1. shame, it wouldve been ideal, these are great cabs, i love em!!
2. Dont suppose you'd PX with an accugroove TRI 110l and cash, just a feeler though as i'd have to find the cash I mostly use one of these and add a 2nd for bigger gigs and they put out a lot of tone, but ive been toying with the idea of getting rid of one to get an 8ohm 2/4x10 for rock gigs and use the other tri for a monitor, BTW the tri110 with a MB head would make a great amp for small gigs and home practice.
3. i must admit BASS#1 for me and i played a streamer lx for along time, #2 had a lot more bite, but i preferred 1 just goes to show it's all in the hands
4. that is one beautiful looking bass, i've always wanted to try a wood n tronics and i can add my endorsement of james he's a gent and a pleasure to deal with some lucky **&^%%% is going to love this bass - bump!!
5. Hi everyone just to mention i will be playing with my rock band "blind panic" and 4 other local rock bands at joshua brooks in manchester sunday march 27th, in aid of BEAT a charity helping the victims of eating disorders, there will be various kinds of rock to suit everybody. It would be fantastic to meet any basschatters there and have a beer and support this fine cause. cheers - Lee
6. Ive said it before, but this is the finest example of a euro lx ive seen, the quilting isnt far off a full on USA custom build, i wish i had the cash for this it would complement my spector 5 very well, its quite similar to the doug wimbish signature in looks, just stunning - sorry you couldnt keep it ive been there myself massive bump it wont be here long - lee
7. I bought an emerald green one back in 2008 it had the lovely slim wenge neck it was my main bass for over 5 years and i sold it to get a 1999 NT streamer stage 1 and i tell you what the LX was a better bass, i wish i had the cash to get this from you, great playing BTW - bump
8. Trust me with this rig you WILL!!! be heard, ive got the head and used to have a proline 4x10 only sold it because of the size and weight, but the quality of tone is outstanding, i want another one- big bump for this huge bargain!
9. Where you doing the show? i might pop along! ive been asked to play for this three times now and ive always been booked on somthing else a shame i'd love to play it, some really nice lines, mostly rock and roll and a lot of fun!! im jealous!!
10. congratulations on a great buy. spectors are amazing,i want a 4 string euro in black cherry to go with my 5
11. Gary im so skint its unreal at the moment, but i would love this so much (i would even get the EMG'S for it)- somebody please buy it, it's driving me mad!!! BUMP!!!!
12. Aye mate a long journey indeed!! you got there in the end though!! im still loving the spector it sounds fantastic, i doesn have the warmth of my smith though but the high end is there in spades the east pre does help the warm it up with a bit of treble cut and the bass boost is enormous, i do find IMO that EQ' ing a bass to make it warmer isnt the same as a naturally sounding warmth from the wood combinations (i try to use as little EQ as possibe, with the smith i didnt need any) it is quilted but the quilting isnt anywhere near as figured as your smith. Im not sure what the GN stands for but the MW stands for maple and walnut,as mine had a flamed maple centre block and core with a walnut top and back, the main diffrences between that and yours, is the MW is a bolt on neck and has a pau ferro fingerboard, while yours is neck through and has an ebony board, i think yours has a mahogany core and the quilt maple top, pickups and electronics are the same, yours i a much higher spec'd model, im not sure if ken still does the GN model, its a bloody killer bass though. Promise me you'll never be skint and have sell it (unless it's to me )
13. Congrats on the WAV derren, they are great instruments for the money, i had one for a while and loved it, but hardly used it, as i played a reading gig on it(i'd only had it three weeks as well) and my intonation was well off i lost my bottle after that and i relly regret selling it, i'll definately get another one (probably an NXT),keep gigging that beastie!!
14. Congratulations stewart, that is an absolutely stunning example, i absolutely adore ken smiths, and i will have a black tiger 5 one day, when i had my BSR5 MW it worked really well with my EBS HD350 and accugroove cabs as the heads high end worked well with the smiths warmth, and the cabs are very natural sounding, whenever i used mine, i always got compliments on the sound, it's not for everybody but for me its perfect. i set up a smith thread in the gear porn section, get some more pics for us to drool over really glad your dream came true, actually your little story has really cheered me up today- cheers mate
15. Thats a fantastic example of a spector euro, its got the nicest quilt ive seen on one, very similar looking to the doug wimbish model, there's lots of spector love on her especially from me, and the cracks aren't that bad- bump
16. It looks almost olympic white in the pics, i do love sonic blue on a jazz!
17.
I tell you what lads, it feels like sitting in front of a roaring log fire you built yourself from cherry wood, sipping a glass of the finest warm, rich and smoky single malt, and telling your queen you caught a 68lb common carp of the Donald Leney strain from Redmire Pool today, while she smiles at you with deep, lustrous shining eyes. That's what it feels like.
Do you know what! im happy for you thats got to be the best description of a bass tone feeling ever, and listening to your clips it does sound gorgeous!! i'll hopefully be putting an east pre and black beauties on my JV jazz next month. Many congratulations- does this mean an end to GAS
