  1. I've loaned out basses to friends in big bands, with no problems (Jamiroquai, Aswad, Rod Stewart, etc, etc). Nice guys, who were appreciative of the help, and who looked after the instruments. Sometimes, however, the user can be a bit "amiss" in their care of the borrowed bass. I loaned a bass to a player in a BIG group (probably as big as it's possible to get), and the bass arrived back home with dents on the back of the neck, and the nitrocellulose lacquer chipped off in a few places. Looked like it had been clumsily rested against the edge of a table top or similar on more than one occasion. I had to steam the wood dents out, and then re-finish the rear of the neck. Oh well, one of those things I guess. It's no fun when your well looked after equipment takes a beating from someone else, huh?
  2. Clue most definitely required for this one

  5. It's a bassline free for all! Pile on! Bundle!!
  6. I'm sure Bob Marley would have liked the band in question!
  7. While we're waiting
  8. One of the most easily recognisable basslines ever
  9. I'm stumped
  10. Another sloppily recorded one to keep things rolling along (Johnny Wishbone you're up next!)

  15. Sorry matey, my old brain can't keep track with what's happening on the electric webbernet thingy.
  16. Clue definitely required as the last clip seems to have killed the thread mate! Hahaha
  17. Clue definitely required
  18. I'm torn between Phil Lynott - great player and top bloke, Steve Harris, and John Entwistle..... However, I have to say. For that great Rotosound "bark and bite" it has to be Geddy Lee - what a tone!!!
  19. Jean Jacques Burnel was the reason I wanted to play bass. I still love that grunty, clanky, P-Bass sound. The first two albums had some some fantastic tracks on them (as well as some real clangers!!). However, my favourite album of theirs is still Black And White
  20. Bingo! The David Brent tune.
  21. Okay, to keep it going...
  22. Clue for my previous post - where some insects kept their spare change
