my usa 5 thinking of selling /trying to sell/ very confused!!!! not sure what to do???
I'D MUDWRESTLE MY OWN MOTHER FOR A CRACK AT THAT BASS!!!!! just gorgeous shame your selling, spectors just look and sound so good
2. oooohh yes i do, but wont afford it in a very long time, been watching david dyson playing one of these on youtube and im blown away by his tone, great basses and this is a stunning example- bump
3.
You're both MORE than welcome chaps
Hey Gary while we're all picking your brains, ive been having another browse through your collection and you,ve a few euros, how would you compare the tone and build quality of the early all maple versions and the current alder/walnut/maple LX versions?, ive played a couple of Lx's breifly in the past and liked them, but not spent an amount of time to really get a feel for them. Cheers mate
4.
It sure is still here. You're more than welcome to come and give it a try; I'll even throw in a free cup of tea or coffee and use of 'the facilities' .
cheers mate That would be great, bit of a trek for me though, if it was originally going at that price(when i had cash to spend) i would have had it straight away, its a beauty, do you have any soundclips? huge bargain price for a truly stunning bass - bump!!!!
5. I would love to try this i miss my old ken smith, great price too - bump!!
6.
Here's my more modest contribution - a recent acquisition, my NS-2JR-A. It's a 2008 Czech reissue of the 1983 original, with 83 of each colour (black, White and Natural) available worldwide. Very happy to have mine, the active EMGs making for a nice super-Jazz, if not perhaps to traditional Spector specifications. Sorry they're a bit lop-sided. I bought the wife an iPad for anniversary - haven't mastered it!!! Bass/hound crossover!
Thats lovely,i'd like one in white, a nice alternative to the usual PJ arangment, just like gene simmons twin jazz spector.
7. seems while managing my attachments ive wiped off my last pics, DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have got soe better ones though courtesy of its previous owner Machinehead (cheers frank) [atta c hment=78747:Spector_re_done6.jpg]
8.
A couple more pics for your viewing pleasure
Ive just noticed the middle laminate in the neck is flamed, NICE!!!! i dont think ive seen that before, probably very usual though
9.
Here are some pics of the bass Sorry about the dodgy photography, but I'm sure you'd agree she's a real beauty!
Thats absolutely stunning mate, my spector is a 2001 so has the all maple body too, they also have the full brass bridge too (i believe, the wonderful cetera will be able to confirm this) very crisp cutting sound but loads of bottom too, i'd love a 4 string to go with it, you/ll probably find yours is closer to doug whimbish's spector than the current euro lx version, i believe yours will be known as a NSCR4 FM. Give me a shout if you move it on
10. Is this still here? thats just wrong, fantastic bass at a great price,as i said i wouldnt mind this myself, wish i could A/B with my spector and see if i made the right choice back in december- another bump for this stunner!!

Pointy

AAAWW i really love this thread, its a shame ive nothing pointy to post, but i am gassing for an old kramer forum2 or a jackson kip winger and ive always had a soft spot for BC RICH mockingbirds, thanks for the great pics guys
12. Is this the one that belonged to bassbluestew? i was very close to buying this myself from him but went with a pimped up spector (which is the dogs doodahs i must admit) looking at this im having a slight pang of regret, the OW would probably suit the theatre and function gigs i do a bit better than the spector, a rediculous bargain, absolutely stunning i think i want it, BUMP
13. I would love this myself, alas funds are non existent, could it be used to add a bit of tube warmth to an amp sound too? it states its a preamp so i suppose it would, ideal for smoothing out my spector huge bump!!!
14. I used the rotobass cheapy ones when i started playing and i liked them, mind you i ended up breaking the G string every other week and had to buy a new set, D'addarios are the best strings for the money especially if you buy the double sets works out very cheap indeed, they sound fantastic when you first put them on but die very quickly and sound awful!! i used them for many years while i was a pro player but then i'd change tem religously every month (silly lad)
15. Have to add my endorsement to this amazing amp, the TD650 is my favourite head ever, i had one for a while and adored it, i have the HD 350 now and bloody love that too, if i had the cash id love to upgrade as i liked the valve option- huge bump for the bargain of the week
16. i like that very much have a huge bump on me,great looking bass, and rumours are amazing!!!!!
17. You,ve had that bass a while Josh, its done well!!! a lovely example!! i can understand the return to warwick/spector ive got a really nice spector 5 at the mo and loving it, deal with Josh in confidence he's a top bloke
18. very cool i like it, im still gassing for a Kramer forum 1 NT with archtop body!! in black or red, this would do if i had the cash - big bump i think pointy headstocks should be fashionable again
19. Thats one great looking bass, id love a 4 string version in that colour
20. IGIG bags are fantastic and worth every penny, im sure mark can ship one to italy for you
21.
It's so good, that I may find myself moving away from Spectors completely and using the Progress range full time, I utterly love this instrument.
AARRGGG!!! Dont say that, i had a choice between my spector and a very lovely Overwater perception and i went for the spector, now ive always been a spector fan, but iv,e always wondered wether i made the right choice, my spector is lovely too, i think ill have to have both ive only played one overwater and it was amazing so whoever gets this is a lucky so and so!! E to C sounds very interesting- bump!!
22. Doh if id seen this earlier i'd have took your arm off, i want a pointy bass
23. Ive always loved the idea of three jazz pickups, i remember as a kid in the late 80's seeing an advert for a squire HM jazz bass which had three jazz pickups and a 5 way strat style selector i thought it was really cool. if the big al pickups were available on a sterling body i'd be drooling OH!! and of course the fender urge with a J/P/J setup now i'd love to try one of those, sadly discontinued!!
24. Thanks for that mate, they might be worth a try i do manage to get mr DR high beam B into the slot of my 2001 CR5FM but it is a squeeze.
25. If Spector,EBS. and DR strings would endorse me i'd be very happy to use them oh and possibly Ginsters pasties and banrock station
