Nice, I'm loving that map. I think it's awesome. PM me the link/code/whatever for it and I'll add it to the "about" section on the FB page.
No idea how to sign up. Please let me know.
Hey buddy, drop me a PM including your full name, email, contact number/s, location and any additional info that'll help regarding collecting/dropping off the bass, and I'll get your details added to the list.
Good news everyone! Our headlining bassist for saturday is up for this too! The Baton may get two outings in one night!
Fantastic news Dave, I'd say keep the tshirt signing to members only though.

Sorry guys, site was down earlier and I've only just got home. Also, for those that aren't participating, there's a wee diary going around with the bass, I've added a few notes at the beginning, as follows:

I remember doing a gig a few years ago, turned up, one of the other bands bassist had one of those ashdown micro stacks. As I walked in, got a look that said "you're not using it, it's mine", I the. Proceeded to bring in my then current rig, a Marshall silver jubilee series full stack (I wonder where it is these days, was brought by a "collector" from Bristol), from there on everyone wanted to use that but it wasn't gonna happen. The same night, another band turned up, and their "bassist" was going around the lot asking to borrow a bass as he didn't own one.

Hi all, Simple one really. My P has a basslines MM pickup installed. It's currently wired in series, I'd like it in parallel. The SD site has a diagram for wiring with a pre, but I'm using it passive. I've got a handful of wires coming out of the pickup and don't know what goes where. I've tomorrow morning off, a soldering iron, but no diagram. Who can help? Cheers James
We're in the Eastney Cellars on Saturday night. Loading in 6pm-ish. Doors are open 7.30ish, but it is ticketed.
I'm there Friday :-p (apparently). Do you just want it for the night? When's best for you to grab it? You said you're busy evenings, I've tomorrow off work, failing that, it'd be evenings or Saturday morning for me.
Hey, I don't really have a free evening to pick it up from anywhere this week, but if it's still around Pompey at the weekend, I'd give a plunk for a song or two on Saturday.
Can do matey. Where are you playing?

Sorry I'm late guys, been busy. Gig was AMAZING. My favourite gig so far. Date: 16/02/2013 Location/venue: The Jolly Sailor, Portsmouth Band: Mr. Big Stuff, 8 piece funk, soul & Motown covers. Since I started playing, all I've wanted is a band with a horn section and one that people dance too. Saturday fulfilled both. For the duration of the gig I used my squier VM Precision, through a Polytune mini, and my DOD FX25b. From there I used the balanced out on the BH250 and straight through the PA. This was a great idea on paper, but resulted in me having to play near on the entire gig blind. When the time came, I donned the BC polo, reached for the baton, and ran through our rendition of Dee-Lite's "Groove is in the heart". I had a fantastic time, had a few drinks, even got ordered to do a solo during an extended break in "we are family". All in all, fantastic. Obviously, I'm aware that without photos, it never happened. They're only camera phone jobs, but people of basschat...here is your proof: Annoyingly, the only pictures I have (so far), I'm in serious mode. However, most of the night I was smiling and dancing.

It's a squier VM precision, currently with a Farida jazz neck, kitted out with SD basslines pickups. Yep, used my TC BH250 and ran it through the PA to make things easier.
I'm up in Purbrook, think a BC Portsmouth meet up would be a great idea, get a few pints in and chat about basses! Sounds like a perfect evening to me
Game on. I'm only in Farlington.
Brilliant mate Who did the bass get passed to?
No one from here that signed up came down. Assuming I make it to LBGS I'll bring it with me and pass it on from there.

Went well. I'll write a proper review when I actually wake up. As for pictures, plenty were taken (I think), I'm just waiting to get them back.
On another note, jimryan - you the guy from Mr Big Stuff? We saw you guys last night (couple huddled by the door as you loaded in through the revoloving doors)! Excellent set! I started out on blues and soul stuff, so got that sort of groove down fairly well, but never quite managed the disco 'bubbling' bassline.
I sure am, really enjoyed playing all that last night, Glad you enjoyed it too. Yes, that revolving door was a pain, when we started using the side door and asked people to let us through with the gear, a few guys got quite jumped up about it.
