1.
Hi Matt Brian Barret at The Low End in the US has an ultra-rare Smith BMT Elite fretted 6 for sale at the moment. These are the best Smiths of all IMO (I used to own one, as well as numerous other BSRs). I know it would mean buying sight unseen from the US, but I'd be astonished if it was anything less than incredible, and expensive. Cheers Gareth
WOW!!! thats amazing, put the series/parallel switches in and lose a string and i,d have my perfect smith right there, i feel a smith porn thread coming on. Thats ya baby matt right there, might need to add another 2k to your budget though lee
 2. You got the gas then mate smiths are lovely!! a very unique sound and took a bit of getting used too i found!!! absolutely love mine now though!! giz a shout if your in bolton!! - lee

 10. i think i went to newcastle college with this fellow when i was young(he was a bit older mature student - lol) gave me some great advice on adding a bit of mids in a very sh*t sounding hall, mind you my sound at the the time was a jv squire jazz using the back pickup only, as i was going through my jaco phase honking like mother goose- nice fellow if its the same person i remember being told he was in the tygers of pan tang, id never acually heard of them though, but i did get a coloured record of theirs though= great bass and the same as mine- lee
 11. Hi everyone Due to 2010 ,s relentless assault on my finances im having to let go of a couple of my gadgets SADOWSKY PREAMP/DI PEDAL ( SOLD!!! ITS GONE) You all know what this is, very recently bought by me from the excellent bosshog ive only gigged it once and its fantastic, i used it in a show with my ken smith and it warmed up the sound no end, fantastic quality, i got it to use with my jazz and im pretty sure its the perfect circuit for the humble fender, i will eventually get one fitted to the guitar. Anyway its in great nick and with spice up your jazz bass no end £120 incl delivery RADIAL BIGSHOT I/O INSTRUMENT SWITCHER ( ALSO SOLD) This is such a handy piece of kit, but its not that often i take two basses to gigs, built like a tank it has a mute facility and a bright switch which is great for adding a little sparkle to passive basses , one channel has a volume control to match the instrument levels when switching between them, it had a rubberfoot missing when i got it, so itook them all off to stop it wobbling, once again ive used it twice - £50 incl delivery ive no pics at the mo but will get some up at the weekend- thanks for looking - lee

 14. I used to have an identical one to this, absoutely fantastic basses, they sound great but are a bit solid in the weight dept ( all that lovely wood) i very foolishly overdid the boozing one month as a student so had to sell it to pay my rent, the swine in a shop gave me £125 and made out he was doing me a favour if only id known!! mind you my other bass at the time was my jv squire which i still have. Anyway great price and highly recommended- all th best - lee

 16. Dont worry jack i live in bolton, and my wife works in salford, so i will consider your services in the future, bit of hum on both my smith and my jazz, will need sorting out as soon as i can afford it. A machine will never replace a skilled tech all the best - lee Interesting comments chaps - i have thoroughly enjoyed reading them. Bass chat isn't bad is it? Im fairly new to blogs and the crowd seems spot on here! Jack

All the best jon, hope you get a good trade, i really wanted a marcus miller myself - lee Pics here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...tless&st=20 I will consider some trades: a Jaguar, a Marcus Miller or a Geddy Lee bass.
 18. Nice bass josh i,d be tempted if a wasnt skint, just sold my fretless to pay bills spectors are the dogs and josh is a great guy to deal with, im still loving the ken smith!!!! all the best mate - lee ps - love the streamer too!!!! As of late, this bass has been seeing less and less use as it's a back up to my Streamer, nonetheless this is a great bass and as such I think someone else will benefit from owning it. First things first, the only issue with this bass is it's aesthetic condition. I bought this recently from Jon Kemo in the condition it's in, and it was in the same condition when he bought it from it's original owner who has obviously thrown this bass around a fair bit. There are quite a few surface scratches and noticeable dings on both the front and back and the side of the bass, a minor scrape in the neck, but none of them at all affect the playability of this bass, IMO they give the bass character. The electronics and hardware are all still up to scratch and work perfectly. I've tried my best to highlight these dings and scratches, in the flesh they are noticeable but they are not severe enough to draw any attention to them: Despite all of that, I've really enjoyed having this bass around, it is stupidly light for a bass, and has been used on my bands recent recording(The Gutter Never Looked So good) which can be heard here!. Here are the specs directly from the Spector site: • Original Spector NS curved body style • Original Spector deep inset bolt-on neck pocket design • Neck: Bolt-On Graphite Rod Reinforced 3pc Maple • Fingerboard: 24 Fret, Rosewood, mother of pearl Spector inlays • Scale Length: 34" • Body: Alder, with FM top. • Black Hardware: Spector Aluminum Locking Bridge • Pickups: EMG 35HZ passive dual coil pickups • Active Tone Controls: Spector TonePump™ boost only active bass and treble. 19. Hi there I know your sterling very well as it used to be mine (i called it rita after rita heyworth, gorgeous redhead i still greatly miss it) it had d,addarios on when i traded it, but when i first got i used DR sunbeams(45-105) which i use on my jazz and they sounded fantastic, works very well with the maple fingerboard, i also use fatbeams on my ken smith which i think are great too, they have the punch of steels but with a warm tone( suit actives very well) my faves arethe sunbeams though, highly recommended!! cheers and congrats on a great bass, give me a shout if you evermove it on - all the best lee I used to use Ernie Ball Super Slinky on my MM SR5. I was happy with those but have only used DR on the Lakland for the last 6-7 years. I think DR are worth the extra money.
20.
No surprises here with my answer............ iGig The G525 model has a front pocket designed to fit a small head in.
+1 Iove mine. dont carry my head in it though its too big, but i get all my pedals, leads, strings, straps, pencils etc in there and dont take another bag, makes it bloody heavy though, it is expensive but very well padded which i need when carrying a ken smith in it. I did look at the gig skinz ones which look pretty good, very big pockets and about £80 from bass direct- lee
