USA Musicman Stingray 5HH, in the long discontinued Honeyburst. This has the usual Ash body,Very slim/shallow maple neck and is an Early 2006 model HH The pickups are both series, so sounds exactly like a Stingray, but with more Midrange and less scoop (dialling down the mids and boosting the bass and treble gives that classic scooped tone) The single coil and other pickup modes sound cool too, the two single outercoil setting is almost like a Rickenbacker, while the inner coils have a tight smooth sound (Jazz ish but more it's own sound). Both pickups on is like a huge modern sounding Ken Smith/G&L esq tone, while the front pickup is like a cleaner Gibson Neck pickup vibe, very deep and great for 60's and 70s rock tones. The pickup wiring is the same as the USA Sterling 5HH as demo'd by Ed freidland It weighs 4.9kg / 10.8lbs. There is a small chip in the rear by the strap pin, one on the bottom horn,and one on the bottom edge of the bass, other than that it's in really really good condition. It was originally shipped to Guitar Center,I believe a previous owner bought it in the states during a trip there. I've Recently had a new Dark Red Tortoise Guard fitted, although I still have the darker original Tort, which will be included. It will ship with the OHSC and has a brand new set strings fitted. Sold

I'm wondering if the Sterling Stingray has the pick up wired in series ( I vaguely recall it does,I may be wrong, but would explain OP's mid heavy tone) my USA Ray 5HH has the back pickup in series and it has a darker more vintage tone with a lot of boosted mids. The paralell setting usually has a lot of boosted Highs and lows, thus scooping the mids. I pull the mids right back and boost the bass and treble, it gets me close to the parallel tone. When I use both pickups on though, it has a modern slightly Ken Smith esq tone and I have to push those mids back up.

Don't think I've put mine on here yet. Here's my 2006 Stingray 5HHin Honeyburst. This is an early run,so the back pickup is wired in series nor parallel. It still got that unmistakable ray bounce and growl but its a smoother/darker sound nd with the other pickup ive found it a really useful tone. They changed it to parallel wiring in 2008 I think when they released the Sterling 5HH which see the series settings. It had a Dark Tortoise Guard on it,but I've recently has a Dark red one made as I feel it complements the finish bètter.

Used a GK MB210II combo for a while. 350watts in 2x10 speakers and 500 with extension. Sounds great, very clear tone,but using the boost volume adds a nice bit of grit. It has a really nice look too,not too modern. I recently joined a rock covers band with 2 guitars, so bought a matching CX115 cab, to get the full 500 watts. My one gripe is it's so damn heavy, so not sure how long I'll continue with this setup, but it really does sound great.

Hi Chris The T70 (like it's little brother the T65) has a dirty Octave up feature,to add presence and bite to a band mix (like an Octavia fuzz). It's also well documented that this octave up doesn't really dial out of the tone, when when set to 0. Tom's always marketed this as a synth engine rather than a standard octave pedal,and his speciality is dirt even in his octaves. For clean standard octave the Cog T16/T47 is the one to get. Trust me, put a filter in its loop and you'll get a great dynamic synth tone. If you want it looked at to be sure, I've used Owen electronics based In Manchester. Hes very good with Analog pedals (he doesn't do digital) and charges a standard fee (about £11 as I recall) to look at it and correct minor issues, but more if needed. So it'll at least cost that, plus your postage to and back.

The printed ones look Awful IMO! Certainly up close, it's what they put on all the cheap Fenders. So theyve offered you another not as good guard for free,but you've still spent £40 more, than if you'd bought two guards from Earlpilanz. That's rubbish,if you hadn't removed the plastic covering, you should still be able to return for a refund. If you bought on online does DSR not apply in this situation?
