1. I recorded this YT-thing for some Dutch bass players to give an impression of the sounds I'm getting from my Sandberg. Plenty of noodling but the comment is Dutch spoken I'm afraid.. Might still be informative enough for those who just want to listen to the bass. Bottomline for me : I'm using the midboost all of the time ànd it's not that easy to get a creamy P-sound out of it even with the bass boosted.. Hope you get something out of this and sorry for too many notes sometimes.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9GylZJDEYE
2. Some time ago I played a gig with this hornplayer. He's got his own band, nice groove.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AxF_gyf_JC8&feature=share
3. Best playing I've heard in a long time in that video you posted...
4. Very kind words ...I have some spare time soon and I'll come around to get an idea of the sound.. It's always nice when we meet so whatever the conclusion is it'll be worth the trip.. Good luck with the sale and cu soon, Dave
5. Actually never played one like this before but perhaps it's for the best..something tells me that there's a possibilty I might get hooked on it and do foolish things...:-)
6. Bought one the other week and really pleased with it... thanks for the advice.
7. Maybe weird but I've never been a fan of the original song and a lot of the repertoire of TOP I find very slick... I actually prefer this version above the original one..
8. Just to say that Martin is a trustworthy seller and whoever buys his basses won't regret it.. Good luck with the sale..
9. My Sandberg.. I've owned around 120 basses (from Wal to Fodera, from Alembic to Ken Smith) but this one rules them all.. bought it for 800 euros second hand and it growls and punches..Amazing bass, I could eat it..
10. Too bad that the enthousiasm is getting low, Dave...especially since you're a great player with lots of energy and a big heart for the bass. Hope to see you somewhere around since it's always fun whenever we meet.. Good luck with the sale, I understand some of the sentiments you share (I'm also less motivated every now and then) but luckily the sound of bass still soothes my soul.
11. It says "trade" so he doesn't need to put a price...Beautiful bass !
12. Bump Things go fast around here, I was already on page 4 :-) Received some offers but whoever gives the final "yes" gets it...not really in a hurry since it is actually a fun bass to have.
13. Beatles...though lately been listening to a lot of McCartney solo. Such great tunes and an immense repertoire : Smile away, 1985, Eat at home, Let me roll it, Junior's farm, Letting go, Listen to what the man said, Getting closer, Cafe on the left bank, The Other me, Girls school, Daytime nighttime suffering, Treat her gently, Jet, Take it away, Helen Wheels.......the list goes on. Whatever he does, he brings me joy when I put his music on (haven't had another artist who does that in that way)
14. Just acquired this bass quite recently and after trying it out live a couple of times I keep going back to my beloved Sandberg bass..The neck of this Fender is actually faster than the Sandberg but there is something in the sound of the Sandberg which I'm really fond of. Since I'm after a nice Status Kingbass I'm putting this bass for sale..To be honest I rarely get really attached to instruments anymore and I change quite a lot. I'm asking 1200 euros for it and it comes along with a brown Fender-case..Koa top, noiseless jazz pu's, active bass, mid, treble, volume, balance Bass can be picked up in Belgium but I can ship it to the UK for around 25 euros. I have a good feedback here on bass.chat so there is a chance to check my credibility around here.. If you have anymore questions feel free to email me.. Not really looking for trades (except for a Kingbass, we can discuss the details). Thanks for looking.. Geert
15. Didn't think there would be a bass-police here on bass.chat...
16. Perhaps not everyone's piece of cake but I consider this to be funky and groovy... Amazing what McCartney does on this track..a growly funky bass-sound and great fills. Those who ever doubt how great Paul plays,,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRCgueckAXE
17. Enjoyed it.... what an amazing drummer, by the way...wow.
18. Strange that this bass is still around at this tempting price..the "damage" wouldn't bother me at all since it's located rather out of sight. These are killer basses... I've owned more than a hundred basses but this particular model beats a lot of more expensive basses imo. I've been using my Sandberg for quite a while now and I've sold Fender and Wal basses because of it...
19. There is a notorious bassplayer over there who has a great Fodera-collection :-)
