[/quote] Sounds like thumbpick is the way to go then, good luck, take it steady! P.S the mistake a lot of people make with a pick is plucking it too hard, which can be fun too, but you usually get a better tone if you pick it softly - more roundy. And that should ease your discomfort also.

I've played with a pick for ages, there are options but this is what I find best and may work well for you: Hold as in the picture below. Use something like a .73 nylon with grippy surface. You [b]don't[/b] need to grip it hard and holding it as in the picture will help as you will be holding a larger surface area. Use a guitar pick not a 'bass' pick. Learning alternate picking (up/down/up/down) will reap long term benefits!

Problem with Gumtree and Preloved is there is no feedback. Aside from the fees (which are stupidly large these days for sellers), I've had very few negative issues buying or selling via ebay as long as you deal with people that have decent feedback. Zero feedback bidders/sellers are usually trouble. If I'm buying a large item (like a guitar) I'll always PM the seller and ask if I can have a quick chat about the item - you can tell loads by talking to someone, and often this is the best way to make a cash deal where everyone's a winner! (no fees for the seller who can just withdraw the item, and cheaper for the buyer). p.s. camdenrob - I don't want to say the wrong thing here but thefretboard forum is good for guitar cab sales.

It's still in beta but it's the one they are recommending all users work with, but I had loads of problems with it - double/triple/quadruple notes all stacked on top of each other, note offs, glitchy etc. I was only half impressed, however I downloaded the original V1 yesterday and that is miles better in my opinion. It has slightly more latency but doesn't suffer from any of the issues I was getting in V2. For me V1 is fantastic!

Pro DJ / Club mixer with 3 phono, 5 line, 2 mic, built in sampler/FX, and outboard send/return. This has a brand new crossfader (genuine part) just fitted (old one worked fine but the top had snapped off). Some light surface wear but all works great. I am second owner, previous owner was a bedroom DJ, since I've had it it's not been out of the studio - only used to hook up my one turntable and CD so it's overkill for my needs. Fitted heavy duty flight case included (barely used). However these days I like so [i]little[/i] overdrive that I just use a tiny bit of my Fulltone OCD pedal, and the OD-9 doesn't get out much.

Just saw this guitar advertised on thefretboard, it does have a floating bridge but it has the d tuner which apparently means you can flip between drop D and standard in an instant.
