1. Thanks for listening and glad to hear that it pleases the ear.. when you make it yourself you can't judge anymore so thanks for the feedback
2. Thanks for the kind feedback ..Sorry that I didn't react earlier but I had forgotten about this topic since I'm busy with moving from one house to another. Basses were recorded at my home and the rest of the musicians (including the horn-section) were recorded in a proper studio.. Nice to hear some of the tracks are appreciated and thanks for the bump Basic 5 !
3.
I used to play this in a previous band. The bass player on the track was T.M. Stevens, and it's his typical style. It's a difficult line to master - loads of ghost notes on the G part. The guy in the vid seems to have nailed it. Keep at it.
A fellow bass-player met TM Stevens recently and asked him to play the bassline of this song and he couldn't nail it anymore..
4. Lovely song... like a breath of fresh air. Really enjoyed that.. Wish I could be more in bands where the public comes to listen rather than being "amused".
5. This clip is a proof that someone is actually buying stuff here on BC.. Recorded this clip this morning with stuff all bought last month here on BC.. an F-Bass, an Accugroove speaker and a Epifani UL902 (thanks Pierre Ganseman, Niceguyhomer and BigJim !)
6. Like I said... always welcome around here, you never know :-) Thanks Alan !
7.
Contradiction as in you don't believe me, or contradiction in that it doesn't make sense to do it? If the contradiction is about why a person would do it - who knows!!!!! Maybe they think that they can't get top price in their own country, but the UK buyers have more money (perception, not necessarily the truth), so they'll chance a higher price with them.
That was the thing I meant...not that I don't believe you. My own experience is that when I sell certain basses in my own country (Belgium) the market is a lot smaller. I get the impression that they're not interested in high-end boutique basses around here in my country and are more Fender-Ampeg based. When I put something for sale around here I know I'm gonna reach a European "audience" which I don't find in my own country. But the prices I put up around here are the same than those on other sites (which I rarely use since they seem to be less effective). I don't think that the British are "rich".. Like I said : I can reach a bigger bass-community around here.
8. Bought an Accugroove speaker from Alan and just a great person to deal with.. Everything went just smooth and he took all the time and trouble to get this safely to Belgium. Highly recommended and thanks a lot for caring, Alan !
9. But isn't there a contradiction in saying that some members are bumping their prices up while meanwhile one is complaining that nothing sells around here ?
10. I think I have bought around 10 items around here on bass-chat and every time it worked out really well.. People shipped the basses and amps without any problem to Belgium and the contacts were correct and polite. I've sold some stuff too and you do get the odd question.. I sold a Status King Bass and I got a couple of calls from someone in France with some questions like "What does it sound like ?" "Well, it sounds like on the records of Level 42.." "Euhm..I've never heard of that band".. "Well, it's Mark King who plays these basses" "Oh, does it sound like a Fender ?" Etc.... In the end I held the phone against my amp and played the bass and he bought it... But the stuff which is for sale around here is every bassplayers' dream and like I said : great people to deal with. I sold a vintage '66 Jazz and had to take a lot of pictures, take it apart, had to answer a lot of questions but since it was a 3500 euro bass, people have the right to know what they buy when they're dealing with that amount of money..
11. It's réally flashy but I love it !
12. Thanks for a great bass, Pierre.... just plugged it in here at home and it is amazing ! I knew these basses were good but this one blows me away..
13. Tu habites loin de Vilvorde ? Je suis un peu intrigué par la basse...Peut-etre je peux l'essayer mais à l'autre coté : c'est possible que j'ai envie de l'acheter :-) In English : where are you based exactly in the Brussels area ?
14. Our band performing on tv this week with our Stones "cover"-band... Pedulla fretless straight into the DI and rather small monitors but we pulled it through... Intonation could be better from time to time but I like taking a risk every now and then, safe is a bit boring..

BigJim

Bought an Epifani amp from Jim and no trouble shipping it to Belgium and everything worked just fine... thanks !
16. I'm aware of the fact that not a lot of people react in this section of bass-chat so I'll just give it a bump... :-) 61 viewers and maybe a couple of them have actually listened so I'm not complaining !
17. As long as it's 4ohm then I'm okay with it so would be no problem for me... :-)
18. On hold-sale pending
19. Used to be my bass...it's the Celinder (I bought from Crazy Kiwi) you see in the Bass-chat Banner .. It's BC-er "bass-agent" in the clip.
20. "Shagadelic, Mrs Kensington !"
21. Merci, Claude :-) Had a couple of emails but nothing definite..
22.
Here's a short clip of me playing a funk line on upright.
I always feel respect for that hard work upright bassplayers have... on electric it's just a lot easier. Nice thing which you have going and I love the feel and your timing, great ..
