I've had a whole bunch of nice basses I have always struggled with Jazz basses so can't comment on jazzers but I love MM's and G&L's and at the moment my favouorite precision sound comes from a G&L SB2 and my favourite humbucking bass is currently my Fender Dimension Standard. I hope that doesn't confuse matters more 😎

Me, a 5 stringer would be nice but I'm happy with my Dimension %

Aha, question answered I guess. I hope that you get on well it it Note: I'm a big G&L fan and have had Tribulte L2000's and L2500s. My facourite bass is an SB2 but I would like to try a US L2500 at some point.

Thanks, I think I'll see if I can do the swap. My main bass is a Fender Dimension so this more of a backup in any case. If I don't use it I'll sell it on

Natural, lightweight at 9.7lb, plays like a dream. Up for sale somewhere on here.

I have have a nice 5 stingray that I'm thinking of swapping for a Warwick Thumb BO. The Thumb sounds like a good one, late 90's, great woods and condition and very lightweight. I can't try before we swap though as there is some distance involved so once I'm committed it is happening. My question is about the relative values,. I am assuming that they are about the same so am I right? I have never played a Thumb before and am a bit unsure that the "geometry" will suit me so I may end up selling. Any advice is much appreciated. Ed

SOLD Fender Dimension American Standard V (passive)

Hi, I'm selling an American Dimension V standard. These passive American 5 stringers are tough to find and this is model is my favourite 5 string bass. So why sell? Well I have two. The only reason that I haven't sold one earlier is that I couldn't decide which to keep and which to sell. However my black one fits my bands image better sot his beaut is now up for sale. About this bass. It handles really well, sounds great both solo and in the mix and I love the look too. I also love the passive vol/vol/tone set up as I can get all the sounds I want and blending/balancing the two pups is really easy to do. It great on the ear. I would describe it as having a smooth but powerful sound that covers the ground between a Stingray and the passive Fenders. I find it preovides everything that I need or want. It is in great condition, pretty much as new with its case as pictured and I don't think that the previous user had used it live at all. I will get better pictures later as the few below were taken in bright sunlight. Most of the time it looks like the one in the video. Specificatiuon and video follow. Hi and yes I can read but the writing on the headstock but I was wondering if it had a specific tag or model name as it seems a bit flash with its binding etc. I didn't buy this bass as it was a wonderfully generous gift from someone for my son who had shown an interest in playing. However he didn't take up playing so I am now wondering if I should jsut keep, sell it and donate the money to a good cause or sell it and get something that my daughter may like to play...she has shown some interest in playing. Anyhow before doing anything I would like to know what it is. Ed

Epiphone Thunderbird Pro V I got one a few years back to try a "bird". i liked the sound and style but it seemed to me that Epiphone hadn't taken the time to make it into a propper 5 string and had just pushed the 4 strijng design. The B string was noticibly quieter than the others and I couldn't fit my favourite b string guage through the bridge... I then found that I couldn't get replacement pickups to fit without major surgery so it had to go.
