What a fantastic buy! I've just bought one of these. And am currently adding the same mods as this, to make it JV spec (spiral bridge/reverse tuners etc) the quality is exactly the same as the JV's (I have one of those too). I'd prefer the burst finish, but I'm still happy with my black one. Great bass, whoever buy it will be very happy.

Got this recently with a bass purchase, and after spending £130 on mods, I need to claw some back. Its Gators economy line but its extremely well made. Sturdy and offers loads of protection but really light too. I may keep this yet,as its the first hardcase I've had that I'd be inclined to use. It's plywood with PVC covering and fur interior with a storage compartment. It's in as new condition. Sold

Bought this very recently as I'm gigging again and take two basses, unfortunately(or fortunately, delending on your needs) it's built like a tank, and with all my cables/mic/accessories etc, it's too damn heavy to carry. I also car share and its too big to fit in (perfect for the van though) This really is a fantastic bag, with all the storage you could want, but as well as being waterproof, it comes with a handy raincover. Fleece lined with a neck pillow and plenty of room for all types of Basses. Pretty much new, and I've had to stop using it, so someone with better transport may have more use than I, such I shame as its the pooches dangles, I may eventually get a single one. £125 incl UK only delivery Do I really need to say the basses arnt included 🤣

Having a clear out, up for sale is my MXR Bass Octave Deluxe. Great versatile Octave pedal with two blendable voices, Growl emulates the middy OC2 tone, while Girth is a deep and smooth EBS type of tone. On the whole it's quite a tight abd clean sounding octave which works great in boomy rooms. It also features a switchable mid boost, which can go between 400 and 800HZ and trimpot to boost up to 14 dB. This boost affects the clean signal. It is one of the best tracking octavers I've used, and works well with active basses. As ive already got an Octo Nojs and an Aguilar Octamizer as well as a C4 (so many OC2 Emulations) it's surplus. In very good condition, with very high quality velcro fitted, however it appears to have two screws missing on the Base, it's securely fitted, but I'll source new ones prior to delivery. It's also in its box with all the box candy, which we know makes the pedal sound better. SOLD

Ive used Earlpilanz a couple of times. He's great, send him your original plate and he'll copy it. His Dark Red and Vintage Dark Torts are delicious. [email protected]

Absolutely, but ive a couple of Spectors too (Euro 4 and 5) but if the need ever arose, I could happily gig the two squires. Mind you I now have Gas for a 90s Stingray 5 🤣

Wow! I quite like that. I regrettably didn't get on with the Short scale, but definitely convinced me of Sires quality/cost ratio. It definitely proves that quality instruments are available at a realistic price. Also as you say I'd rather gig a decent cheaper bass, than my beloved 82 JV jazz or my spectors at the various "colourful establishments" around lancaster and Morecambe 🤣

Bit late with this one, as ive been doing a little light cosmetic Modding. I recently bought this Black 83 SQ Squire Precision from the always fantastic ead. I've owned a white JV jazz for the last 30 years and always wanted a Precision counterpart, but they've gone fairly expensive. These were made at the same time as the JV's but at a lower price point as they weren't vintage reissues, but a standard style P bass for the time (pretty much a 70s style). The quality is on par with my JV it's fairly light for a 40 year old MIJ, it came with a fairly chunky fender style bridge, which looked very shiny compared to the nice mojod tuners. I had a Gotoh Reliced vintage Bridge which I fitted as well as some reliced Barrel knobs. I've also replaced the original black pickguard with what I believe is a Bass Doc burgundy Tort(sourced by our own Walshy), which has been nicely reliced so in keeping with the bass (NOTE- despite being an MIJ bass, I have fitted two USA spec pickguards, so it is a true 70s spec) The neck was also lightly sanded, it felt so nice, I took the neck off my JV jazz and lightly sanded it with wire wool (0000) abdcits lovely and matt now. It had also been upgraded with a CTS Kiagon loom and a fender original 62 pickup, it sounds very warm and smooth, I'm very smitten with this bass😍 it came with some lovely TI flats, which as much as I love I find flats don't cut through live (for me anyway) so I've put a set of fairly new DR Pure Blues, which actually have a very warm abd smooth midrange and sound very nice when worn in. Such a great bass and such high quality for a supposed "budget" instrument, I think they just used much nicer woods I those days.

Beautiful Bass, Anders, I had a Sire U5 short Scale for a wile and I was stunned by how good it was, and ie owned a lot of expensive Basses. One of my next purchases (probably early next year) will be a 5 string V5 jazz, I Need to see if they do that colour with a maple board. I have a Sadowsky Preamp pedal, that is just a fantastic thing, adds clarity and fatness with sounding overly (active) I even use it with my Spectors

Got a new P bass abd did the usual try a few and see what's best thing. This is the Red/Black from Guitars Electric, brand new and fitted for only a couple of days before I got a reliced burgundy one. Now I fitted this to an MIJ 83 SQ Squire P abd it was a perfect fit, however the website states its fir USA/MIM basses, but testimonials have stated these can fit Korean Squires with a bit of filing. This is the blurb PRECISION BASS Scratch Plates in 9 Colours – designed to fit Mexican & USA Precision Bass screw hole configuration. May also fit import P-Bass Style guitars, including Fender Squiers. Some drilling of one or two holes maybe required due to the many differences of hole spacing by worldwide guitar manufacturers. SOLD
