found myself playing trio/quartet jazz in a lapdancing club
Ok, so you were playing jazz, BUT you were in a lapdancing club! :brow: .............what a gig!!!!
Welcome,
Karl -
It's all good stuff as far as i'm concerned. Music is music, whether you're playing the comb & tissue paper, the spoon, or the bass!
His version of 'Stairway...' is very impressive.
........its just build up of air escaping......its nothing to worry about unless it hurts.
This is generally true, but the main point here - 'no pain' = not likely to be RSI/arthritic damage/tenosynovitis/tendonosis....or any other unpleasant stuff you care to mention!
That said though, IF you're in any way worried, go & see GP/physio............peace of mind etc.

Yep. I've used these too....a great service. Well recommended. -
Yep. He's a knob!............but a stunning bit of birdseye wood there!

That'd be lovely with a tort plate!
I think i'll be watching that. :brow: -
Just had a listen to your myspace page......... fancy a EBMM Sterling, or a P Bass? Both would fit well with that genre of music.
But with £500, you've got a wide selection out there. Get along to decent music shop & play as many types as you can.
Happy shopping! -
Yeah direct from Roger and his team
It sounds like Roger & his team need a little email sent their way! -
Simply gorgeous! A classic look.
A pro can make a sh*te bass sound good.
Yeah, & i could easily make a £3000 bass sound sh*te!!
(this a great thread by the way) -
'Liar' & 'Bodies' from Never Mind The Bollocks ..........just reliving my youth!!

Good luck matey!
I worked in specialst hand-clinic in Cape Town a few years ago, so i'm fully aware of the 'rehab' you'll have to go through. But there's no reason why you won't get back to 100%!
Cheers, Karl -
Played a few - the Basics were very good Stingray alternatives and the Cali's equally so for Fender. Not a fan of the big pole pieces on the Delano pickups but other than that - very very nice.
This one on their gallery gets me very weak at the knees..

THAT is the dog's doo-dah's!! -
Have they returned to MIJ? Because i have noticed 'new' Japanese basses with Made in Japan on them.
Yeah, this appears to be the case.
I bought a MIJ P Bass from Guitar emporium last year (which was marked 'Made in Japan'), & when i asked, Malcolm (the owner/importer) did say that the wording had been changed from CIJ.
So that's that then.
Karl -
Welcome!
If you like the Musicman vibe, but want a slimmer neck, why not go for a Sterling?.....they're a great piece of kit.
Cheers, Karl -
I'm sure there'll be plenty of interest......(i'm definitely interested - it looks great).......but as always, depends on the price! :brow:
Cheers,
Karl -
....Fender make relics because they sell.....They sell because a lots of people like them.......I find the cost less offensive than the astronomical amount you pay for a really top-end bass eg 2.5K+
+1 -
Thanks for the Ashdown Graham.
I'm very happy with the deal (& sounds great too!).
Cheers, Karl
(lovely original 60's P bass too!......wish my dad had kept hold of some of his gear!) -
Why thank you kind Sir!
It was a nice, easy Saturday morning trip.
Cheers,
Karl
(I'll set up a feedback thread for you in a min too). -
Howdy Randall!
Welcome to blighty. -
Does anyone know if this only applies to stuff that's actually in stock, or can you get the participating stores to order something in especially for this?
Yep, it can be done with 'non-stock' items, & also via mail order/over the phone etc.
I used Andertons in Guildford, & ordered a non-stock Fender Active P Bass Special today. You can put any deposit from 10%, but need to leave at least £200 on finance.
Great way to spread the pain of GAS!! -
I was just going to write 'NOT ENOUGH', but having seen the poll, it seems as i'm not alone!!
