1. sounds interesting, any pics of one? I suppose half the logic behind this I want to sort of experience the process too. The only mod I've ever done is install straploks. I've always wanted to have a go at heavily modding something.
2. Valid point. The body to be precise. I looked into buying a finished body, but would have to wait to play until all the parts arrived. With this one, I can keep using it as I modify it, plus I love the weight of it...at the moment. Wasn't too keen on the sound in the shop, but sounds ok through my HH.
3. Just got a squier precision for a project. Anyone wanna swap a precision neck for a jazz neck? The precision neck in question has a lovely rosewood board and is off of a squier VM precision. I'm ideally after a maple board jazz, preferably with blocks. Doesn't even need to be branded as I'm planning on painting the headstock anyway. I am willing to add te difference too :-)

5. So... My day started with our very own Merlin coming down to buy my DB. After a coffee and a chat, off I went around the local guitar shops to find me a cheap back-up 5er. First shop, no luck. On my way to the second, got soaked through so dived in my local. Second shop, no luck. Third shop, saw how bumped up their prices where and quickly left. This left me only one store left. So... got the bus to Nevada music. After trying all the 5's for the price I was after, still no luck. However, on the way out I saw something. Spotted it, tried it, was ok, but gave me a thought. This could lead onto my first build. This is what I got... A Squier Vintage Modified p. Now, over the years, I've always hated precisions. well, not all of them. Just the neck, really, and until joining BC never considered a build. All I knew is that I wanted a white p. This was the perfect specimen. It's the lightest bass I have ever tried/owned. Good start. This is where the advice begins. My plans are as follows, but would like ideas and suggestions. First off, the neck has to go. I want a jazz neck. After that, the electronics. I'm torn between some basslines quarter pounders and a MM just behind it. Or, delano's, a large pole split coil with a hybrid at the bridge. Thoughts? After that, the bridge, I'm thinking of a schaller 3D bridge or a hipshot A type. Then later on, straploks and a D-tuner. Still no idea on a pre (unless I use the delano's where I'll use a Sonus). As for hardwear, black ideally. Overall thoughts?
6. This morning Merlin and Mrs. Merlin drove down to a very rainy Portsmouth, and bought my DB from me. Great guy, had a chat, a coffee and he was on his way. Great guy to deal with and a pleasure to talk to. I wouldn't hesitate in dealing with him again.
7. Under £1500? Im considering moving mine on due to lack of use/space and I need to fund another bass. It's one of the gear4music ones (the more expensive of the two). I got it to learn DB on, so I understand the begginer/needs to be playable point. Where it's been a few months, she has settled down nicely. It's this one: http://www.gear4musi...ss-and-Case/1O6 I got it back in May for £450, gigged it once but still in great condition, just the odd mark on the finish. I've still got the hardcase, gig bag, bow and rosin plus a small pickup I bought for it to use it live. a bit ambitious but I'm hoping to get around the £330 mark as that covers the cost of what I'm hoping to get. 17. Dont suppose you'd consider an EHX big muff in a trade?
18. Evening, Quite simple really. I've a EHX big muff (guitar version) and want a Boss ODB-3. I have the box and leaflets. Anyone want to swap? It's not been gigged and barely used. James

SOLD

I have a Squier VM fretless jazz in sunburst (no pickguard Jaco style, but it came with a tort one that I still have). Hoping for £150 as it'll be funding parts for a build, but open to offers. Ideally I'd like to deal in person as I've no bag/case for it. Now for some pictures: http://s1258.photobu...i527/jimryan88/ I'm the second owner of it (only had it a few months) and bought it for £275. The previous owner apparently upgraded the bridge (high mass?), pickups and bizarrely added a second jack socket that doesn't work. I have fitted it with Dunlop straploks.
20. Don't get me wrong, I do like josh. I just feel he's trying too hard to be John, right down to the same guitars when I saw them last. "I'm with you" was a goo album and sounded more like the chili's should, I'm interested in seeing how they and josh will develop when he's more settled and brings his own taste and style to the band.
21. Glad you enjoyed it. I've still got mixed feelings on Josh. To me he's not the new guitarists but just trying to be another John. As for the performance, gutted I missed it. I saw them at O2 last year and it was like watching a tribute band. Must've just been having an off night. However, when I saw them at Hyde park they were phenomenal.
22. Ooooooo pretty. I want, I want, I want. Shame I can't afford it right now :-( Humour me though, does it play and sound as good as it looks?
