1. My fave is tort!! so if your selling it on send me some pics, got a tort on my 62 cij reissue but i dont like it, its that modern rubbishy looking tort, and i want somthing more red, anyway i did get a vintage off white pearl scrachplate for my musicman which looks really smart and the same might look great on a white P, otherwise i,d agree with the gold adonised as i think they look great and im sure i saw one on here recently from "niceguyhomer"-good luck with the search - all the best - lee
 2.
I've got a bit of a thing for the "natural" look Left to right: 1989 Status Series II; 1992 EBMM Stingray; Fender Jazz CIJ '75RI with Marcus Retro and Gotoh bridge; 1977 Fender USA Precision.
Hi Derrick Lovely collection, just like myself youve got all the sounds covered, a jazz, a precision, a stingray, and a nice modern sounding status, nothing you cant do with those. Like the look of the gotoh, will definately get one for my precision, BTW i have nordstrand nj,4s in my jazz well worth the money i love em, my sterling has one in too, as soon as ive the cash my precision will get an np 4, good luck on the rig search sounds great what your after-all the best - lee ps - hope you like the octabass!!!
 3.
I remember years ago when I knew Kenny as a player. Bumped into one time and he told me he had started doing bass lessons - I said that I looked forward to hearing the improvement in his playing in the future - HE didn't laugh either.
BRILLIANT!!!!!
 4.
+1 I had one of these basses many moons ago (single p bass pickup)...... it was a stonkin' bass! Mart
+2 I had one too, the second bass i ever owned, it was al maple with a couple of rosewood stringers, with a single dimarzio p bass pickup, it had a really thin comfortable neck and sounded fantastic, and my dad bought it for me for £20 what a bargain!! i very foolishly traded it in for a sh*t hohner fretless, id have this off you but i like being married!!- bump - lee
 5.
Thanks Lee !. Have you got your HD350 yet ?.
Hi Kev Yeah ive got it now, its been well used but sounds fantastic, i love it , it will stay with me till ive the cash for an epifani ul502 (which will prob be about 20 years ) not used it in anger yet, but its going to be very busy over the next three months, a bit strange not having a valve in the preamp!, but the sound isnt that far off the td650 i used to have
 6.
Agreed, congrats to you Kev. But Lee I'm very grateful that you sold it to me!!
And a more deserving chap, i couldnt have gone too really glad your giving it the use i didnt - cheers - lee
 7. May still consider trades for a decent 5 string fender marcus miller 5/Fender Jazz(US) /lakland skyline 5 /musicman stingray HH - WHY
 8.
Hey, remember we're all only a stone's throw from Electro Music in Doncaster, one of the best in the country. Go there and ask for Dave Ryan. He'll sort you out
+1 got my first ever warwick (streamer lx4) back in 98 and my first SWR rig from dave many moons ago, an absolute gent!! and a great shop - lee
 9.
Cheers Lee. ... now if you'll just sell me that JV!
Ill leave it to you in my will
 10.
It's certainly a very appealing preamp! Unfortunately adding all that EQ whilst maintaining signal integrity is very expensive, hence the vast price difference between it and the U5 (and similarly between the U5 and Avalon's other preamps). I'm unfamiliar with the effects of output transformers on tone - I'm just aware that if they're not large enough they can form a bottleneck due to the magnetic fields from the two coils failing to couple fully at high power - and that with the high output impedance of a valve amp you have to have an output transformer to shift over to the low voltage high current drive that a speaker needs. But when you have a solidstate power stage you already have the right output impedance so Jonas must prefer what an output transformer does to the tone. I notice the amps are relatively low power (compared to other standalone power amps, they're not much different to typical bass heads) and thus wonder if he likes the sound of a transformer coupled solidstate power amp running beyond its linear zone? Alex
Bloody hell!!! your a clever bugger - lee
 11.
