  1. Well, the cab was picked up by UPS on Thursday and was delivered on Friday. Alan planned to use it on a gig last night. Hopefully he'll be happy with the Accugroove. All being well, the deal should be completed next week. Yippee! We're such a trusting lot here on Basschat, huh? Hahaha
  2. Yippee! It'll be a laugh trying to get it into the boot of my convertible Peugeot 307! Hahaha Saying that, getting my double bass into the car has me dropping the roof, inserting the bass and closing the lid up like a huge gift box! Hahaha
  3. Cab is being picked up tomorrow by the courier for delivery on Friday
  4. I was just thinking - I started playing bass 31 years ago aged 16 and through all the ups and downs I've experienced in my life, playing bass has been the most consistent refuge for me. I love being a bassist!!!
  5. To the original poster, mate, you sound like a real knob! I pop into the forum every now and then, and everything I have advertised for sale has been snapped up quickly. Some have actually been sold within 15 minutes!! I've also bought numerous items too. Maybe the reason no one bought your stuff is due to it being of little or no interest to the browsers? Or maybe it wasn't priced to sell? Or maybe your attitude turned people off? Just saying matey...........
  6. Other offers also received. I'm sure this cab will make someone very happy.
  7. On hold pending a 'can I think about it overnight and let you know tomorrow Kev?' PM
  8. Hi guys, I'm downsizing my rig and have my Accugroove Tri210L for sale. This cab has never been out of my house since I bought it, so it's completely scuff free. I'll get some pics posted in a couple of hours when I get home. I'm looking for £450 delivered overnight in the UK. The cab cost me £960 when I bought it. I've decided to go for two Aguilar GS112 cabs hence the Accugroove being put up for sale.
  9. Bass is now repaired and set up. Hopefully gonna pick it up later today. Instruction to self - 'don't stand it up against the car and don't drop it!!!!'
  10. Call Martin! I'm sure he will be happy to discuss what can be done to get the pot replaced.
  11. Call Martin Peterson at The Bass Gallery in Camden. He'll get it sorted for you. The number is 0207 267 5458. Tell him I said 'hello'.
  12. Hahaha. When I pick it up I'll be super careful with handling it. I've also forewarned my 8 year old son that he'll be in the back seat behind me making sure the bass doesn't move in transit!!!
  13. Easy beginner double baselines - Stand By Me, king Of The Road, Englishman In New York, Walk On The Wild Side. All easy lines to pick up and get you used to the feel of your new upright bass
  14. Oooh! That looks great!!! I love the back of the neck - cool!!
  15. I was gonna take pics of "how I managed to get my double bass into my car" for my disbelieving friends. However, when you know the bass is in bits under the covers, it kind of ruins the fun of documenting the process, huh? Here's the bass 2 minutes after I had bought it - 1 minute after it had smacked the head off the kerb. I didn't think it mattered if I had leaned it up against the car again at this point as the damage had already been done - Aaagh!! To get the bass into the car I had to drop the roof and fold down the passenger seat
  16. Just noticed that when the bass slid sideways along the car to it's demise, the headstock hit the rear quarter of my car and dented it also!! Once again - AAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!
  17. Ah, I see! My workmates were coming up with gens such as "is there a SINGLE bass then?"
  18. I was discussing my double bass 'bash it up' woes with some of the folks at my work. Someone asked 'why is it called a DOUBLE bass?'. I was stumped for an answer. Can anyone enlighten me as to why it's called this?
  19. Actually, you know what? I'm still delighted to be getting back into the double bass. Even with this upset, it's still a great instrument to play.
  20. Just picked up the bass quiver from my Royal Mail sorting office. Absolutely immaculate condition. Thanks again matey, you're a star!
