1. I was looking for a P bass but no longer since I got a G&L SB-2 in a trade. It's a great bass and there is a Tribute version that may be worth a look. Very usable and punchy
2. Just 1 practice and a few days to go. Music link below https://soundcloud.com/angry-badgers
3.
I'd love to hear any comments about the homebrew 1x12's if any of you tried them. Are we in the right ballpark given that these would cost you less than £150 and will go very loud compared with most commercial 1x12's. Any feedback will be used to improve future designs.
Sorry I didn't give them more attention, there was lots going on. I thought they looked really well built and sounded good from what I heard.
4. Before leaving this thread the highlights for me in no particular order were Lakland Decade The Reverant The little Ashbury (I want one) 65 P bass Yamaha 1500 Shuker Custom Status King Bass Andy's pedal board Meeting friends and fellow enthusiasts I also like hearing others play my gear. It is amazing how different bass kit can sound in someone els's hands.
5. Should we analyse all the basses to see which ones are the best match for each combo next time?
6.
what was the retro looking bass with the jazz style pickups & the lovely rolled edges to the fretboard? Didnt get a chance to plug it in, looked very cool!
The Reverant I think...? Is there a list of what was there as it was a really interesting mix?
7. It does settle down but every time I practise or go to a gig my ears ring for hours.
8. Anyone suffer from ringing in the ears because I do? I was fine and wore ear plugs when we were playing loud. That was until a couple of months ago when I went to a a gig where I had to walk past the stacks to get to the loos. When I was passing the singer screamed, which physically hurt my ears. Since then I get ringing in my ears after playing or attending gigs even at moderate volumes. I'm thinking of going to the doctor...is there any point or will it settle down?
9.
Is this a King bass?? Hard to see from this angle..
Yes and it sounded great IMHO
Thanks for the response Pinball. So basically no loss of volume or bass frequencies if dialed to suit? and can be used for bass or guitar?
Yes, I'm happy with it
Is that a bass wah Pinball
Apologies for the late reply. It is an Ibanez Weeping Demon, It is highly tweak-able in that it has a low dial, a volume dial and a range switch. It also has various operation modes. I just leave it set so that it is off when not pressed. Turn up the bass, the range switch and volume so that you cut through and your off. With all those variables it must have been designed as an all rounder with bass in mind. I used to have a Morley which was nice and solid but it didn't seem to achieve much in the mix. The Ibby has a more dramatic effect-it can be vicious with distortion though so you need to practice a bit. Since getting it I haven't looked at any others as it does what I want There is a new verion without all the controls so check you get the right one. Note: I have it first in my line of effects. No tone suck when its off Info here: http://www.musicians...demon-wah-pedal
15. Any preference on which basses I take along? MM Stingray 5 Ibanez SR3005e G&L USA SB-2 They all have flats on.

Wah wah

I love wah and use it live on a couple of tracks. You can certainly add rhythm and ambiance provided that you avoid pedals that suck tone. If not it won't appear to do much in the mix.
17. Thanks for a super fast and easy deal. Great to meet you Graham Ed
18. I like it but I'm not going to use it so it needs to go.. PRICE DUMP!
19. Zoot ahoy! c'mon you landlubbers!
20.
Where? I can't see it anywhere.
I don't want to publicize it to much in case someone buys it .......nurse! Here it is: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/270642-bass-collection-fretless-feeler/page__fromsearch__1
