I love just tried one of these at a local music shop. The blue one is gorgeous to look at,and the jazz neck is really slim and comfy. With the blocked jazz neck, they should have released this as candy Apple Red, very Duck Dunn.

I love those 50s style p basses, and will probably be the next one I get. These are fantastic quality, not sure how they compare to the newer Vintera versions (seafoam green though π)

I've used an MB500 210ii combo for a while now. Previously used very expensive amps (Bergantino/Glockenklang/Epifani/ EBS etc) happy enough with the sound and no fan noise issues (I don't think there is one π). As many of the posts above allude too, all the components for most amps cabs etc will be manufactured in Asia. I've just bought a CX115 as I'm now in a band with a couple of guitar "Heroes" π so yet to try this at full 500 watts although it managed at 350.

I bought this recently! And I hadn't played one of these in years and forgot how good it is (fantastic in High Q mode) It has been knocked and one off the knobs is slightly bent, it works perfectly and might even be an easy fix. Other than that it's in good condition. I'm going to buy a later version which hasn't a wonky knob. To be very clear, this is purely cosmetic and the filter works as it should. This has the first black label version with a high quality buffered bypass. Three modes on this include a Down sweep (great for synth, harder to dial in on certain basses) an up sweep (fat quack tone) high Q another up sweep but in a higher range, very funky indeed) Looking at moving this on for Β£40 including UK only post age which is less than I paid and frankly daft money for a filter of this calibre. If only the knob didn't make my teeth itch π

There's a guy on here selling a Tonepump! It's not a trimpot version though. That pre really needs a trim, my Euro4 LX gas the old non trim! WAY HOT!! Still sounds lush though π

The Cog is a custom Grand Tarkin "Trooper fuzz" - based on the the old EHX Green Russian but with a Filtered clean blend (only clean lows, mids and highs are fuzzed, it's much more of a coherent sound, than the Bass Big muff on blend) and a handy mids control,as muff fuzzes can be scooped, not an issue with this baby. It's also got the really cool purple LED. It was built for the 2015 Circuits to cure Cancer and I think one of final Star Wars etches he did, before he stopped doing them. Cog effects regrettably seem to have stopped building, making this a true one off (this is featured on the Cog website, with the custom models) It's a fantastic fuzz, very smooth and really well made, bought it as I love Star Wars, however I already have two other fuzzes, more suited to my needs, and it's not a sound I use often. I'm wanting a firm Β£130 incuding UK only delivery. I am on the lookout for a Gallien Kruger CX210 or 115 cab, so will part trade for one of those.

So as it was my birthday last week, I'd decided to act upon my latest Gas attack, which was a 5 string Stingray (Thanks @AndyTravis π) I'd been offered back my old Stingray 5HH in Honeyburst, which I sold on about 5 years ago, when I hit hard times. The seller very kindly offered it back to me, and with the sale of a few pedals and part trading a lovely P bass, the deal was done. This is a 2006 Ray HH, which were at the time wired series (same as position 3 near the neck on a single pickup), but only for a couple of years. They changed the bridge and neck pickups to parallel in 2008, they also introduced the Sterling 5HH at the same time, which was wired in series. Its a different sound, a bit less in your face than a paralell wired ray, with a less extreme scoop and less highs. It Sounds great, the series wired back pickup has a smoother sound and not as aggressive and clicky, but still very much a stingray sound. The front is like a Gibson mudbucker, only with clarity and the two together have a very modern punchy scooped tone. I'm not as keen on the single coil options but on the two outer coils, it's almost like a Rickenbacker, they do work great with fuzz though π The colour is Honey Burst which was discontinued, and a rosewood board,I think the Tort guard was an optional extra too. It's a lovely colour! Darker than the photo suggests, Like light caramel going into reddish brown. This is the second musicman I'd sold and was lucky enough to get back! I owned a maple boarded/parallel wired USA Sterling 4, however I'd decided that kind of sound isn't what I'm after these days. I remembered this HH had a smoother/ more versatile sound, so decided to get it back. Stingray 5s have such lovely neck profiles too.

I had a Doom for a while and I did enjoy it, however it's only useful in a octave/fuzz/filter combo (as it was designed to do) not a great sound on its own. The Doom 2 adds a muff style fuzz with a Filtered clean blend (which is similar the cog Grand Tarkin) for a cheaper and more Available effect try the Emma Okto Nojs! The fuzz section is very similar to the Doom in that it's Dynamic and has an Octave up with lots of ring mod ish harmonics when played past the 12th fret. It does have an Octave down square wave fuzz which makes it more synthy again. But dialling this out makes it similar to the Doom. It also has a fairly decent octaver with a filter to make it OC2 ish. Im a massive fan of 3 leaf and have a GR2 on my board, however I'm not prepared to pay the daft money as good as they are. If o coukd find a filter with a loop that with a as well as the GR2 is be moving it on (I did pay a lot for it mind).
