Just bought a Yamaha BB1024 from Greg. Great friendly communication and fast postage! Kept my regularly updated during the process, which I like. Many thanks Greg

Does anyone know if those new Fender Boxer series have jazz necks? I think they're based on the the old Jazz Special that Duff Mckagan used, they had jazz necks.
-
The Nate Mendel has a slightly wider nut than most Jazz basses, but still thinner than most P's. It also is a much chunkier B profile, it's a great sounding and well made bass. I was expecting a "Jazz" neck from other people's descriptions, but it's very much it's own thing. Funny I've just bought a Yamaha BB 1024 which has a great P tone and It has a similar neck to the Nate.

Just been checking that out, as ive never heard of it. Really interesting filter. No control over the overdrive and its always on, so not sure, how that would behave when adding other fuzz or octave. Maybe ran in parallel it would be cool.

I recently had an iron Ether pedal fixed by Owen electronics in Manchester. Great service and a top job,not mega money either. Probably worth repairing, especially as they a currently sought after pedals.

A couple of BC brothers tried it and wernt keen, but it's all subjective. I have an Emma Okto Nojs (the fuzz on this, is the nearest to a 3 leaf Doom ive heard)which I love, buy I know others who wernt keen.

It makes a massive difference. Another little trick is to put a compressor in the chromatron loop, so you still get the benefit of a comp, but it doesn't interfere with the dynamics of the filter (which can happen if placed before or after)
-
My GR2 has no issues whatsoever! The older 3 leaf units seem to have a standard footswitch and not the silent relay switching he employed later. As you say it may just be dirt or a loose connection, especially if they are used a lot.

Shame its not a feature on most filters! It works beautifully.

Gibson Gene Simmons G2 Thunderbird Ebony Mirror

Not keen on that at all! He was never associated with a Thunderbird. As stated earlier, they should release a Ripper/Grabber in that paint job, with his logo, and watch them fly off the shelves. Are his Cort punisher basses still being made? -
I wish! Just Ginsters pasties and guiness

Lol I know! I should have put #EBSpleasegivemeanartistdeal At the end π

So as I've recently bought back an old bass, a few of my posh pedals had to go. As I haven't gigged for nearly 3 years seemed daft. I've still got a few decent noisemakers on the board though. The usual signal chain setup EBS Microbass 2 - A/B box/ Preamp/DI/ Overdrive/ headphone amp and Effects loop. Very very useful bit of kit and great quality sound. In the loop I have all of the effects, so I can use them through the Headphones. EBS Multi Comp- I've owned nearly every high end pedal comp there is and loved a few of them. I've used an EBS comp in some way ever since my first in 2002 (I've had 6 π) I always go back to this, easy to use and it sounds great, versatile with the modes and adds to the tone which i love BOSS LS2 - splits the signal after the comp, so all effects have compression beforehand. Has two seperate lines of FX that I can switch between or run in parallel Loop A - general effects. MXR Bass Octave Deluxe- I had one of these before and while I loved the tone and tracking, it had a noise issue. I really needed an Octave thst tracks well with active basses, and this was the best I'd tried in that application. To different voices to mimic the EBS and OC2 Sounds and this one isn't noisy. EBS Bass IQ - this is a great sounding filter!! Lots of variation with the modes and simple to use. Not as fat or resonant as my 3 leaf, but has a great tight/clear filter tone that cuts through really well. EBS Unichorus - Chorus/Flanger and pitch mod. Gorgeous Analog tones in a bombproof box EBS Dphaser - As above but a funky, swirly, fat and very cool Digital Phaser. I love this thing Donner Deluxe Mini tuner- kept losing the Headstock thing and got fed up of asking the the Keyboard player to give me an E π Loop B - Synth Channel 3 Leaf Audio GR2 Envelope filter- very fat and resonant filter with a handy Effects loop, so anything in it, doesn't hit the input Detection stage, making for very dynamic synth sounds. This is set for a funky Downsweep, in the loop we have the following Iron Ether Subterranea - Octave/Synth- is a fantastic lofi sounding octaver, with two synth voices and 3 waveforms for each. Very dirty and Analog Synth sounding! I love it Iron Ether Frantabit - Bit Crush and Sample rate reducer- very funky/noisy/mental pedal that's actually really really musical and sounds fantastic. One of my favourite pedals π Emma - Okto Nojs - Octaver and synthy Dynamic Fuzz in one pedal, can be used individualy or combined for Dirty. Funny how I've gone back to EBS pedals, I've always used them, and while maybe not the mist exciting or flashy, they do what they do very well. Fantastic build and great sound, they can also be picked up very reasonably.

I've been a very long time fan of George Benson. I've all his albums, but 'Give me the Night" is one of my favourite albums of all time. I came for George's singing and Guitar playing, and stayed for Abe Laboriels bass playing π (Louis Johnson's on it too π)

Gorgeous! Just the Euro 5 I'm after (other than a green one) π
