Gallien-Krueger 410MBE-II 4x10" 800-Watt Neo Cabinet w/Horn 4-Ohm Hi everyone £220 I am putting up for sale my Gallien-Krueger 4x10 cab, it's the 4ohm version. A great one cab solution to get the full power from most amp heads. It's light one handed carry at 47lbs and super loud at 800w. I have run an Ampeg svt3 pro, Orange Terror 500 and a Markbass Little Mark 3 through it and they all sounded great. I think these cabs have been discontinued and replaced with the CX range in recent months as I can't find them on the GK site. I bought the cab just over a year ago from SoundsLive, it was about £340. Its been knocked when lifted around on and off stages when gigging but nothing major. The black coating on the wood seems prone to cracking and flaking so the pictures below show that. Just being honest! The sound is immense though and thats what matters! I think the price is fair. I'm selling as I am not in a band anymore so I don't need an 800w cab! Going to get a couple of single 12" cabs eventually instead. I don't have the packaging so ideally the buyer will collect from Wakefield, West Yorkshire. I could meet within a reasonable distance as I am right next to the M1(J38) and close to the M62(J25). Here are some more details - http://www.sweetwate...l/410MBE-II4800 The pic below shows one of the corners, it looks like the wood is broken but it isn't, it's just the black cab coating that has cracked. All other corners are fine. Thanks for looking! Julian

Ah the Snooty Fox in Wakefield. That place is the scene of my first ever gig in a proper big misters pub, January 1993. It was called The Post Haste back then and along with Players bar it was the best place in Wakefield for a young (underaged!) band to cut their teeth playing live. I haven't been for a few years, I think that the nostalgic part of me wants to preserve it in my mind how it was. Hope you had a good gig BigRedX!

I love Stingrays right up until I own one and then I find myself going back to the Precision. I have owned 2 different Stingrays, a 2eq and a 3eq. They sounded great but I just didnt like how they sat in the mix.

Hi everyone I was in PMT Leeds yesterday sizing up things that I can't afford when I saw one of these reduced to £199 due to a couple of scratches on the headstock. Can't find it on the PMT site but here it is at another retailer http://www.soundsliveshop.com/p/Stagg_EDB_34_Black_Electric_Double_Bass/STAGG-EDB34?CAWELAID=1830896336&CAGPSPN=pla&gclid=CNS3v6egi8ICFfLJtAodviIAww If anyone is after a starter EUB then thats a bargain! If I had the cash I would have snapped it up. Will post in the EUB forum too. Julian

A band I uses to be in supported them on their Everybody Loves a Happy Ending UK 2005 tour. He used to stand outside each venue smoking with us. Good bloke, he used a violin bass on that tour from what I can remember. I was not really a fan before then but I am now.

Waitresses, Christmas Wrappin' notation please
interpol52 replied to stingrayPete1977's topic in General Discussion
Anyone else think that the notation sounds a bit 'off' in bars 18 and 19 and then when that phrase is repeated throughout the song? Sounds like a hammer-on then pull off from f# to g and back to f# again to my ears, the notation has that open g to 2nd fret a and then back to open g. I could be wrong though, I am half deaf... -
Top bloke! Mike bought a Seymour Duncan pickup from me in the easiest of transactions. A pleasure. Cheers mate!

Alan bought a Squier Jazz neck from me and was a great bloke to deal with throughout. Paid when agreed and some good conversation along the way. Top!

Just a quick one to say what a top bloke Tim is to deal with. Great communication, good conversation and paid instantly. The deal we organised didn't end up going through in the end due to issues on my side but Tim was a gent throughout, event when I had to pull out of the transaction. Top basschatter!

Hello everyone! Here is a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz bass loaded body for sale. It is near mint (I cant find a flaw in it but don't want to describe it as mint just in case!). Pickguard, bridge and pickups included. It has a KiOgon wiring kit installed too. Perfect if you have a bitsa Jazz in mind! Polka dot tablecloth not included! £90 posted. Thanks for looking! I sent John a message about grounding kits. Instead of trying to sell me one he asked what the issue was, gave me advice on how to fix it (it worked) and sent some foil out free of charge! Legend!

Bar Gigging, Why Do We Love It? / Why do We Hate It?
interpol52 replied to blue's topic in General Discussion
If I look back at all the gigs I have done, from the Hammersmith Apollo to the Slug and Lettuce then I can put gigging into some kind of perspective. I like everything up until the last note is played, good crowd or bad crowd, bad sound or good. There tends to be something that you have a good natter about after, and isn't that what its all about? The bad gigs make the good ones feel even better. -
I like the last one. My favourite bass at the moment is a Squier VM Jazz. It seems like if we just go by the sound of the VM Squiers then they are difficult to knock. The thing I have found though is that if you look at build quality and the overall finish, then you start to see where the difference is. In no way though is there an £900 difference in a Squier VM Jazz and a USA Standard. Just my opinion.

Manic Street Preachers - Gold Against the Soul. Not their best work by any means but the bass tone, especially on Sleepflower, is amazing to my ears. Sugar - Copper Blue. Good old P bass with a pick. A Good Idea has a nice bass tone on the intro.

I had one of these in the mid nineties. I played it through a Trace rig. It was a great sounding setup. Did a gig once at The Duchess in Leeds and even the soundguys complimented the bass sound. That doesn't happen very often does it?!