Hi guys A new streamer has a list price of over 3 grand. My blue one 1991 one was listed at £600 as that is what I paid for it, off of warwickhunt, six months ago. For the life of me I do not feel my one, or this one are worth as little as 600; I did feel it wrong however, to make a profit at the expense of someone else on this board and that is why my blue one was/is as cheap as it is. Thats my ethics or my stupidity and not what a early warwick stage one is worth! Warwickhunt is an honest, helpful and great guy to deal with. And he has some great basses for sale at good prices. Get your PM's to him now!
+1 on everything you just said, your a gent!!!!
 12. I spent years using diffrent kinds of FX, a couple of incarnations of boss multifex to a big pedalboard stuffed with EBS effects, had a big phase(no pun intended) of putting together a dream pedalboard, cost me a fortune and i didnt use them an awful lot because my gigs didnt require them, so ive sold them all off, my last one (EBS MULTICOMP) is about to go making me completely effect less, im sur ill get more in the future coz i love em and if im really desperate my tascam bass trainer has them in if i fancy a mess about, im also for the first time in 14 years using an amp without a valve in it, amazing how this tone journey never ends, this site doesnt help either, always something better around the corner, enjoy your toys everyone - lee
 13. Thats really gorgeous Kev!! Starting to regret selling my WAV now i miss it, oh well ill have to get a CRM5 in the future - enjoy
 14. Just bought Lawries EBS HD350, dead cool guy, who has no luck with his vehicles flawless transaction, arrived when he said and fantastically packed, will deal with again. Thanks lawrie your a good un - lee
 15.
Just bought my self another bass and have decided to move this one on. It's a parts bass consisting of the following: Fender American deluxe jazz body in Oly White with an Allparts block and bound maple neck, fitted with Hipshot tuners and a Hipshot D-tuner, Schaller strap locks also fitted. Pups are Seymour Duncans, bridge is Bad AssII with precut saddles. Also fitted with a Varitone control plate and side mounted jack...plate has switch to bypass varitone plate. Body itself was originally thru body stringing but i had to move the bridge back on the body to achieve intonation as the AmDlx jazz bass is fitted with a 22 fret neck and the Allparts neck is only 20 frets, this means that although the thru body holes can be seen on the back of the bass, they cant be used...ferrules are still in place so it all looks pretty tidy. Body itself is unmarked but neck has some marks on binding where it looks like someone has dressed the frets...the frets themselves have plenty of life left in them Asking £350 posted...payment by Bank Transfer only. Will post more detailed pics tomorrow.
My that precision is gorgeous!!!! hold on a minute bump for a great looking jazz!!! - lee
 16. Hi pete Off on hols on that date!!, spent years doing the holiday parks and pop bands and stuff, so will know most of your set, give me a shout if your stuck in the future- lee
 17.
OK this is me at age 60 (two years ago). The bass is my main gigger a 63 Precision (with added Di Marzio Jazz - sorry!) The bass has been playing the same length of time as me but as you will see is in slightly better condition than I am. The relicing is entirely natural in the case of the bass but in my case there was some deliberate damage caused by tabs & beer.
Hey Howard That "relicing" must have cost you a fortune!!! (on you i mean not the bass ha ha!!) loving the bassface we all pull em!!!! great to see ya in action - lee
 18. While this is up, Rich is due some very overdue feedback from me, i bought his accugrooce tri 110 and was and am extremely happy with it, he is a gent and personally delivered the cab to my door, what a star!!!! he likes cold coffee which is a bit strange,(hey iced latte anyone!!!) but a great guy!!!, nice little player too will be one to watch - all the best mate sorry its so late - lee
 19.
Lee, I know what you mean and that's what I'm trying to avoid doing. I notice Mark at Bassdirect sells Radial gear, so I'm hoping to pop over this week sometime. How does the HD350 sound with the Accugrooves ?.
