    i'm not sure how Nash works - is this a Fender that's been given the Nash treatment? I ask because the Nash's i've seen have Nash on the headstock, but this one has Fender. Looks very cool btw.

    I've recently bought a marvellous Fender Geddy Jazz on this forum. It has very simple controls - Vol Neck / Vol Bridge / Tone (one knob for both) I've only ever had a P-Bass so this two pickup thing has taken some investigation... I always thought that 80% of a pickup is just a quieter version of 100%. But is it?? For example I was of the mind that you either have the neck or bridge on full volume, and dial in the other to taste. But what I've ended up with for the moment is neck on 80% and bridge on 60-70%. This to my ears sounds different to neck on 100% bridge on 90%, if you see what i mean. It seems like the last 10 to 20% of the volume really changes the tone even if you're only running one pickup - obviously it makes it louder but even if i turn down the amp to compensate it seems to make it brighter and harder. Am i imagining things here? Anyway, just thought some of you might like to chip in with thoughts about how you like to work your two pickups on the Jazz... Cheers Ted

    sounded good to me. i never had the main gain above about 4 or 5, compressor was good, and the eqs seemed very effective. not had any other amps to compare it to.

    Fuji Gen crafted early 90s Orvile Les Paul, long neck tenon! photo flame sunburst, all original including original humbuckers and japanese softcase. This is a beautifully made guitar, very solid, plays like a dream, no fretwear of note, seems as well made as any Gibson i've picked up. Has some wear but nothing major - small dings, see pics. Main thing of note is that the varnish on the body front is crazed/cracked. Not the wood, just the varnish. it does not affect playability and you can only see the cracks when you get to within a couple of feet. This apparently is a common issue with these. I personally don't mind it at all, but if you like your guitars minty then look away! I imported this from Japan about 3 years ago. Plus the guys were alright too [/quote] i went there for the first time the other day and i was pretty impressed! huge shop and happy to let you noodle around. i also went to andertons in guilford, which have a smallish range of basses (lots of fenders) and again are happy to let you sit there and try them out, and the bass room is cut off from the rest of the shop so its a bit more private. i think you can also get a separate room to demo amps but i didn't do that. i could hear the squalling of a rock solo coming from somewhere though... back on topic - i didn't know of the bass gallery but sounds like an essential visit.

    Looking to change up my setup. I have an Ampeg PF500 + Ampeg 410HLF (for sale in another post). The PF500 was bought new in April this year, works perfectly, still under guarantee and in [i]total[/i] mint condition - boxed, manual etc. Home studio use only. They are around £350 new, so i guess trade value is about £275? Interested really in trading for an Ashdown LB + a bit of cash. Cheers Ted
