1. I love fretless and have been messing around with it for 4 or 5 years, I don't play it much or particularly well and haven't played it live yet. One of the problems that I was guilty of was that I overplayed it to begin with. Too much mwah is not a good thing and sliding around the strings can make things sound out of tune. I've settled down a bit and really enjoy it.
2. I remember it well, very nicely put together and with a classic P fretless sound and feel. My reason for selling was that I normally play a fretted Musicman and decided that a MM fretless would suit me better.GLWTS
3. Thanks all, a pleasure doing business

Backwater

Bought some Straplocks and received them in double quick time..Thanks
5. I had a really busy week but am glad I made the effort today even (though I didn't seem to get around all the gear I would have liked to see..must be running out of steam) The Gillet's were amazing, loveley tones and buid quality. I liked the Chowny Scott Whitley too as It's a lively little beast. Other basses that stood out were the Burny Thunderbird, Norms Sqiuer Precision 5 and Stingray and I really enjoyed talking to the home builders. Dom's DA basses were really nice as were Jabba's natural ones pictured above. I sepecially liked that fretless...no controls but sounded great Also thanks to Andy for letting me try a few ocave/fuzz pedals. It was a great atmosphere...thanks to all involved

G&L Kiloton

G&L are now producing an amazing array of basses. The only gap I can see is the 5 string SB/P bass ASAT's , L series, M series, The MJ's, JB's, LB, Kiliton and SB's Loks like they have most "basses" covered http://www.glguitars.com/instruments/USA/basses/index.asp
7. Ok so things have settled down a bit so I'll bring G&L SB-2 G&L L1500 Bass Collection SB335 Stingray fretless SR5 I'll be there late morning
8. I used to use this cheapy pedal with distorted guitar and it did the job job...never tried it in anger with bass. As it doesn't get used so someone out there may like it....yours posted for £18, take it away for £15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEvte09OsL4
9. An amazing pedal this for either bass or guitar. I can vouch from experience as I have used it with both and can also tell you that it works great with other pedals too. This pedal is like new and I have a box somethere. They seem to be around £200 new. Sunstantial outgoings mean that I need to sell. Pictures on request. There is a nice video here and plenty more on yourtube featuring bass. https://www.youtube....h?v=tHTEgdL-lYM
10. £35 posted?

G&L Kiloton
Apart from the addition of a single coil mode and the passive tone control, how does the Kiloton differ from an L1500 in passive mode? The pickup looks to be in exactly the same position so surely it's pretty much an L1500 without a preamp. Is it really different enough to be a new model or just a slick bit of marketing? Having said that, I love how it sounds and want one!
The SB shape and resulting lighter weight should be a big + and I think that the control options and layout look really good too. I would like to try one.

G&L Kiloton
@Pinball the L1500 is so cool because of the previous owners mods ;-)
Ahaa and who may that be I wonder

G&L Kiloton

I love it and can hear the tones coming though that I love in my other G&L's. I love the passive sounds from my L1500 and can hear the same here. Another nice video here. https://youtu.be/3FqdXEWA1Mw .
£1500!!! No thanks, I'll wait for the Tribute model.
I agree that it is a lot but it is in the range of some other well known American manufacturers
16. WOW, I play 5's unfortunately
17. Well I have a Stingray, which I love and is my gigging bass (in fact I have two if you include my Fretless) and an L1505, which I also love and is an absolute beast and find myself lucky enough to be able to look for another. I see no point in simply duplicating what I have..hence my post
18.
Stephen mentioned that - shame that the mag's they've given him for the bash will be the previous edition.
I have disagree I'm in that one Can someone save me a copy as I would like another. Note: humbly mentioned as it's a small piece and I'm not the best player...just pushy!
19.
Yup they sound very different, I've had a few of both. The SR5HH was smoother, can have more of a scoopy tone. The L2500 has way higher output and is all attack and sustain.
Thanks that's the sort of thing that I need to know. Am I correct in thinking that you can still get a good aggressive ray tone from the HH? From youtube etc. I can hear nice rounded and boomy tones but need that classic ray zing too
20.
I'm still planning on coming down. Although I need to remove the Bass Collection SB320 from the for-sale bit (it's sold so won't be bringing it!)
well lets see if we can lift share...I can bring a Bass Collection if there is any interest in addition to the two already there any preferences in between a G&L L1500, L1505 and Bass Collection SB335?
21. Bump with video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXPhW7z2UJ0
22. I use my BB as a stomp in place of distortion pedal...before filters etc I should add that If I use my VT Deluxe I either use it "stand alone" or at the end of the bedal chain
23. Hi, I love SR5's and L1505's so can compare those but what about the 2 pickup versions? What are the merrits of each? Why should someone buy one over the other?
