2. Sorry bud, the Time Machine and the Classic Albums - 2112/ Moving Pictures DVDs have both been snapped up.
3. Anyone want this DVD as a freebie? "As new" condition. If so, just drop me a PM.

5. Anyone want the Time Machine DVD as a freebie? I never watch it. If so, just drop me a PM.
6. If you leave the finish for another few eeeks, it'll be absolutely fine mate.
7. I tried the T.I.s myself and really disliked them. The tension was too rubbery for me, and I didn't like the sound. I prefer flats that give a big fundamental "boom" rather than the Thomastik's "dunk".
8. How do you find the flat fingerboard when playing?
9. Can't remember if I've posted a pic of my pink P-Bass? So, just in case I haven't, here it is: I used it for recording last week - at the studio of Wet Wet Wet's guitarist Graeme Duffin. It's a converted building literally 5 minutes from my house. The engineer, Sandy, who worked on the Wets' hits loved the instrument's sound, which was a really nice compliment.
10. For me it was Jean Jacques Burnel from The Stranglers. I heard that grunty P-Bass and thought "I want to do THAT"! Then, on New Year's Eve 1981 I went see The Police in concert at the Ingliston Exhibition Centre in Edinburgh. The support band was Jools Holland just after he'd left Squeeze. The bass player was an unknown guy who just blew my mind. I'd never seen anyone play with such dexterity before. It completely changed my perception of what a bassist could be. The player? A young Pino Palladino.
11. Great! I love seeing instruments take shape.
12. When applying the decal, be careful as the Rothko ones are very thin, so they can tear easily. When theyre on the headstock, they may look a bit wrinkly, but thst disappears as the water evaporates. To seal the decal in place, apply very light mist coats over it once its dried out. If you apply too much lacquer / finish, the decal will wrinkle up again. be careful, and take your time, and you'll end up with a fantastic lookjng headstock mate.
13. Headstock front has been shaped, and the front position pearl dot markers have been installed. Next up will be installing the black side dots, radius the fingerboard, drilling the stepped tuning head holes, then profiling the rear of the neck. 14. There's a couple of sellers who provide various sized shipping boxes for guitars and basses. Might be worthwhile getting one from them? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=281169544583 http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=331015851610
15. Yeah, get a face mask. The first finish I did using nitro, I didn't use one and I ended up in hospital every couple of days for around 3 weeks as my breathing stopped. Turns out that it was a combination of the fine overspray congealing in my lungs, and a reaction to the fumes. No fun!!!! And the conditionninly happened about 3 weeks after the spraying was compkete. Be careful.
16.
How much was the neck by the way? I need a couple of necks made for 2 projects i'll be building as I can't seem to find a maple P bass sized neck anywhere with black dots and binding as well as a skunk stripe on the back Cheers!
Drop Chris an email. Each neck is considered on its own merits.
17.
Another build? You got time on your hands again Kevin? Ha ha. Enjoy it mate :-)
Hahaha - yup, when there are no gigs to keep me occupied, the downtime causes me to think, "what's next on the build front"?
18. Ron Kirn simply takes standard Fender neckplates and stamps whatever you want onto them. They're expensive for what they are, but it's a nice finishing touch. If you're looking to get something engraved onto your own plate, drop an email to some local jewellers, you might find that they'd do nit for a reasonable price?
19. I just wanted a number that was like a '66. I could have had an "R" prefix one like a Custom Shop instrument, but I just thought I'd do the same as Paul's for a bit of fun. There was no real reason behind using the same one as his, I just needed a suitable number, and as Paul was at the other end of the phone, I simply asked him what his number was.
