1. Hi Bob, I have one of these, albeit the slightly newer version. If I was selling I'd be hoping to get £550; if I was buying I'd be hoping to pay £425-£475. Pete
2. Andy bought a mic off me. Very smooth transaction.
3. Mark bought my TU-2. Top man.
4. Bump for big price drop down to £220 posted
5. Bump, for lower price
6. Sold Chris my jazz bass a couple of months back. Easy deal to sort out and complete. Top man.
7. Great tuner pedal, does exactly what you need it to do. Used but in v. good condition. £45 posted in the UK
8.
There's no picture???
That'll be Dumbledore up to his old tricks again.
9. I used to own a Rumblekat but didn't play it much and only put it through my gig rig on the day I sold it, which is when I realised I'd made a big mistake. I almost bought another earlier this week but someone snapped it up before I pulled the trigger and now can't find anywhere that has one in stock. Lovely bass to play because of the short scale, though if you've got shovel hands I suppose it might be a little cramped until you get used to it. Tone is just a huge. thumping delight. Very punchy when using a pick and sweet when using fingers.
10.
If you want to stiffen it up a bit, either use a less flexible string (as AceBassMusic suggests with hex cores - never tried them myself), or a heavier gauge so you can get more tension on it. The pitch of the string depends on it's length, mass and tension. The length between nut and bridge is fixed, it still needs to be tuned to 'B', so the only other variable is mass i.e. the thickness of the string. A heavier gauge string needs more tension on it to get to the same pitch - which should help with your problem with floppiness (snigger). Any other gubbins you stick on your bass (like a different bridge, string trees, spacers, etc.) are not going to make any difference unless they [s]shorten[/s] lengthen the scale of your bass - and then your frets would be in the wrong place. Edit: Longer string = more tension for same pitch - oops!
+1 to this You can't change the length of the string as the goal is the same note, but with increased tension. You can't simply increase the tension because that would change the note so the only thing you can really do is use a heavier gauge string in order to incerease the mass. I've had a Fender Mex 5 in the past and the B always sounded completely different to the other four strings. I found that a .135 gauge string felt okay physically though.
11. Yeah, probably should have said "backline" in my post!
12. +1 for Thomann from me. Had a fairly well gigged TC vocal monitor go south about 18 months after purchase and they replaced without question. Also bought a TRB1006 and they sent the wrong finish by mistake but were happy to send replacement then collect incorrect one (so I wouldn't be without bass). Shame the Euro v Pound ain't what is used to be but for customer service Thomann are ace.
13. Don't know why, but been having a slight nostalgia attack lately where amps are concerned. Do you know what model numbers these are?
14. This, plus 6 x MarkBass 610 cabs or even 8 Hartke 410XL That would wipe the smile off many a guitarist's face. Not sure my car would be too pleased - or my back for that matter.
15. Utter bargain
16. +1 to the "two cabs are better than one" argument. Don't get me wrong, one on it's own is great, but two DB112 together is filthy. Really wish they could have put two handles on them and/or could shave a few kilos off the weight though, they would be pretty much perfect after that.
17. I've had a pair of both DB112s and Purple Chili 1x12s and tonally and build quality, the Aguilar won hands down. The PC were a little easier to carry because the Aguilar only have a strap type handle and were about 5kg heaveier than the stat sheet on the web site would have you believe. It's only because of the weight that I let them go but seriously considering going back to them, even though I love the portability of my MarkBass combo.
18. Bump Think I would like something Lakland and 5 string or Epiphone Allen Woody Rumblekat.
19.
Is this still available ?
Sorry, now sold.
20. Had a few interesting offers but nothing stuck yet. What have you got? Peter
21.
Dear Pete, Do you still have the SMX Dual Compressor?, if you do, are you willing to send it to the Netherlands?. Please let me know, Cheers, Peter.
Hi Peter, would be happy to post to Netherlands. E-mail me pete at peteward.co.uk to discuss. Pete
