Chris is great. I've been friends with him for about 25 years. He's a grouch, but knows his stuff inside out, and he's been an absolute star to me for the past quarter century.
My fretless McIntyre Jazz Bass is a dream to play.
Actually, the strings were originally on my through body P-Bass, so there will be no problem with the strings being long enough to run through the body, and still be long enough to reach over the nut.
Anyone want a used set to try out?
I used a little spacer behind the bridge to ensure that the string end winding at the ball end didn't sit over the E string saddle (I've included the spacer with the strings).
Usual Kev offer - free of charge, and free delivery to your place (within the UK).
I'm going to see Steely Dan tomorrow at The Hydro in Glasgow.
Wanted to see Cory Wong next week in Glasgow too, but it's sold out (plus I'm absolutely skint until payday!! So that would have been a washout anyhow! Hahaha)
I've got the same notification.
I've ready got a copy from the initial run, it's a gorgeous book (and very big!!). It's well worth the wait. I ordered another copy in case I need a last minute bass related present for someone!!
Tears For Fears / Alison Moyet at The Hydro in Glasgow last night was a belter of a gig.
Fantastic sound. Audience up on their feet for the sets of both acts. Pity the O2 in London didn't seem to have the same atmosphere?
I bought it at £18, and re-ordered another copy when it was advertised at £15 (just on case I need a quick gift for someone).
I'm happy to wait until the new print run is available. It's a fantastic bass book.
As I'm now an oldie, I often take my hand off the neck when playing an open string - just so I can adjust my glasses when I feel them slipping down my nose.
I've actually just found my padded bag of leads and cables here at home!!
Were they beside the rest of my gear in my storage cupboard? Nope! Were they beside my guitar bits and pieces? Nope!
So, where were they? I found the bag on the top of my kitchen fridge / freezer! I've still no recollection of putting anything up there!!???
I've just realised that all of my kettle leads have been left in a padded bag at my last gig. Called the venue but the errant bag is nowhere to be seen!
I've now found that no one local seems to sell IEC "kettle" leads!! Just had to order a bundle from an Ebay seller.
There is so much history behind the Strats
The black Strat was obviously his main guitar for the classic albums, and was used for the Pink Floyd reunion set at Live 8.
The White Strat obviously has historical interest due to the 0001 serial number. Plus he used it on the Strat Pack anniversary concert at Wembley Arena.
The Red Strat was his main guitar during the Division Bell era, plus it was the guitar he used when he played at Live Aid in 1985.
