2. Works well and is in good condition. It has velcro on the bottom and has a blue nob rather than a black one. A nice cheap way for someone Will post at cost It looks like this but message me for pics of the beast! 3. I think a lot of what is being discussed are just symptoms of poor or reactive management. As a company they seem to be floundering around, changing direction and relying on some old but very good designs.
4.
I preferred the old days when Fenders were made in America and everything else that looked like a Jazz bass or Precision was a cope, and cost no more than 25% of the real thing.

Making basses in China with the Fender Logo was to me the biggest mistake ever in devaluing the brand. The Mex instruments are much worse than the Squire special series basses in quality, the whole range is just a complete mess. USA basses with neck pockets you can put plectrums in !. The Fender Logo should in my opinion only be used on the very best USA instruments and use Squire for everything else. The brand has lost its Kudos, it's no longer a premium instrument brand, you can buy Fender branded Chinese basses ? WTF, sorry, but I really do hope they sell up and someone takes over and puts the Fender brand back where it belongs. Chasing the sub prime instrument market has not done them any favours.
It's not just the Fender brand now. it would be nice to see fine brands such as Guild and Takamine retain some integrity. Maybe even brands like Genz Benz could make a comeback
5. I was talking to a retailer earlier this week who was telling me that he felt that Fender are loosing it big time. Why? 1. There are big depts 2. Their pricing has been all over the place in the last couple of years. 3. Fender bought up a lot of brands for a planned stock market floatation but are now selling them all off again. A friend of his, who deals mainly in Fender brand acoustic guitars, has seen his top two top selling Fender owned brands disappear this year-first Guild and now Takamine. See link: https://www.mi-pro.c...h-fender/019354 Whats going on?
6. Thanks everyone you answered all my question
7. Thumbs look very different and seem to get a lot of respect on here. Can someone explain whats special about them to someone who has never seen, heard or played one before-thats me Are they light weight, distinctive sound or just very good Go on sell it me!
8. I don't like it but only because it is emotionally strong and takes me somewhere I don't want to go. I find it almost painful to listen too. His voice is as amazing as ever!
9. I love this, a very nice and unique looks. GLWTS
10. In answer to these two bits "I like a big, beefy sound but with quite a pronounced mid-twang (pronounced 'MID TWANG') and a hint of top sizzle... well-defined and articulate, but with a lot of oomph... and the descriptions on this forum of the Warwick 'growl' and 'heft' are quite intriguing..." and "Which Warwick?? Or should I really be looking at a Spector?? I would say your looking at a Warwick. The Spector's I have played have been great but have a pure, transparent and powerful sound, Warwick's have a more definable character and tone. Their slogan was something like "The sound of wood" and that Warwick growl is the result of that philosophy. I have not played many Warwick's but have an FNA. Definitely worth a look on the 2nd hand market. I use mine with flats and it has a great range of terrific tones.
I've seen 3 out of 4 of these bands play before and it'll be a good show! A proper good alt rock night it will be.
Thanks Paul, I'am now looking forward to it-always wanted to play at The Thunderbolt-see you there http://www.thethunderbolt.net/whatson.ihtml

Here's what the bands playing say about themselves: The Angry Badgers musical influences include The Pineapple Thief, Lou Reed and Nine Inch Nails. These are drawn together with hard hitting lyrics, in a soundscape of guitar riffs, synths and rhythm. The "Badger" sound, that is best described as alternative psychedelic post-prog industrial rock. Secret Veils: this 4 piece band describe their music as "Whispery, smoky tones and visceral groove" That Hidden Promise: "Extraordinary, electro rock loop wizardry".. That Hidden Promise is a solo act, that has been performing live with current set up since March 2011, after deciding to try and bring something different and fresh to the solo performer arena. So armed with songs which deliver inventiveness, thought provoking lyrics, catchy melodies and a hard, raw edge, THP creates the beats and percussion live, combined with electric guitar, giving the songs the platform, but also a performance to talk about. The Wires are a high energy acoustic Duo featuring David Beaver on Bass guitar / vocals and Yan Skuse on Acoustic guitar / vocals
15. I really can't understand why this hasn't sold. I've played a sunburst one of these in a shop several times. Yours is much cheaper and much better looking. It also has my preferred pup combination and Sandburgs own. If it had 5 strings I would have found the money for this somehow. GLWTS

Hi, I'm hoping some Basschatters can make it along to see my band play its own brand of "Alternative psychedelic post-progressive industrial rock" As we're a relatively new band, I was having problems finding gigs for the "Badgers" to play. After some persistent pestering I have a few gigs lined up. The first is a cracker as theThunderbolt. They got back and said they liked the name and what they heard on sound cloud and that they had a free night on the 8th of October. If we could put something together we could play then. Now we have an interesting 4 band line up and are all set to go. The only thing is......... we haven't played locally and are not yet well know so I'm not sure where the audience will come from. If your able to come along that would be great, if your able to drag a few others thats even better. If not maybe you could like our Facebook page and share the info. You can find more info about the band on The Angry Badgers" Facebook page Links? SoundCloud link in my sig and FB link below...my ears tell me we're worth seeing live https://www.facebook...67874850153434/ Cheers Ed
17. I had this on my pedal board for a good while but it got bumped and is now up for sale. Nice tones like the EBS Multidrive but more fuzzy. As new and boxed except that it has has velco attached to the bottom. A nice distortion that also works well on guitar. Don't let the M word put you off! + £5 postage
18.
Bump. Generating some interest, but still for sale for now.
I'm not surprised. If I played 4 strings I would have had this. GLWTS
19. Not for me, just another guitar solo. I like this version though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsbgx7QHBMY
20. Thanks for the replies. I bought it at the start of this year but only started using it for longer periods recently. Unfortunately I don't have proof of purchase anymore. I'll try the washing thing, its worth a shot. It is unbranded but it seems to be real suede with some padded sticking inside, which is why I like it. Note: A red shirt? luckily I was wearing one but it had white lines in it. The dye did wash out of that so there is hope Cheers
21. So what do you think, throw it away? It seems a shame
22. hmm I'm leaning towards a noise gate too. Anyone have one of those Mooer Noise Killers?
23.
Not to be a pain, because the bass looks great, but why is it sold 5 times in 10 years if it's so good?
From memory three were Dougal went abroad, Conan didn't get on with 5 strings and went up to 5 then back to 4 for a while. It is weird though your right.
24.
32.25" to save someone the bother.
It looks like 34.25"
