  1. As a Noble user, I was looking for something that hit the spot for me when I couldn't take that out. I've owned a Capo for a little while, and while i liked how it sounds, I found it a little too sensitive and would end up endlessly fiddling with the EQ. I've ended up with a Caveman BP1c (of which there are some for sale on here!). It sounds similar to the Capo on the settings i liked, if not better, and is hard to mess up! And the biggie is that when i have that and not the Noble, I'm not bummed out! Hope that helps...
  2. Looks like I may be able to come up... I have a gig not far away the night before. If so I'll have a van full of big Fender Valvey goodness, some Sandbergs, Limelights, possibly an upright and pedalboards. TBC!
  3. At risk of a thread derailment @Chadu25... And to bring things back on track, here's the A rig. Unchanged for quite a while, possibly the upgrade from TX to TX-P and the return of the T-47 are the only changes since last time, although underneath a shift to Cioks power and a complete rewire this summer. And for the sake of completeness, here's the upright rig:
  4. New small board alert... had a few things I was really enjoying but didn't want to mess with my main setup. So here's board 2!
  5. @Quatschmacher If that doesn't pan out for any reason give me a shout!
  6. I've been experimenting lately, and it turns out i really like what I already use! All prices include UK postage. Dunlop Flatwound 45/125 5 string set. I left enough length on the G to work as a 4-string set. £55 GHS Pressurewound 44-102 Cut for vintage P, gigged once! £28 La Bella Nickel Roundwound 45/100 Still sealed! £20 La Bella Nickel Roundwound 45/105. Cut for vintage P, ungigged £18 (Whoops... wrong strings pictured!) D'addario Nickel Roundwound 50/105 Bought and cut for downtuned gig on vintage P, but ungigged! £15 Sandberg Stainless Steel 45/130 (I think!) Removed from brand new Sandberg 4+1 headstock £15
  7. Broughton HPF-DI... an Adjustable Hi-Pass Filter combined with an Impedance/Gain adjustment, phase control and high quality DI. This was the centre of my DB rig until i went to the far pricier Grace Felix, and this gives it a run for it's money to be honest. Also does sound great on Electric bass! As with most Broughton stuff, no longer available. A few marks from pedalboard mounting as shown in the photos. Price includes UK postage.

  8. Just had somebody nearly scammed by this profile on FB groups... using my listing photos (Jad Freer CAPO). Might or might not be our man, but be alert! Luckily the buyer found me first....
  9. On the fence about this... but trying to clear some space! Ashdown CTM-30 in tweed, beautiful low volume valve goodness. Wonderful at home but also suitable for smaller gigs. Can include a speaker splitter for running 2 cabs from one output for various impedance options. Hotcovers cover. Collection preferred, do travel a little and can probably post if need be. I believe @Kateplaysbass is selling the matching cab if anybody wants the Tweed package!
  10. I wasn't sure quite where to put this but it would seem to appeal the post to those of an Acoustic leaning.... 11. Price includes UK Postage. This has been taken out of the house just once, as such is neatly velco'd but aside from this is essentially as-new and boxed. For me an upgrade on the previous model, and i actually bought two which in hindsight was a little overkill!

  12. Jad Freer Capo DI... incredibly versatile preamp/Overdrive/DI. Sounds rather wonderful but I tend to lean towards simpler items so am letting this one go. Original box/velvet pouch etc included. £450 includes UK Special delivery, no trades as it stands!

  13. @Chienmortbb We have the combos where i teach and i find them really difficult to dial in for my students and myself. Almost feel like a modelling amp then going through a speaker cab. I did try the head out at the Cavern Club, and couldn't make it work for me either. Plugged my own head into the cabs and loved it so the speakers are decent! Edit... thought i might also add that the blackstar gear we have has been horrifically unreliable. We usually have a few out of action at any given time. The guitar amps sound great but suffer the same issues...
  14. Just the Nobels left... as Tobie said, it's a lovely thing!
  15. @sifi2112 Peterson Strobostomp Mini is all I've my eye on at the moment...
  16. Origin DCX Bass... a versatile Preamp/Overdrive with the quality you'd expect from a company like Origin! UK Postage included. .
  17. Everything about this show and the documentary of that week is incredible... certainly worth a viewing if you haven't!
  18. Big fan of inappropriately large tube amps such as the SVT here... but did recently try the new Ampeg Venture V12 and thought it sounded great. Some interesting new cabs too, including an 8x8 that has a cool stage presence. Seems like it's essentially the SGT-DI and a great power amp so if you're enjoy the pedal it would tick that box.
  19. @krispn it's not dissimilar to what i like about the cali76 TX... which i think is why Pino uses it alongside a compact these days. Was very interested to give it a go, and would get one if ever i don't have a TX!
  20. A few pedals, all including UK postage: JHS Pulp'n'Peel V4 Compressor/DI/drive/EQ: £160 SOLD SolidGoldFX Beta V Preamp/Overdrive: £120 SOLD Nobels ODR-1 Overdrive £75 29 Pedals Euna 'Unity Amplifier' Buffer/Signal conditioner/FX Loop (As used by Pino himself) £240 SOLD
  21. Another vote for the Gator Jazzmaster bag... I do also use a new Gator Icon (Guitar size) for my Acinonyx and it fits beautifully. Not cheap, but really tough.
  22. One little copperhead trick that really helped me... a thin strip of gasket cork between it and the foot of the bridge. More consistent and a little more focused! The best tool was a HPF though, to really fine tune the lower frequencies.
  23. I bet there's a few people here who've played the Cavern Club Live Lounge... just wondering if anyone has any advice with regards to load in, parking, house amps etc? looks pretty pedestrian around there! I'm there in a few weeks for the first time, and it's date 1 of an otherwise very straightforward tour of venues i know well. Looking forward to seeing a little bit of the history! If anyone is coming to night one of the Andy Timmons UK tour, or indeed any of the shows please let me know!
  24. Having tried this recently there's something cool about the feel of so much of the cab having direct contact with a stage... it can actually really help in a bigger space, especially with IEMS and maybe a lower stage volume.
  25. Somehow got one... looking forward to being back in the COG world, always regretting selling mine!
