1.
Chic is late 70's.....
Not all of it
2. The SUB (Sports Utility Bass) essentially looks like a stingray, sounds like a stingray(for the most part) and weighs about half as much as a stingray. Think they were made made in Indonesia rather than California though, can't remember.... but they're pretty much the closest you'll get to a real-deal Stingray with the exception of the Ray34/35
3. Duran Duran - Rio Patricia Rushen - Forget Me Nots Everything ever by Chic.... Sister Sledge - Thinking of You Level 42 - Love Games The list goes on...
4.
if your a flea fan then surely a musicman stingray is the best bet for £650? my old one sold on here for that price or the SUB basses are incredible value for money, usually between £350 and £400. If you want to buy new, then the sterling range retail around £600. Ps. Didn't want to sound patronising but just incase you didn't know, flea used musicman stingrays in the early days and his sig basses have all been of similar design since.
this man is spot on Stingray (or SUB) all the way
5. Hey My band ABOVE OUR STATION are currently looking for a drummer, double kick is essential and playing to a click live is desirable. We're just about to release our second EP and are looking to gig for the foreseeable future and start recording our debut album later in the year. If you, or anyone you know, are interested then please email us at [email protected] or get in contact with me on here and we'll sort out some tracks to be auditioned and provide any additional info you may want. Cheers Jaz
6. i've always been a fan of using 2 mics. a large diaphragm condenser (i use a rode nt1-a) aimed at the middle of the cone and a dynamic (audix i-5) at the edge but at a slight angle facing away from the centre. the blend of the 2 seems to give me the most accurate sound to what i'm hearing from the cab with minimal tweeking from software.
7. in the process of learning Hair-Trigger by Protest the Hero..... pretty hard going XD
8.
Don't blame you, she's a beaut!
Aww shucks
9. Summer '91 stingray 4, birdseye maple neck and the string mutes. EASILY the best sounding bass I'ver played, seriously in love with her!

Guitar Porn

Modded Spear Gladius, neck thru, spalt maple top, mahogany body, 5 piece maple neck (all standard) Mods: Bareknuckle Nailbomb pickups, 5 way pickup selector (to switch between having the pickup wired series or parallel), 2 coil taps and a phase invert on the bridge (which acts as a killswitch when the bridge pickup is in series) hardest bit of wiring i've done but SO WORTH IT in the end, the amount of sounds i can get from this one guitar is unbelievable!
11. For me it has to be xln's addictive drums, their samples and groves win hands down every time imo
12. The batteries in both basses are brand spangling new and the pedal itself is running off a 9vDC power adapter (which i've also crosschecked with other adapters). I will have a look into the DI box route as I've always insisted they just use the direct out on my amp to save on cables and things to trip over Just wish I could pinpoint what's triggered it.... it's all a bit odd
13. Nice and simple
14. Hey, I've got a BBE Opto Stomp optical compressor and it's recently developed a rather noticeable hiss. Before anyone suggests it's compressing underlying hiss from another i have checked all my other pedals on their own and this one is definitely the culprit. When I'm playing through a cab the hiss isn't too bad, but a lot of gigs I d.i my bass through my head and that's when it really stands out. Up until a few weeks ago it's been fine and i can't think of anything that's happened to make it start hissing. Any help/advice will be hugely appreciated. Jaz
15.
That's an interesting & unusual signal chain, using the fx loop is even more odd (but I suppose that's what it's for ). If that's what gets "Your" sound, then that's what counts.
It's primarily because I use the same layout for my guitar rig (where I like my fx after the preamp) and I'm too lazy to change it for bass. I also find that the boss pedals seem to get quieter when activated if they're run before the amp (mostly the Auto-Wah) but through the fx loop they stay at the intended volume, dunno if anyone else finds this?
16. Signal Path : Bass-> Ibanez TS9-DX (with Keeley Mod)-> ISP Decimator G-String-> Amp - FX Send-> Boss TU-2-> Boss CE-5-> Boss AW-3-> Boss OC-3-> BBE Opto Stomp-> ISP Decimator (Again)-> FX Return only thing i'm looking to add is a Boss DD-7 but i don't really see me ever having a use for one so for now it will have to stay a fantasy
17. i use a keeley modded ibanez ts9-dx, loads of flexibility and probably the best distortion pedal i've used for bass. i also use a boss oc-3 one the drive setting for that more synthy jamiroquai sound
18. I know it's unlikely this beaut it still available but very interested if it is Jaz