Yeah Mark is doing them for about £75 i think, i was very close close to buying a new one, so got lucky this time!!, im being a bit premature with the signature as i wont get the HD350 Till wednesday, i used to run a td650 through them and they complimented each other very nicely, as the EBS is quite a lively sounding head, and the accugrooves have a very smooth treble response (no sizzle with these babies, but a very musical high end which is actually great for slapping, with the right head!!!) ive tried an hd350 before and found the basic sound to be quite similar although the 650 had a warmer low end due the valve preamp. Im hoping to get a bit nearer to my original sound, really didnt get on with the eden wt550 ive been using, so very excited to get another EBS if all goes well!!. Good luck on the A/B hunt, shame your not local or i,d be more than happy to let you borrow the radial, ill take some pics and post them if you like, the website ones are a bit 1 dimensional - lee
 20.
If you've seen my other threads then you now I'm after an A/B switching device to switch between BG and EUB. I want it to be true bypass, quiet and uncloured. http://www.redonionsolutions.co.uk/Gallery.htm These seem to do everything I want, and the price is great but they look a bit like a school science project. Anyone have any experience of their products ?. Are they good and reliable and everything else that I've stipulated ?.
Know what you mean Kevin- i was going to buy one of these, but was able to get get a second hand radial bigshot i/o and the build quality is fantastic, the old saying applies "you buy cheap, you buy twice" i think the radial is what your looking for, as i said i ran a similar thread about two months ago and the red onion was one of the suggestions -lee
 21. Any idea if an EBS hd 350 will fit in this? ive a feeling it wont!! Just done some research and its too small, shame!!!!
 22.
They look great to me, and the price looks excellent I was prepared to pay a lot more than that. http://www.redonionsolutions.co.uk/AB/Selector.htm
Thats exactly what i thought, i was set to order one (in a nice red colour with two volumes) then the radial came my way at a great price, so had to o for it, the red onion looks like your solution though!!- have a great easter kevin - lee
 23.
Keep them both. As CK suggests, use rounds on the TF to get the best out of the JPUP and keep some flats on the '71. That way you'vetwo completely different sounding basses. Otherwise whatever you sell you'll, wish you hadn't. Chris
Totally +1 CK & Beedster are so right, both beautiful basses (and sound great in your hands) but the extra bite of the ebony board and jazz pickup just beg for some roundwounds(or half's ive used them on fretless they sound great) while the lovely woodyness of the 71's rosewood board gives you that uprighty (is that a proper word) tone, id keep both and have a couple of diffrent flavours, i must thank you WOT as you,ve now put the TF fretless on my GAS radar, iwanted a jazz but i think the PJ setup has a bit more oomph especially with flats. Cheers mate your a lucky man to be in such a dilema all the best - lee
 24.
Thanks Lee, that's now on my short list of possibles, that and the Lehle little. These look rather nice too - http://www.loop-master.com/product_info.ph...ib9uvcesrcg6a74 Kevin
Hi Kevin I was askin about these a few months ago before i sold my NS and a fellow basschetter put me on to a company called "RED ONION" that make A/B pedals at about half the price of the radial, they custom make them too, so you can have tuner outs but two volumes if you want in any type of case, they seem really good, and true bypass too. they were about £40 i think, seemed really good but didnt look as sturdy as the radial ( but with pc pics you cant really tell), google red onion and have a look, try and find my old wanted thread, the guy (really sorry cant remember who it was) was kind enough to leave a link to thier website, good hunting mate - lee
 25. Hi Kev Ive just bought one of those radial bigshots, not tried it yet though as ive no amp at the mo!!! its built really well and has a tuner out and mute facility, and a volume control on one channel ( to bring the louder instrument down) and a three position bright switch, its passive, too and quite small, mind you when i had my NS wav4 i used an EBS microbass2 which worked fantastically, a bit more cash though, and maybe more bells and whistles than you need!!! the radial seems great though ill update you soon, they are about £80 i was lucky and got one off old horse murphy , top fella- all the best mate - lee
