tried a Korean Pro Series Thumb or Streamer yet ?
I wonder if anyone would get around to making these beasties again. I'm sure marathons could be made very inexpensively - maybe your man who gets Burns guitars made in the far east could be persuaded ??
Don't know if it's the crappy speaker in my iPad but Geddy's bass sound makes my Status sound 'mellow'
Maybe you need a subwoofer for your iPad..............don't think the audio came from the mixing desk..........probably from the crappy microphone in gadget of whoever filmed it.
As someone who knows nothing about Geddy Lee what's new??
His Jazz now has a neck with pearl blocks instead of the usual black ones. Last tour I believe he used a Japanese GL neck and got his roadie to take some of the varnish off the back.......
Sounds like a plan to me - that's assuming you feel the RW needs the fretwork. What about messing with the action, relief and intonation first ?
If still not happy after that then do it.
What about after that ? - pickups, pick-up cover, pots, wiring......
Good luck in your "CS" search
I take it you've seen this ?

A nice series of videos that show off how good they sound....
Thanks for posting - wonderful basses.
I remember falling in love with a white fretless Marathon in Glasgow in the early eighties.
Was lucky to have to have owned a fretless six string Marathon - same colour as your Modulator. One of those instruments you definitely regret selling on.....
Would love to get a double neck - will need to update my searches on flea-bay !
There seems to be a different valve amp coming out of the woodwork every week - not so for us bass players.
I know the physics/electronics means in reality we need more power than our high pitched cousins...... but.........
Are there any guitar amps out there that could cut the mustard as bass amps - I'm sure there are some Marshall or Hiwatt amps out there that are more than up for the job. Equally, are there any (inexpensive) valve amps out there that could be modded ?
Great stuff ! - I love all this talk of building your own beast.
I'd love to do the course that John Shuker provides - buidling your own bass from scratch .

Appears to be offering a course on set-up and slight mods/repairs as well......
