Chrismanbass, that was my back up. I've a tin of white spray paint left over from earlier this year. I'm just surprised no manufacturers have thought of making some.

I rarely use picks, but always keep one hanging out the scratch plate. Will only use dunlop oranges though.

I was looking at these last night as I'm after a white set. Will be interesting to see if anyone has tried them.
Went into Nevada Music last week as it is my local shop and I'm looking for my next bass, luckily they had a 4003 this time and I asked to try it out and the first thing the guy said was, "You actually gonna buy something then?" I thought I'll let it slide as I can't really get elsewhere currently due to lack of transport. The guy ended up plugging me into an Ashdown Tour bus, so after I badgered him into letting me try it through a worthwhile amp, still out on the shop floor right next time their radio system so had some god awful feedback coming through I decided yes this is the bass I wanna buy but I don't want the mapleglo finish, so I hand the 4003 over to him and he instantly scanned it into the till and said how are you paying for it. I walked out and I am NEVER going to go back in there! Horrible shop, rubbish stock of a few Fenders, millions of ESPs and Ibanez basses with the occasional MM or Ric. Note to Nevada store guy, that is not how to give customer service and convince someone to buy from you!
I get a pretty similar experience in there which is why I try to avoid them. They were always rude in the old north end shop years ago too. If I really must use them, I'll buy on their webpage and then go and collect it as they're next to my house. Jamesbass - you're better off going and speaking to george at PJ's guitar on Highland road in Southsea. They've looked after me for years and he had a Ricky quite recently too.

And also now I've got to my dad's a TC Electronic Corona Chorus, but I don't need it :-( -
Morning all, How many of you have put up unwanted/unneeded gifts yet? Got a TC Electronic Corona Chorus. Completely unused, the box was opened to take a picture and that was all. Comes with a USB lead, booklet and obviously the box :-P I don't really use effects anymore so I won't need this. Trade wise, the only things I'm after is a jazz neck for a project or a pretty decent compressor but might be tempted by other items, Failing that how does £70 inc UK postage sound? Nope. Not at all, you can use the aux in with either the cab or headphone options.

When I started playing I didn't own and couldn't afford a bass, but a mate had guitar. So I learnt chords and solos and what not and inbetween those I'd learn basslines on the guitar. The considerably smaller string spacing improved my right hand finger picking technique immensely. When I finally got my first bass I took to it no problem. These days I own a strat but I've not played it for about 3 years. Just stick to bass, but will happily play both, bass is the definite favourite though. Naturally. James

I've had one a few weeks now. Love it to pieces. Fantastic sound, sounds great with my 1x15. Only used it at one rehearsal and man did it deliver. It was up against and orange 2x12 and a another one that was powered by a Mesa triple rectifier. For practice, just iPhone in, headphones out and again it's fantastic. The toneprint's a great feature too. Still waiting on the pedal though, but I'll probably be swapping that for the foot switch.

do you ever air bass when you hear a track..
Jimryan replied to bubinga5's topic in General Discussion
More often than I should. -
So, I was sat in the pub the other night and got a phone call. Am I free New Year's Eve? Yeah, why? We need you to play a gig for us, don't worry, it's paid and accommodation will be provided. Awesome, I was sold at the "play a gig part" the extras are a bonus. Thus my wish to gig before this year is through has been answered. Plus my new rig and new bass will have their first official outing :-D I need to learn 50ish songs in 2 weeks. No biggy, most I can do, learn or already know. There is one on my list I'm struggling with. I always learn by ear with no problems, though this bassline normally phases me and I cannot find a decent tab to save my life. So, Can any help me with a transcription of Al Green's let's stay together? If I've got this infront of me I'll learn it in minutes, but by ear will take up time learning the rest. If anyone can help many thanks, if said help is from someone that will be in petersfield on NYE, I'll get you a pint. Many thanks, James
