1.
I'd love it. But would I be better getting back into playing with a four string first?
Only you can decide . Many 5's have very thin necks, the difference being in the width of the fret board and if its tuned for low B the top 4 strings are the same. I must admit that my most comfortable bass is a 4 stringer but migrating to 5's isn't that hard. The first question I would be asking is do I need 5 strings, if not stick to 4.
2. Thanks M8 I will. I'll maybe put them up with individual sets of pics to show them off at some point.
3. I love it as a usable bit of art. I appreciate the attention to detail. 10/10 A bit impractical and difficult to use though, I would prefer a less extreme relic maybe.
4. Hi, I fancy doing some experimenting so are there any sites out there that compare different makes and models of pickup and pre-amp.
5.
Clatter are well worth a listen - bass/drums duo,
Interesting sound from Clatter in particular. Big contrasts in sound.
6.
I'm not knocking nearly £100 off the price!
Quite right too!
7.
Now I was about to pull the trigger on one of them but I decided at the time to stay traditional and get the Fender American Standard Precision instead, purely because I don't really need the musicman vibe sound and it was a lot more expensive to justify the purchase, the Fender Am / St was £950 while the Sandberg was £1450
Interesting as I played a couple of California's a few weeks back and was well impressed. I can't recall the models but one had active humbuckers and the other passive Jazz. Both impressed and were mighty fine. Then last week I played new MIA Fender P and J basses and found them mighty fine as well. In terms of sound they were different. I liked them all but felt the fender J was maybe more of an all rounder, while the Sandburg seemed more specialised. It depends what style of music you play really.
8. apologies 350? That's my sons favourite, sounds as mean as it looks.
9. Hi, I need to sell one (or possibly all of these) as I just have too much gear in my house! Spector 4, tuned BEAD/35", as new and plays beautifully. save yourself £300 as I want £275 Dean Custom Edge Improv 5, a real looker/class bass in nice nick and plays well. £375. More info here. http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1 Yamaha TRB 1000/5, thunderous B string in nice condition and another great player. I may consider a trade for some powerful amplification that I can use at home or for light gigs-no combos. Priced to sell. PM me if you want more pictures of a particular model

12. Yep sure, I'll look forward to it. We can share a lift if you like and compare notes!
13.
I wouldn't get too hung-up on pick-up configurations. Don't get me wrong, P/J is plenty versatile enough, but it's more important that the bass you choose is comfortable to play, plays well and sounds good. How it meets these criteria is less important than the the fact that it does meet these criteria.
+1
14. Thanks Conan I'm trying out Status half rounds as I don't want something that is too bright. I'll probably give Carvin's own brand a shot sometime as Bass Gear will have them.
15. I want one of these but your too far away. Anyone got one around Bristol or the SW?
16. I see some of the exhibitors are listed and a direct link here: http://bristolguitarshow.co.uk/
17. Hi, also subscribed. Self taught and new to bass so I seriously need tuition! Never too old to learn stuff. Cheers
18.
Why not take that bass and make it INTO a cheap blonde bass that would be far more impressive
Aaah I thought about that but too much work. The sale price has to justify the amount of work I would put in.. If I just spray it all I need to do in terms of preparation is remove the strap.

Hi! :)

Hi from Somerset!
20. I have heard of guitarists who use them. Whatever you choose I would look for something that you can connect a microphone too as well as guitars. You never know you may want to record acoustically or to add words.
