  1. Due to downsizing and more gas I'm moving on this amazing little Envelope filter. As with all EBS pedals, it's fully analog with three modes. High Q- is a very funky bootsy esq wah type filter, with plenty of highs. My favourite sound on this pedal. Up - is your classic filter sound, which while similar to the high Q works on a much lower set of frequencies, so much fatter. Down- That Ray gun sounding Byoww sound! 🤣 my favourite on any filter for synth sounds. Put an octaver in parallel with this and its very greasy and funky. This pedal was a very pleasent surprise for me, as I'd tried most of the high end filters, and I loved this one from the get go. It is very easy to trigger and has a good sensitivity. Note- this is a later "true Bypass" version. The earlier versions, did not trigger very well IMHO (I've had two non True bypass) especially with low output basses, and the down was unusable. This later version corrected those foibles, and it triggers perfectly. If what I want goes,I may withdraw this, however my C4 covers a lot of filters 😁 It's in immaculate condition with high quality Velcro on the back.
  2. Having a small downsize,so moving on this cracking pedal. It is fully Analog and has three modes chorus/Flanger/pitch modulation. The Chorus is very sweet, and has a lovely thick tone. Flange mode is very subtle, and gives a pleasant whoosh, this pedal gascthe nearest I've heard, to the classic "Anthony Jackson" Flanger. The pitch modulation, is more of a detuned effect, and works very well for aping Synth sounds. It also has a little trimpot inside, which adds in your clean bass, making it nice and full sounding. This is the "True Bypass" version so it doesn't suffer from the volume boost, that the earlier units have. This is in good condition, with high quality velcro on the back. -SOLD
  3. Wow! Is this still available then? I'd have thought it sold.
  4. Ahh, I love this.My second ever bass was a Vantage, I loved it.
  5. I still Dream of owning an 80s Kramer Forum 1 😍
  6. Is it an older Multicomp? The original non true bypass one? after a while EBS pedals can develop footswitch issues. I had a Bass IQ with the same issue many moons ago, it coyld be dirt maybe a bit of contact cleaner on the footswitch! I've had about 6 multicomps since 2002 and I've never switched them off 😁
  7. Oh I like that very much! Judging by the colour under the pickguard, I'd say it was Lake Placid Blue that's faded to green over time. I had a MIJ Tokai jazz that was a similar colour, I wish I hadn't sold it.
  8. Thanks Jonathan Sorry for the late response! It's my spector it's hotter than the sun and completely overloads the Okto Njos but the MXR handles it fine, but would like to replace it with an OC5. I've actually just spent my spare cash on a deposit for a present for my wife, so all moot! I'd have to sell the MXR first and I doubt theres time. Hope you're well bud? 😁
  9. I too have one, exactly the same as this! It's an 82 and I've owned it 29 years, it's been around the world with me. Fantastic basses and very collectable now.
  10. I love this thread,But only 5!!!! So difficult. Pretty much all my favourite players are the session guys, so here's my top 5 Abraham Laboriel Will Lee Marcus Miller Anthony Jackson Louis Johnson Tip of the iceberg though, so many beautiful players.
  11. Tempted!! How does the oc5 track with high output active basses, Jonathan? 😁
  12. Got rid of a few posh pedals, as I'm not using so many effects in my bands at the moment. Used the money to buy more basses 😁 EBS Microbass 2 - A/B box/ Preamp/DI/ Overdrive/ headphone amp and Effects loop. Very very useful bit of kit and great quality sound. In the loop I have all of the effects, so I can use them through the Headphones. Darkglass Hyper Luminal- new arrival and jury's still out. Analog pedal with a digital sidechain, with models of three popular compressors. All sound great and very different, so lots of variety, and fairly easy to set up, with lots of pretty Blue lights. Need to use this with the band, to get a feel for it. BOSS LS2 - splits the signal after the comp, so all effects have compression beforehand. Has two seperate lines of FX that I can switch between or run in parallel Loop A - general effects. MXR Bass Octave Deluxe- I had one of these before and while I loved the tone and tracking, it had a noise issue. I really needed an Octave thst tracks well with active basses, and this was the best I'd tried in that application. To different voices to mimic the EBS and OC2 Sounds. EBS Bass IQ - this is a great sounding filter!! Lots of variation with the modes and simple to use. Not as fat or resonant as some, but has a great tight/clear filter tone that cuts through really well. EBS Unichorus - Chorus/Flanger and pitch mod. Gorgeous Analog tones in a bombproof box EBS Dphaser - As above but a funky, swirly, fat and very cool Digital Phaser. I love this thing Donner Deluxe Mini tuner- kept losing the Headstock thing and got fed up of asking the the Keyboard player to give me an E 😂 Loop B - Synth Channel Emma - Okto Nojs - Octaver and synthy Dynamic Fuzz in one pedal, can be used individualy or combined for Dirty synth tones. Source Audio C4 synth- had one of these before, with a posh midi thing, only used 6 sounds in it 🤣 Synths/octavers/filters/phasers allsorts in here, but just sticking to thd six sounds this time. Nice "just a bit more than I need" board, and everything's nicely spaced. Just need yo sort the cables out 😁
