Ordered a blue set so will post findings. Been using DR Neon and very happy with those so will have direct feedback , when the arrive
Please do, I've used neons and black beauties and find the DR coating a bit weird. I kept getting friction burns from them.
Short answer is, if you're not happy with them buy some new ones!
That's the plan...when I eventually get paid
If they are coated, they should (theoritically) never need boiling or immersing in alcohol. G.
I've worn the coating off in a few places, was considering boiling to add a wee bit extra life.
I wouldn't think the coating would be terribly happy about being boiled and subsequently lightly roasted.
That was my thoughts

Afternoon all, This is potentially a very stupid question. I've boiled strings in the past, boiled them, dried them in the oven and re-strung them. However, that was when I used regular stainless strings. These days, I use rotosound nexus strings, which (as you know) are coated. Can the boiling process still be applied to coated strings, without causing any harm/damage to them and/or the coating? If not the boiling part, what about the drying part? Cheers all, James
Lighter fluid. I get tired of saying lighter fluid but what the f***. Lighter fluid.
All I read was "lighter fluid" and thought, I bet he's tired of telling us that, before reading the rest :-p -
Cab rattle, buzz, distortion sound won't go
Jimryan replied to Jimryan's topic in Repairs and Technical
I've reduced it considerably by placing weight on the roof of the cab when using it. It's defo the cab. -
If you've not seen it announced on the relay FB page, BCer and relay contender Dave "Iamtheelvy" Elvy, has been in contact with Bass Guitar Magazine. He mentioned the relay and they said that they'd like to publish an article on in it. More on this as either of us knows. Cheers, James

Possibly, that's the beauty of it all, There's no definite plan. I'd like to think some can use it between the two, but who knows.
Oooh I have a gig on the 23rd in Stafford if it's nearby by then?
You'd have to speak to Rushbo as he has it now in Brum.

Afternoon all, As you know, yesterday, I was at LGBS with the relay bass, just thought y'all would like a we update. As I walked in, I found the bass gear stand, and situated immediately next to it I found bluejay and seashell in "BC corner". I added to BC corner with this: After meeting up with a few of you, I managed to get member Dmanlamius to play the bass in his video review of LBGS, which, as soon as I have the link, I'll post. Either way, in addition to the video, I managed to grab a photo: He then added himself to the t-shirt and went about his business. Managed to get a couple of other players too. First up, the always cheerful, always friendly (and BC member), Mr Steve Lawson And The delightful Yolanda Charles! Once all the excitement was other, as the show drew to an end, BC member Rushbo, stepped up to the plate and claimed the baton. It's now in the midlands guys. Do us all proud, and remember, I'm relying on you lot now for pictures :-p

The BC Baton is at BC Corner, waiting to for someone to step forward and take it. Or if a London member wants to meet locally after and meet up and collect we can do that. Just BC PM or Facebook me.

So the Baton will be at the London Bass Guitar Show tomorrow. Who fancies stepping up to the plate and taking the bass home with them?
