My friend bought one the same off basschat a few months ago, he loves it. I've seen his and the red is beautiful, I don't think these photos show how great the colour looks.
It is kinda tricky to capture the colour, even Epiphone's generic product shots don't do it justice.

TRADED Haven't managed a sale on my other basses so adding this to the mix. This is a 2007 American Vintage '75 Jazz Reissue which saw plenty of action with the previous owner. There are loads of pics at https://www.icloud.c...#A6J0DiRHJtmb7C including the major dents and scratches which are all merely cosmetic. The bass is set-up really nicely, and everything works as it should. It comes with the classic style G&G Fender hard case and includes all the case candy - thumb rest (was fitted, now removed); pick-up and bridge covers (never fitted); lead; allen keys and a Levy's strap (not sure that's original). The hang tags are still in there too. It plays superbly - with an angry, spitting bite from the bridge pick-up in the proper 70s placement (closer to the bridge) and some guts from the neck pick-up. Roll off the tone a little and you're rewarded with a more mellow creaminess with a little punch thrown in. A veritable all rounder. [s]I've listed at £945 collected but please do feel free to make an offer.[/s] £850 or very near offer while I'm in need of raising some car cash. Insured delivery in the UK would be £30. I'm in Chepstow, S. Wales if you'd like to come and try it out. I'm also happy to try an meet up to get a deal done rather than rely on couriers. Ideally, I would like to trade this alongside other basses, for something different. I've recently had my #1 bass back after a prolonged period of fault/repair absence and, because there are loads of very lovely high end basses knocking about, I'm looking to sell or ideally trade some of my other basses with a view to getting something yum. Fourth on the list is this Epiphone Allen Woody Rumblekat. Good things do come in small packages and this bass is the proof. If you're looking for a bass which generates pure thunder, look no further. It looks the business too with the gold hardware on wine red finish. Short scale, so loads of fun flying around the super fast neck and, because of the design, it doesn't feel cramped, with the nut sitting only marginally closer to you than on a standard bass. It's hopefully self-evident that this bass isn't going to be one for slap fans out there, but if the tone in your head is "epic 70s rock massive" then here's your bass. The E tuner is a replacement and, if you look super-closely, you may notice it's a slightly different shade of gold. I'll include the other three tuners which match the E in the sale. Looking for £[s]195[/s] £175 ono for this. Price is for collection but can work out delivery options, don't mind meeting up if practical. I'm in Chepstow but gig all over S. Wales so Newport/Cardiff meets possible too. Ideally, I would like to trade this alongside other basses, for something different. Anyone who would like to try any of the basses out with a view to a deal, if you can get to Chepstow you're more than welcome. I've recently had my #1 bass back after a prolonged period of fault/repair absence and, because there are loads of very lovely high end basses knocking about, I'm looking to sell or ideally trade some of my other basses with a view to getting something yum. Third on the list is this Lakland 55-02 Deluxe in Cherry Sunburst with maple board. Of the 5 basses I have up FS/FT, this is the one I'd most like to hold on to. It's stunning to look at for starters, but it's also extremely comfortable to play and has a huge range of tones available. It has the Lakland pick-ups and LH-3 pre-amp which I like a whole lot better than the Bartolini system these basses featured in the early days, though maybe I just never found the right bass until now. Anyway there is oodles of punch in this thing and the action is super-low and on a rock stable neck. Condition is excellent with only one notable (but small) ding on the neck which doesn't interfere with playing at all. I'm looking for £795 ono offer for this. Price is for collection but can work out delivery options, don't mind meeting up if practical. I'm in Chepstow but gig all over S. Wales so Newport/Cardiff meets possible too. Ideally, I would like to trade this alongside other basses, for something different. I've recently had my #1 bass back after a prolonged period of fault/repair absence and, because there are loads of very lovely high end basses knocking about, I'm looking to sell or ideally trade some of my other basses with a view to getting something yum. Next is this Lakland Darryl Jones 5 (DJ5) with East J-Retro, finished in black sparkle with a tastefully vintage looking parchment pickguard. This bass plays beautifully and the J-Retro gives you endless tone possibilities. It rewards funky fingerstyle, rock thump and slap happy madness equally brilliantly. Cosmetically it's a bass which has seen plenty of action but been well cared for, if that makes sense. There's no dings in the paint other than one on the headstock but some superficial scratching in places which is only visible under the correct light angle. In my opinion, this bass is probably worth about £895 with the J-Retro upgrade, but that would be a lot more than I bought it for on here not too long ago [s]so my price of £795 ono is a little more than I paid for it, but only because[/s] I have put new strings on it, had it set-up and the electronics given a once over as it wasn't working quite as it should be. It's all good now though. Price now £745 collected. Insured UK delivery is £30. Don't mind meeting up if practical. I'm in Chepstow but gig all over S. Wales so Newport/Cardiff meets possible too. Could possibly take a part-ex with cash my way. I've recently had my #1 bass back after a prolonged period of fault/repair absence and, because there are loads of very lovely high end basses knocking about, I'm looking to sell or ideally trade some of my other basses with a view to getting something yum. First up is this Lakland 44-60 in Ltd Edition Inca Silver finish with matching headstock. These are exceptionally good basses which really nail the vintage jazz bass vibe but with modern features such as through body stringing and hipshot ultralite tuners. The neck is really slick and there's loads of bite and bark in the tone if you want it, but there's rich and mellow there too if you roll off the tone pot. It's currently wearing a set of flatwounds for some old-school thump which it does really well. It's superbly put together and is an all round great player. A few signs of use, including a minor ding on the back of the neck (which you won't notice when playing). Looking for [s]£645[/s] [s]£595[/s] £575 ono. Price is for collection but can do insured delivery for £600, don't mind meeting up if practical. PM me or e-mail me petewarduk at me dot com or call/txt on 07515929935 UPDATE 29/09/14 Bass is now sporting a new set of roundwounds and I played it all gig long Saturday night. It was outstandingly good. If it doesn't go in the next few days I think I will be withdrawing it from sale. Thanks and yeah, the MarkBass combos are so great. I always get people asking me if I'm going through the PA and they can't believe it when I say I'm not!

A sweet old lady recorded this on NYE 2013/14 at Charlton King's Social Club, Cheltenham. Sound is pretty decent. Using earphones you can really hear the bass clear as you like which, for the record, is a Yamaha BB1024x into a MarkBass CMD121P with a cat's lick of compression coming from a BBE OptoStomp. Bought Sam's Lakland DJ5. Sam was very easy to deal with, kept me informed at all stages of sending etc. Bass is great, exactly as described and came well packed. Would be happy to deal with Sam again. Pete
