1.
This looks great, I have the long scale 5 string version XB75p, which sounds awesome. Carvin make great basses. Good luck with the sale.
+1 I also had one. Beauty and beast all rolled into one and a sound 2nd to none. Only traded recently for a 4 string. GL with your sale.
2. Really nice, classic looks for a classic bass. Unfortunately I can't justify another bass. GL with the sale.
3. Looks great. If its as good as the ASAT lead guitars it will be great! Check this sparkly number http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2ooUidNtOM
4. Lots of very relaxing stuff there. I voted-shame I could only vote for one as it was a tough choice.
5. Wow you don't see an Esh very often never mind one like that. The pups are bigger than a silent movie villains moustache.
6. I love the sound of these, I had a 1005 for a while. Good luck with the sale.

8. It looks the same as one my friend and I bought 2nd hand in 1985.
9. Thanks for the advice, I'm sorted now. I picked up an Orange Crush 35B off Gumtree locally. Nice bass tones and acceptable lead tones-not as nice as my Bandit but a lot lighter
10. Its beautiful, love the body and neck colour combination!
11.
No probs. Will do. I'm a crap guitarist, so let me know what's 'good' and what's 'bad' to you. Will be early next week before I'm back in Glasgow where the guitar and amp are. CB
I guess as long as it holds enough of the treble in comparison to a lead amp, thats as much as I can expect.
12.
I've got a Markbass 801. Best bass practice amp I've ever known. Let me know if you want me to try my Tele Custom through it. CB
Please do, I'd be interested to hear the results.
13. +1 on that. Anyway have you seen the Sandberg range of options? There is style in there to fit every image and a range of sounds to match.
14.
I have Pinballs old California Supreme and it's really grown on me.
Good glad that your getting on with it. I agree with you as I found it a do all bass. I was really happy with it but I had two Sandbergs at the time and I bonded with the other one I owned. The single coil pickups are great on Sandbergs and not to be underestimated. There is loads of sound options with them, especially with the active passive options. Try an Umbo sometime, it hits the spot for me.
15.
Roland Bass Cube 20XL for sale in this very parish! Has distortion, reverb, echo, compression, tuner, amp modelling, boost,etc............ Sounds good for bass and guitar.
That sounds the sort of thing I need to carry around, Thanks for the replies
16.
I've got a Markbass AC101 - sounds good with guitar and bass.
Thanks, a good suggestion-from what I have heard the Markbass stuff give a great "true" sound but It's out of my budget. Also the ac101 id designed for acoustic instruments isn't it? I'm all electric.
17. Hi I play both lead and bass and Its a big ask but I am hoping to find a small combo that I can use for both. It has to be light and portable but I'm still hoping for something that will give 20-50w. I tried an little ampeg with 8' speaker. It didn't really float my boat with bass but sounded OK with a telecaster through it. Suggestions? Roland cube 20? Ashdown? small rumble? Whats the best bet?
18. I played a 97/4 stringer in PMT and as you say "supercharged", awesome sound. I was desperate to buy it but wallet said no. If yours is as nice as that one someone is in for a treat.
19. All of the Sandberg's I have tried sound great but my advice would be to try before you buy. The double humbuckers definitely add more sound options so it all depends if you would use those options. There are also different makes of pickups to consider and also 2 or 3 band EQ options. Note: I found I got the sounds I wanted from the JJ's and am lucky enough to own a 2 band EQ JJ Panther (now called TT) and a Umbo passive bass. I hope that helps
20. Some updates on this old thread. Jam guitars are now web based only. PMT in Bristol are still going strong and normally have some interesting stuff on their wall, always good for Fenders. Treblerock have moved to a larger shop nearby in Clifton. They often have some interesting stuff (a good web site for seeing what is there) Mickleburgh have moved their guitar section and now have a better section Absolute guitars have just expanded into the shop next door so expect a better choice in the near future. In seems to me the few places that are left are upping their game!
21. It's great when everything works together to make an exceptional sound and its not always money dependent. Someone I know from this group described his P bass as "sonically right" and it was a gem, It cost me a bit more than yours but the same principe applies. Getting that for such a low price is amazing.
22. Interesting post, half of the battle is knowing when you have arrived at a good tone and sticking with it. I'm where I want to be in terms of both guitar and bass guitar tone. I have a long way to go in terms of technique though
23. ooh and photo's or a link to photo's will help sell it.