  13. Ooh yes you do!!!😘🤣
  14. Yes, I had a Spector CR5FM years ago which had EMG DC and the East U retro deluxe, but the passive tone didn't work.
  15. Ahh no! I've just bought a new set of Dunlop superbrights 🤦‍♂️
  16. Gator molded bass case. I Don't use hardcases, so should protect someone else's investment, instead of sitting in my loft. It's been well used, the locks and handle are fine, the inside is unblemished. Sold
  17. For sale a well broken in 4 string set of TI's with a brand new and barely used TI B string. I've had the 4 string on a couple of basses ( two BB,so and a precision) and they are very broken in and mellow and deep. Silks are fraying as they would but still OK to fit. I wanted flats on my old BB425 so fitted these and bought a brand new B string, but didn't keep them on the bass long. Obviously the B is a little brighter, but B strings tend to sound deeper and they match very well. Has been strung through the body on yamaha 4 strings BB,s but will need to be strung through the bridge on a 5 to fit, so will suit a jazz or p 5. Note - they will fit a yamaha BB5 if strung through the bridge, the E fits with one wrap round the post,it works fine. SOLD
  18. My first ever bass was a short scale Arbiter SG type, I didn't keep it long 🤣 recent problems with Carpal Tunnel, has forced me to look into one, to continue playing. I tried a couple in my local music shop (Fender Player Mustang and Sterling stingray) and was very impressed by the sound quality (although I had issues with the Sterlings build quality for a bass costing in the region of £800) After lots of research online,I decided to take a gamble on the sire U5! What a great sounding and well built little bass! I restrung it through the body with normal scale Dunlop superbrights and it sounds huge. It has the deep bass that shortscales are known for, but the maple board and 70s position back pickup give it a lot of bite. Its definitely redefined my thoughts in short scales, however I personally struggle playing past the 12th fret with an octave pedal, the frets are so dinky🤣 so long term, when I eventually get my operation and hopefully recover, I'm not sure I'll continue using it. Mind you both my daughters have fallen in love with it and now want to play, so they'll have a much better first bass, then I did 😁
  19. Thanks Paul I may consider replacing them,I've been tempted to do the same with my 4lx as well.
  20. New Bass day! Always been a fan of spector, ever since I started playing. According to Facebook I got my first 9 years ago, a CR5FM it sounded fantastic, buy eventually moved it on as I found the weight and scale a bit much at the time. I regretted it ever since! After a bit of recent searching I have today received a Twin of my old Euro, a Euro 5LX-TW in natural. Much lighter than my old one and a shallower neck too. It has the Alder/walnut sandwich with a slightly quilted maple top, with the Tonepump circuit. It has these lovely EMG CS TW pickups, which means that are ceramic and Steel magnets, giving a warmer sound. They can be coil tapped to single coil with pull switches, although I've found they have a large drop in volume in single coil mode. Using these is cool in that with both pickups on, you can coil tap either pickup and it emphasises the other but sounds tighter than the pickups alone (for example the front pickup is boomy on its own, coil tapping the bridge sounds more like the front pickup, but tighter. The two split coils can be used for quieter mellower tones). Really pleased to have a new Euro and its a great counterpart to my Euro4 which is more aggressive. A picture came on Facebook today, posing with my CR5FM and my baby daughter Cora, so we decided to recreate it 🤣 my thanks to Mr Travis for putting the two together.
  21. There were crossover CRFM with full maple bodies and the crown inlays Beautiful bass! It's a CR4FM 😍
