Thay pickguard really finishes it off nicely. Looks mega.
Before I traded it I put the original black one on it so will need to swap it back on so I needed another bass to go with my creme pickguard anyway I went for creme as thought that a white or white pearl would be too much of a contrast. I like dark basses but had comments that I couldn't be seen at a gig...no bad thing maybe
I can see why you would want it back...it looks cracking
Thanks, I know what I'm getting and that its worth it.. I couldn't believe it was still there, tucked away among the Sterling SUBs. It had to be done as it would have been crazy to leave it there ! Sometimes you need to travel sideways before you can go forwards.

It's all part of the master plan !

Yes it sounds stupid but if makes sense to me. I had a bad case of GAS for a used but pristine EB SR5 fretless so when the price dropped by a 3rd I thought I should grab it and traded in my unused guitars and a bit of cash. I then left the shop happy. The trade had included my SterlingRay35, which I kept as a spare and used at practises or when I need to leave gear in the car. That was a few weeks ago and I have been looking for a replacement and guess what? The best thing on offer my old SterlingRay35. I negotiated with those nice people at PMT and they only charged me a small amount more than they paid me for it so have paid a deposit and will collect it next week. Come on home baby! Here's some pictures from the first time-I added the creme guard

Cool, I was wondering how they compared. They really nailed it with the Umbo. I would love another someday when I make my millions
I guess it all depends what kind of tone your after, a little punchier in this vid. https://www.youtube....h?v=NKEHQdONP90
I didn't like his playing tone most of the time, especially on the ray-that was horrid
None of the stuff/sounds he played would be what I'd use a P bass for...and in that regard it came off worse, IMO.. The Jazz shaded it for me most of the time and was in the top 2 picks for all the styles he used.
I agree, the jazz was only tone that shone in that vid. To be fair he looked like he was just comparing all his basses rather than to do a serious comparison

Congratulations! Such nice guitars Umbo's........

A comparison here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z4rY1wLlKak They both P and SR5 sound pretty good to me but Pete your going to have to ditch you Jazz mate
Zoom B1on is very affordable and includes chromatic tuner, basic drum machine and looping functionality as well as the effects, can be used with headphones or in front of an amp, available as cheap as £39 from some retailers.
The B10n is a fun practise option and is something you could use once you get better kit After a similar request that is the route I have gone and I did a quick summery here: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2621084 I would agree with others that a cheap practise amp is a waste of money. Hold out and get yourself a small combo like an Orange or Roland that you can use to play with others musicians. Even better get an Ashdown Evo11 and cab. That way you can upgrade gradually, Good luck and enjoy your new bass!
Depends on how much gigging you do. I think for the guys out there on the front lines and depend on the "bread" it's just a good idea to always pack a spare. Hell, there are some groovy Squires ( not my cup of tea ) that would be just fine for some cats. Blue
Well I'm amateur but with my anxiety levels I need to cover all basses err bases! Anyway it isn't an expensive bass and I like it

This is an annoying thread as I had sold my "reserve" bass and after reading about various mishaps in here I'm now buying it back !

Hi, Have two universal bass cases in good condition. This one is a a very nice TGI ABS case. I say very nice because it offers good protection and is nice and light. It's like this one: http://www.guitarman...acrsxoCp2nw_wcB Pickup is from Nailsea or Bristol. £40 seems a fair price to me Thanks for looking

Bout a cover from MM20 a while back, very pleased with the deal

Vocal effects in good condition. It all functions correctly and comes with an adapter, boxed with instructions. These are great fun and have a wide array for vocal effects. Lots of fun for very little outlay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6pYeyfj9pE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fNgsZ8BXs0 + postage, thanks for looking

Still on honeymoon with my SR5, I'm recording with the band at the moment and don't have eyes for another.
Pinball, if I'm finished at a sensible time on the 19th I'll come up to weston to see your band play gladly. Thanks for the invite, keep me in the loop!
I'll send a couple of PM's but I have some details of that gig at last. I just put a poster on The Angry Badger FB (link in my sig) or you can follow on Ents24 http://www.ents24.co...adgers/4087088. It would be nice to see you there. No idea what the other bands are like as I have never seen either. I'll also PM
Not sure there's anything weak about a G-string in a Precision! I like the 3+1 visually, and that it allows for a shorter headstock and a much shorter length of string after the nut to reach the post... but I doubt it does anything to change whether it's weak or not.
I think it was some of the early 5 stringers that had issues.
