I think a lot of what is being discussed are just symptoms of poor or reactive management. As a company they seem to be floundering around, changing direction and relying on some old but very good designs.

I was talking to a retailer earlier this week who was telling me that he felt that Fender are loosing it big time. Why? 1. There are big depts 2. Their pricing has been all over the place in the last couple of years. 3. Fender bought up a lot of brands for a planned stock market floatation but are now selling them all off again. A friend of his, who deals mainly in Fender brand acoustic guitars, has seen his top two top selling Fender owned brands disappear this year-first Guild and now Takamine. Thumbs look very different and seem to get a lot of respect on here. Can someone explain whats special about them to someone who has never seen, heard or played one before-thats me Are they light weight, distinctive sound or just very good Go on sell it me!

I don't like it but only because it is emotionally strong and takes me somewhere I don't want to go. I find it almost painful to listen too. His voice is as amazing as ever!

Thanks for the replies. I bought it at the start of this year but only started using it for longer periods recently. Unfortunately I don't have proof of purchase anymore. I'll try the washing thing, its worth a shot. It is unbranded but it seems to be real suede with some padded sticking inside, which is why I like it. Note: A red shirt? luckily I was wearing one but it had white lines in it. The dye did wash out of that so there is hope Cheers
