1. Hi everyone Having one of those cleary out moments and finding stuff ive bought and never used, i found 2 markbass mark stands that i bought after a wacky idea i had of having my two accugroove cabs either side of me but angled up, unfortunately the theatre pitts just arent that big so ive only ever used one a couple of times, i might s still use one of these so im selling just the 1, its very solid and folds up flat to put in your gigbag, it has velcro on it which attaches to any carpeted cabs ( prob no good for aguilar owners) and it designed to angle up small cabs like 1x10, 1x12 etc, and works great, these cost me £28 + delivery and ive barely used them, the cheapest ive seen is £25 so how does £15 delivered sound, giz a PM if you fancy it - lee
2. Jings that looks like my old case!!!!
3. Do you know, ive never seen one of those before, but i bloody love it, really nice !! a proper musical instrument , i love the wooden bridge and hollow construction will keep these in mind for the future!!! - cheers - lee
4. One of the nicest things about basschat, great community spirit, my hat off to you sir for such a generous offer!!!
5.
My quickest sale ever I believe
no wonder its a beauty!!! bit sick as im currently gassing for a 70,s RI or a marcus miller, but ive never seen a fiesta red one, i wouldve been naughty and modded it, i will keep an eye out for this in the future, congrats to the buyer - lee
6. Is this still for sale!!! Crazy id have thought this wouldve gone in minutes, and from doing business with kev in the past i can pretty much say this will be practically new ( oh bt the way kev i could do with some more leads ) big bump for a great bag, id have this but im buying another octaver soon - lee
7. Thats bloody gorgeous!!!! But ive nowt left to sell, im tempted to move my fretless on now
8. I bet that sounds absolutely amazing mate, i do believe you have my old TD650, which i loved and regret getting rid off, it was my favourite amp, ive now got an HD350 but for some reason its not the same, but 2 x 4x10,s i do believe youve got my ideal setup right there, congratulations on a great setup - lee
9.
Much as it hates to even memtion them *shudders*, it really, really irks me that in the latest round of promo shots for album/single/tour, they don't feature the bass player. I'm assuming it's still Hughie(?) who's been with them for the best part of twenty years.
Aye Hugh Macdonald was actually on bon jovis first album in the late 70,s and some say he was on ALL the records, but he,s never been in any band promo, he must just be an employee, a bit like darryl jones with the stones. Hugh was a session player (his stuff on Alice coopers trash was great) but yeah your right - lee
10. Hi Kev two weeks ago i might have had this from you, however ive just bought an IGIG G15 in tweed and it is abslutely fantastic, probably as tough as the mono but has lots of storage ( i can now sack off the holdall for leads, strings, pedals etc) and is just all round a very classy looking bag, ill try to get some pics up later, on my gig bag thread
11. HHHHHMMM having a tiny little bit of intrest as to how a whammy bar would work on bass, ( dont think id butcher my basses to find out though,) cool looking peice of kit
12. Hi Everyone Took delivery of my IGIG G15 in tweed yesterday, and i have to say my initial misgivings at the price proved to be unfounded, its a really attractive and well proportioned bag, and although its semi solid (very tough actually, with Plastic panelling inside) its really light and comfortable to wear, the gig pillow and saddle features offer extra protection inside the bag (and it fits my Ken smith perfectly).one of the best features is the amount of storage it has two very large pockets on the front and a large on on the top, the pockets are actually designed to fit a small amp ( like the markbass, EA etc) and has a cushioned seperator inside,(like the gigskinz mixer bags) it also features lots of diffrent storage solutions from pens and pencils to effects pedals, it also has a clip for cables. Tha actual bag itself is a very good looking bag, with its goldy tweed finish and brown suede trim( looks nicer than the MONO M80 IMO), i can honestly say it ticks all the boxes and i wouldnt mind a second one, will put some pics up ASAP so you can see for yourself as the pics online are limited, needless to say money well spent and im dead chuffed, anyone thinking on one of these wont be dissapointed. By the way im not Endorsed by IGIG in any way, (wish i was ) just thought id add my 2p to anyone thinking of getting one- cheers - lee
13. Wow thats gorgeous, ive always wanted a 74 jazz (same age as me) especially with a maple neck, im a very skint man so its out of the question, big bump for a stunning bass - lee
14. Loving the new frock (hmmm pearly) whack a set of nordstrand nj,4s (they do them with a 70,s wind) ive got some in my jv squire, very articulate and clear, with a nice bottom end (not massive though vintage fans) they dont have a huge output so i think they would benefit from a preamp (i have an EMG one) to bring a bit more low end thump, they do sound fantastic and have a great slap tone, all you,d need then is a High mass bridge and a sadowsky circuit and your laughing- gorgeous bass mate im jealous- all the best - lee
am interested in buying your ken smith.
Check out the reply just above yours sorry im afraid i got this a few weeks ago, ill keep you in mind if i need to move it on though - cheers - lee ps -To quote yoda "there is another" check out Gwlyms thread for a Smith BSR5J very nice!!!!!
21. I got very good results, from using two accugroove tri110,s( 1x10. 1x6 and 2 tweeters) with the TD650 i now use those two cabs with an HD350 and still sounds great, id imagine the EBS neo 112,s would be a great match too - all the best - lee
22. For me the "bass of the moment" has to be the retro musicman stingray in sea foam green, im quite taken with it, justlovely i will have one one day!!! im also very interested in the dingwalls featured in Bass guitar magazine with the fanned frets (the cocobolo one in bass direct is especially nice) and my current GAS list includes a Marcus Miller jazz and a fretless NT warwick thumb 5- never bloody happy PS im still loving my new Ken smith too!!!
23. Hi there I used to have a TD650 (downgraded now to the 350) and i used to use it with one 8ohm accugroove cab for smaller gigs and 2 of them for larger, with no issues!, im sure i read that at 8 ohms the 650 puts out about 260 watts (im sure someone will correct me if im wrong) so make sure the 8 ohm cab can handle that, i wouldnt mix 1 x8 and 1x4ohms though, but you could run 2x8ohms and 1x4 ohms or 4x 8ohms speakers as the 650 goes down to 2 ohms, 2x 8ohms would give you 450 watts of power hope this helps mate
24.
Sorry Lee, but I've got it now and amber burst is definitely to best colour.
HA HA and it couldnt have gone to a nicer fella (the fretless jazz is making its debut in a couple of weeks BTW) i did originally want the red one, but the amber is gorgeous, come on everybody buy this mans bass its a bargain - lee
25. I used to have one of these, tremendous instrument, and the amber burst really does look classy, (much better than the pics online) great sound and very easy to play, wish i hadnt sold mine, too skint to buy this though - bump - lee
