Hi, I hope that this is the right place to post this. So I recorded some of my songs what started out as a demo ended up as an album. A friend heard it, liked it and offered to make me a video (below). I'm over the moon with it and feel that it really brought the song alive. What is the best way to make use of it? Positive suggestions appreciated... note I do play bass (that G&L) on the recording but not in the vid.

I remember thinking that when I played a MIM deluxe in PMT, "nice bass but what makes it stand out" I thought. It is a mind set when the market is already saturated. If I had thought "nice bass" and stopped there that would have been equally valid

Yes I couldnt find one so thought I would start one. I like to follow the Bass Collection page on FB. It will only work if people post stuff etc. We'll see if it takes off or not.

Yes it was Yolanda's video, the bass whisperers reviews and trying out a 4 string version that gave me the confidence to search out a 5. Note: Yolanda joined the page, which is cool.

Fender didn't sell enough. They certainly seemed to have faith in their product and tried to sell a decent volume. That flooded the market and they started selling them off cheap. Why didn't people buy them? Try discussing that on the page. My opinion is Fender already have a big chunk of the market in Jazzers and Precisions and the competition is tough! Smaller volumes may have worked. It lasted longer than most other attempts to establish volume sales of a new design in the bass market. Such a sweet sounding bass and easy to play. (I have American Standard/passive v's) There are quite a few threads about it. It is definately not a Music Man replica. I know as I also have a Stingray. Note: The USA ones are pretty scarce new now. https://www.facebook.com/groups/382848225624135/

Hi, seeing as Fender stopped making these basses I thought it would be cool to set up a page for them on facebook with the following aim: Post love, information, pictures and stories about these most excellent instruments. One of the best bass designs to come from Fender for years! Please keep posts nice, fun and focussed on these great basses. Anyhow, here is the link if anyone fancies joining or moderating. Strangely I can't embed a link but just look for "Dimension Bass Page (unnoficial)" and you will find it. https://www.facebook.com/groups/382848225624135/

Well each to their own but don't let unlined put you off. I find unlined much better. I know where I am I just glance at the dots on the top of the neck and know that is where to place my fingers. My ears tell me the rest....I really stuggled with lines as I found myself trying to look at the fretboard all the time. Lines were a confidence breaker for me and were why I gave up on fretless for a while..

Hi all, I have a very nice used ATK 805 Premium bass for sale. It is in good condition. No notable marks other than a scratch on the chrome bridge, that was present when I bought it. It hasn't shown any sign of worsening. I bought it about 3 years back. It comes as I bought it with a generic soft case and dunlop strap locks. The 5 string versions of this bass are quite rare/very rare in the UK. I searched for one for a long while and have not been dissapointed. It has been my main gigging bass since 2016 but I don't play many gigs so it is in good condition. Another purchase means it isn't getting so much use now so it is time to move it on. What is it like? Quite a thick (front to back) but very comfotable neck and a light weight. It has a great range of sounds. I tend to leave the eq flat and "flick the switch" to select either an solid all round or more agressive sound without a noticable volume increase and It replaced a Stingray in my band. A great all rounder!

Well I'd like more....maybe a deluxe but as a self-funded originals artist I have lots of spending to keep up with and not much money coming in from it.

I haven't ordered on yet as I found myself another Dimension Standard so now have a black and a sunburst. If you are needing an as new white deluxe pickguard let me know as it came with one. It also came with a spare pickup selector. I could do with selling them as neither fits the Standard. Note: It seems nuts to have two standards but I love them and can't decide which (if any) to move on.

Thanks, I'm on it.

Hi, I have Fender Dimension Standard V and want to get a new pickguard made.Nothing flash, just plain. Recommendations please? Note: The Standard is an uncommon bass so I am assuming that I will need to get one manufactured

The album launch is Friday 11th of Jan, with two 40 min sets by yours truly and friends. The music starts at 9.00..come on down I also have a cool review. "The tracks are deep, moody and a little darkish some with a menacing feel to them but all telling a tale, some with a hint of ‘Dire Straits’ and ‘Pink Floyd’ pervading through them. Then there is Eddie’s own influence which dominates and which makes this CD what it is - different and very curious, as he adds a certain quality to this CD which makes you start to wonder what is going to happen next. All in all a great CD and body of work extremely worthy of a wider audience" ...Brian Inglis, Jelli records. Note: the fretless has gone and seeing that I can't play a fretted neck on its own I will also sell the fretted nck. It is a beaut, I'll stick a picture at the bottom This is a 2007 Fretless Stingray 5 with Pau Ferro finger board. It is lightweight for a Stingray. Note: I have had 3 fretted SR5' in the past and all were heavier than this. It is in great condition and comes with an MM case. It plays superbly and sounds great. You can hear it without effects etc. on tracks 5, 8 and 9 here: https://eddiemole.bandcamp.com/album/butterflies-and-spiders I have had this bass for around 5 years now and it is one of my favourite ever basses but I just don't use it. Apologies for the crap pictures..it is a really special bit of kit. No trades, will sell split and sell neck-see link:

Hi, I bought from here as a project. The body had been stripped, frets removed, the action was poor and the J pickup was very quiet. I did plan to refinish it but I quite liked its rugged good looks so just tru-oiled it. I also swapped the J pup for one of the higher spec Alan Entwistle ones. Both pickups now sound good. Note: Although if you turn them both up together they seem to compete rather than complement one another. Controls are Vol, Vol, & Tone. It is lightweight and now has a nice feel and it has plenty of mojo. It is usable and the action is now better but I have listed it as a project as it would benifit from more work and sorting. This is reflected in the price. At the moment it would suit someone who wants to have a shot at fretless or who is happy do finish it off properly as I have now moved on to other basses. I'm asking £175 posted as I think this is what I paid for it.

Loads of Sets of Bass Strings

Yes that's the trouble, if I bought 4 sets of different strings to try that would be more than the bass cost me 😂 I uses to use 77's in my rock band, then switched to Status half rounds, which I loved but they stopped making them so I switched to Elixir rounds. I have labella flats on my fretless, which I'm happy with but I do like these on this particular bass. They record really nice too.

Brass rings with the same red silk. The silk is "glossy" and an intense red colour. I'm pretty sure that they aren't Rotosound Jazz 77's, as used them in the past and these feel different. Also the 77's have a distinctive silver colour that these are lacking. Following Silvia's suggestion theses look right.

Hi, can anyone tell me what strings these are as I like them a lot? They are on a Sigma acoustic bass and are flats with red silk at both ends
