What compressor in conjunction with my Wonderlove...?
lee650 replied to bassmayhem's topic in Effects
I've been using a compressor in the loop of my Wonderlove for ages and it works great for smoothing the other effects in the loop while not interfering with your envelope signal. Ive used a Diamond in the loop with great results! If the wonderlove is set to buffered bypass internally them the loop pedals will work when the wonderlove is off including the comp,so no real need to buy a second If you still want a second compressor them the EBS is the best value you will get,it sounds amazing and can be picked up fairly cheaply. I'm currently using a Cali76 cb which is fantastic, but if I had to move it on,I'd buy a Multicomp (ive had four over the years). The TC spectra comp gets a lot of love and it's small,so may be a good option. -
Haha - well I could trade your DC 5 (for use on my proposed mini board) for my mint DC 8 plus some cash and then get me a DC 10 (for my main board) at the same time If that doesn't sound daft, PM me before I get a Ciocks DC5 for myself.
HI Al I thought you'd sold that DC8 otherwise I would have contacted you, rather than pay full whack for a brand new cioks DC5 I'll pass on the trade thanks, ive just got it and it'll work fine, even though it would have been nice to be able to power the Wonderlove at 18v too. I do have a diago voltage doubler I could use,but i suspect it may be partially responsible for my noise issue. I have got another niggle (apart from needing more longer pancake patch leads) I really don't want to go down the drilling route (I also don't have a drill) so ive used extra strong velcro to attach the DC5 underneath my Metro 20. As a result the whole thing wobbles as the supply is a tiny bit longer than the feet aarrggh!!! I know the obvious answer is to drill, but has anyone found a work around and if the DC5 is always testing on the floor will it be ok (micro switches etc)?

Thanks for the replies Gents!! Going to wire my board back up today, with the Cioks and the boss Ls2 ive just procured I'm still having to daisy chain a couple of outputs, so in now wondering if I should have paid the extra £40 for the DC 8

I've still to find the filter for me! I'm currently using an early coloured/etched 3 Leaf wonderlove,I love it mixed with fuzz and octave, (especially when they are in its loop) but struggling to find a tone I like on its own, it's just not squelchy enough. My favourite was the original big box Qtron I owned! Buts it's massive a PITA to power and sucks tone bypassed! I've had the EBS IQ, digitech BSW, Tone factor bottom Feeder, Bass balls and various multi fx and haven't found "the one" yet. tones I love are "back to love" Brand new heavies, "fell n love with a boy" Joss Stone ( guy used a Moog Murf I believe) and anything by Bootsy:) got my eye on the Emma Discombobulator at the mo!

I can hear a slight octave up , but in a dirty brass master style. Ive used many different octaves over the years and as I prefer to use an octave as part of a synth engine the T65 is perfect for me. It can even be used on its own to good effect with the octave up for synth duties. I do agree that the T65 doesn't do completely clean in the same way I found the T16 could, that's why I'm considering a custom Cog, which would be switchable between a T65 and T16 (kind of a T47 with a loop and one channel having the octave up). For clean octave tones, my favourite is the EBS Octabass! Clean smooth sound that tracks really well. I'd buy Oldman s but I've no room on the board!

Ahh thanks Dan i was hoping it would be ok! I'm waiting on a few new patch cables to arrive , hopefully tomorrow and I'll rewire my board with the Cioks, I've a Boss Ls2 to integrate as well. My board is well and truly full, but I'm determined not to get another bigger board

Hi everyone ive just recieved a new Cioks DC5 today as I'm still getting noise from my (brand new) 1 spot, I wanted to power my Cali76 CB using the 18 volt outlet, however Ive just read that its 103 ma at 18v and the outlet only has 100ma, does anyone have any idea if this will be ok? I was hoping to power my Wonderlove at 18v from it too, but ill have to leave it at 9v. cheers

One of those foldable Mark Bass amp stands might do! They have velcro on the front so put velcro on the zoom and it may angle it up it may be too big though!
