  1. Great, thanks for the feedback. Congratulations on your purchase!
  2. Hmmm, I always love the sound of a P bass when playing at home but for me a Stingray, played with a pick is outstandingly clear in a live band situation. A wonderful clear pick sound at the end.
  3. Great to hear the updates on Chowny, I was very impressed with the NT bass when it came out a few years back. The CHB-2 looks a killer too. Good luck to them.
  4. Naah it is one of these but it's a black one. HH and with a bound neck. A great gigging Gibson by all accounts. 2012 Gibson Les Paul Special HB Humbucker Tobacco Sunburst @GuitarFinds (SOLD) - YouTube Musikmesse 2012 Frankfurt - Gibson Les Paul Special - YouTube
  5. This was a rather rare Gibson guitar, made for only one year, that came with a gloss finish and fully bound neck. It comes with it's original case and a spare pickguard too. I don't know much about it to be honest other than it plays really well and all works as it should. It was gigged by the previous owner but is in pretty good nick. It has some marks on the front and back but that is to be expected as they were designed to wear apparently. It has a baked maple fretboard and 60s slim taper neck with Kluson Deluxe tuners. Frets are in good condition. The thin nitro finish means it won't choke your tone and wears quickly for that worn look. The 490R and 498T humbuckers combined with the all mahogany body and neck are cause for some serious sustain and tone. Manufacturer Info The new Les Paul Special returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played and loved shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. Originally introduced in 1955, the Les Paul Special has been embraced by musicians for over 60 years. It is based on the Les Paul Junior with a slab mahogany body, fat 50s-style mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, wraparound bridge, an additional rhythm pickup, binding on the neck and additional controls for the rhythm pickup and the 3-way toggle switch. Material: Mahogany Neck: Mahogany Profile: 60s Slim Taper Nut width: 1.695" / 43.05mm Fingerboard: Rosewood Scale length: 24.75" / 628.65mm Number of frets: 22 Nut: Graph Tech Inlay: Acrylic Dots Bridge: Wraparound Knobs: Black Top Hats Tuners Vintage Deluxe w/ White Buttons Plating: Nickel Neck: pickup 490R Bridge: pickup 490T Controls: 2 Volumes, 2 Tones & Toggle Switch (Hand-wired with Orange Drop Capacitors)
  6. New pics in natural light down the thread Background info: After the demise of my band and covid, I am no longer playing 5 strings and had 3 of them sitting around so I thought I would trade them in and get my "ultimate bass", which is this one. In my humble opinion it plays great as it sounds and is extremely versatile and it looks great under the lights. It is also lightweight at around 3.7kg😁 I'm now playing 4's more so don't need this and with new prices are heading towards 3K I want to free up tied up in this one. Just putting it out there to see if there is any interest. One careful owner, not even run in. It is as new with case and candy as hasn't left the house. Any trial welcome Pics are of the bass while at PMT. Trades: An FGN 4 with EMG's, a G&L1000. Try mw with something cheaper with a wad of cash my way. Manufactured January 27th, 2020 Model: StingRay Special 5 H Neck: Roasted Maple Neck Maple Fretboard Pickguard: White Pearl Pickguard 20 Hardware: Chrome Hardware Colour Ghostwood
  7. Candy apple I recon, it catches the light. You can see it better on the back.
  8. Hi all, I purchased this a short while ago and am not using. Reason? I also stuck a low bid on a Jazz on ebay and to my surprise won it. As I'm stepping into a band with an established sound, I'm using the jazz more so it is time to move this one on. Potential Trades: A preferably lightweight, black & dangerous long-scale bass that I can use as a backup on a planned tour. Thinking of headless basses like a Yamaha Bx-1, Washburn/Status, Fender MIM or Bass Collection (Jazzer or Mij), Ibanez ATK 810 or Sterling . I'll not go into great detail about the bass as it is as it was in Bassman Sams original post. It is nice condition, has a Seymour Duncan SPB-1 (Vintage P, replica of a Fender 57 P pickup) fitted and has had pup and bridge covers fitted in the past. A nice lightweight (8.3lbs) precision! It is the same as in the original post and hasn't left the house since it's purchase. It now comes without a case but I can box it to post. I prefer a swap with money either way. If not I can sell at the same price that I bought it for. Link and pictures below.
  9. Ouch! good price. I love my peerless version. They are great instruments
  10. I notice that Andertons have a whole bunch of G&L's for sale under £400. Includes LB's, JB's and fallouts. Maybe worth a look as they are great basses for the money.
  11. I think I may have owned this bass several years back...If so it a a really great example of a fretless P. Great classic sound. GLWTS
  12. I have the yellow version.....not playing bass in a band at the moment but it is a keeper. Awesome instruments. GLWTS.
  13. Sounds like a great choice...For general bass work I use an LR Baggs Stadium. I do all my recording with it asnd use it straight into the mixing bourd for live use. Compact, well built and it lets the character of the instument shine.
  14. Well, if they don't sell I'll have them. I could use the black and tort one in particular
  15. Last bump for now on this one. I'm bonding with so may sell something else. 🥰
