1. ah of course i thought it was the other way round, and i have occasionally tweaked my trussrod so i should remember these things!...
2. out of interest, what would be the issue with just removing the shims and turning the truss rod counter clockwise to remove the overly concave neck? i'm not an expert at these things.
3. i doubt i would have noticed the truss rod issue so i'm glad you have cured my minor case of GAS for this
4. i was hoping the album would be 9 similar dancefloor disco inspired hits but it's not... not really liking it to be honest.
5. i think he's just got carried away with pound notes flashing in his eyeballs... he obviously had a lot of calls when it was on for 350, then doubled the price and had no offers, now he's settled on half way... hmmm.... i did call him when it was re-listed, and he seemed fine to talk to, but then i changed my mind about going to see it. i don't think its a scam, but the guy is obviously not the most reliable (trustworthy?) person. the item itself seems to be for real. caution advised! gumtree is full of this nonsense.
6. i work next door to this lot and they do a very good job at good prices! screen print, heat press, embroidery too. http://www.spinnakersports.co.uk
7. I agree, sell it. I'm considering selling one of my two basses purely to avoid the ongoing 'i like X on this one, and Y on the other one'...
8. Grega bought my Brown Dog Fuzz. Very nice guy to deal with, a smooth deal, thanks
9. I'm looking for a good quality recording studio that isn't going to cost the earth. I'd be looking to hire a session drummer, and possibly some other players, so primarily I'm looking to get a good drum recording. Studio would need an in-house engineer I could work with. I wondered if anyone has recorded at any places they could recommend? Or perhaps you have a contact at a place etc. I'm based in SW London/Surrey so near to here would be good, but anywhere in London is ok. Cheers Ted
10. I've got one of these and it's excellent. It also happens to be the exact thing they use for the voice of the Daleks in Dr Who, and for that alone it's worth the price
11. Paul bought my SFX headphone amp, very nice guy to deal with. Thanks
12. best guitar distortion pedal i have ever used! and such a lovely on/off switch (not joking, it really is brilliant)
13. i've just replaced all the grub screws on my bridge - string height adjusters. i deliberately bought shorter screws so they would sit a little shy of the top, as i like to rest my palm there. they are the correct size but i wondered if i could put anything on the thread to stiffen them a bit? i like the idea of them being a little more firm than they are.
14. It does make brilliant sounds! If I can keep the PSU, what about £190 posted?
15. More info on this one of a kind FX box here: http://www.loopers-delight.com/tools/vortex/vortexspecs.html
16. daft question perhap, but what do these sound like playing a straight up bassline - soul/funk etc. all the clips i find on youtube are people playing it like a guitar, or putting it through an overdrive etc.
17. BigRedX - sorry to jump on your gig thread! can you PM me please? cheers Ted
18. Chunk Systems Brown Dog Can go from a tiny touch of fuzz to full on synth fuzz. Sounds super fat as it has separate control over clean signal and fuzz signal. Also has a switch to go between soft and hard fuzz, and essential gate control. True bypass. Brilliant pedal which has had light studio use only, 8 months old, box and original manual. Mint condition, no velcro, no issues. Reluctant sale but I'm playing clean bass now so its not getting used. £180 posted (uk)
19. My LM3 is 100% mint, boxed and hardly used. I'm interested in a trade for an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 amp as I am now running Aguilar cabs and would like to match them up. £50 your way as the TH500 is RRP a little more. I'm in Kingston, SW London.
20. Lexicon Vortex - unusual and unique morphing FX unit from the late 90s'. This has been racked in my studio for years but doesn't get so much use now I'm nearly all plugins. If you like outboard and unusual effects that don't sound anything like plugins then this is for you! Dub and electronica producers will especially like this machine. I have the original PSU and the unit is in excellent working order with a few marks where it has been racked. £140 posted (uk)
