I love a Phaser, and I use it more than my filters π
-
Just sold the the Bass these were on so surplus to requirements. I bought these on here, they had been purchased Brand new and put on a Mustang, but Barely used. I fitted then through the body on a Sire U5, recorded with them once, then put the bass in the rack unplayed. These still sound fairly bright, they've bedded in a little, but will mellow more over time. Tomastics have a lovely mid voice and a smooth low end, with sweet highs, very like a quality orchestral string (it's what they doπ) they are also very low Tension, so very easy to play. As stated these were through body, and not cut much, but these are short scale. SOLD

Bass looks fantastic. Just my kind of colour. Shame with all of those knobs they couldn't put a passive tone in, but I'll bet it sounds great. This is definitely on my radar. I did do a touring show with a Guitarist who had one of these, basically a bright orange superstrat, it sounded great. Really good sales Ad too! Thought and time went into it, which is becoming rarer and rarer π -

This is what I recall, from having the Kramer catalog on my wall at 13 years old π They were made in Japan! (1&2 maybe 3&4 poss Korea) 4 models Forum 1- neck through,Carved body, EMG pickups and pre, Spector Bridge, shark inlays (effectively MIJ pointy Spector) My dream pointy bass Forum 2- same but bolt on and flat body/top Forum 3 - Neck through, Flat body,Spector branded pickups and preamp (As per the Korean Spector NS2a) and spector Bridge, diamond inlays . Available in a few garish 80s colours. Forum 4- same but bolt on Deep cutaways on all 4, and lots of wacky colours, I've never seen one in the flesh, only the guitars when I was a kid. I'd love a Forum 1 in white π

I find a Phaser to work really well as an alternative to an envelope filter in Funk lines. Add it to an octaver and set at a low rate and its like a giant synthy organ sound, it'll sound fantastic in a trio while the guitarist solos! π

I've had one of these, fantastic, versatile filter. It's large and power hungry though, and rewards patience, which is why I didn't reward me π€£

I'm actually a big fan of the EBS Bass IQ. The EBS pedals are generally underrated because they look so utilitarian, but the IQ has a great variety of great sounds available. It's easy to dial in and generally can be found cheaply. I dont however recommend the first series of these, which is a pig to trigger with passive basses and just gives a bassy WHOMP! No matter how you set it, look fit the ones that say "True Bypass" For synth applications I prefer the IQ to my 3 leaf Groove Regulator, rather IT'S downsweep us very tight and laser beam like (and not noisy like a lot of Downsweep filters)

Just seen this thread, I love a Tort guard, so here's mine currently.

I think they look great, nice compact size, graphics are cheesy but not awful. I actually really like the octamiser.

Had a look for mine and didn't find them. Here's my 2, 2007 Euro4 LX in Ultra Amber Gloss with a beautiful Tiger maple. Such a fantastic sound! it's a non trimpot so hotter than the sun π€£ My second is a 2011 Euro5 LX TW in a natural Matt with a lovely subtle Quilted top. Very different sound to the 4, smoother and warmer with a lot more low end. It has the splittable Humbuckers which can be ran as single coil, however splitting creates a volume drop, which still can be used for different Tones. This has the trimpot so it's set a bit lower. Been a Spector fan for as long as ive been playing, and use both these for my rock/Soul band, my Fender and yamaha handle the jazz rock fusion π

Jeff Answered my call for an FEA Optifet. Absolutely great communication, a fair price and superfast delivery. Also some of the best packaging I've seen in a private sale, highly recommended π Many thanks Jeff you're a star.

Spent the afternoon rebuilding the big board it's been in bits for ages. Got some new bits to try now after my fusion bands brief Hiatus π EBS Microbass 2 - A/B box/ Preamp/DI/ Overdrive/ headphone amp and Effects loop. Very very useful bit of kit and great quality sound. In the loop I have all of the effects, so I can use them through the Headphones. Donner Deluxe Mini tuner- in the Link jack, it acts as a tuner out, as this thing was awful in line with other pedals. FEA Optifet - I had one of these wonderful compressors before and I knew it was a stupid idea when I sold it. Lovely warm fat, with a nice sheen. Tons of control, but most importantly it adds to your tone, this thing can sound like a Diamond Bcp1 or a Cali76CB which the switches (and I've owned both) very pleased to get another. BOSS LS2 - splits the signal after the comp, so all effects have compression beforehand. Has two seperate lines of FX that I can switch between or run in parallel Loop A - general effects. MXR Bass Octave Deluxe- I had one of these before and while I loved the tone and tracking, it had a noise issue. I really needed an Octave thst tracks well with active basses, and this was the best I'd tried in that application. Two different voices to mimic the EBS and OC2 Sounds. EBS Bass IQ - this is a great sounding filter!! Lots of variation with the modes and simple to use. Not as fat or resonant as some, but has a great tight/clear filter tone that cuts through really well. EBS Dphaser - As above but a funky, swirly, fat and very cool Digital Phaser. I love this thing Loop B - Synth Channel Emma - Okto Nojs - Octaver and synthy Dynamic Fuzz in one pedal, can be used individualy or combined for Dirty synth tones. The Fuzz on this is worth the price alone, it's in two parts first is a dynamic Fuzz with a subtle octave up past the 12th fret (very like the 3 leaf Doom) and has a square wave synth Fuzz which is voiced an octave down, I love this with a Phaser. Source Audio C4 synth- had one of these before, with a posh midi thing, only used 6 sounds in it π€£ Synths/octavers/filters/phasers allsorts in here, but just sticking to the six sounds this time. Got a few nice synth sounds in there incl an OC2 with Bitcrusher and an MXR filter model. 3 leaf Groove Regulator- I've owned the other versions of this filter, so gone back to the original. It is fat and organic sounding, fairly polite as filters go, but sounds really good with the Octave/Fuzz combos. Easier to dial in than its successors, and has a handy loop, unfortunately any pedals in its loop can only be used with the filter. Source Audio Gemini Chorus- another Gem that I've had before, I'd forgotten how good this pedal is. Six presets for all my Modulation needs it's got various Chorus/Flanger/Phasers currently programmed as well as a very synthy resonator sound.
