I went with the Cioks,so it would fit underneath! A cheaper alternative would be the Fame one, which appears to be similar to the Cioks. Its to big to fit under neath a Nano though

better soft case alternative for pedaltrain metro 20
lee650 replied to lee650's topic in Accessories and Misc
I actually have a gear 4 music keyboard bag, that i keep my amp in. Im not at home at the moment, but it's much better quality and well padded,so ill try it when I get home. I think it'll be slightly too big for mine, for a junior it may work. It's on gear 4 music's website for £25 check out the dimensions. I think it's very short sighted of Pedaltrain, not to offer hard/soft cases as an alternate! Otherwise I'd purchase the hardcase. There is a company called castle that do flight cases to fit metros, but i don't want something that heavy duty. -
Hi Everyone I currently have a Pedaltrain Metro 20, now I'm very unimpressed with the quality of the soft case that came with it (kicking myself for not buying the hardcase version). As the number of pedals I have on the board has grown and has a large number of expensive pedals, I'm concerned the soft case won't give enough protection. I much prefer the portability of a soft case, so has anyone used an alternative soft case with a lot more padding/waterproof. Ive been looking at the rockbag pedal bags and they look ideal, has anyone used one? cheers
Thanks man, this is cool. I’m currently leaning towards MXR BEF and octave, will let you know what I think just as soon as I make to the music shop!
The MXR bass octave deluxe is well regarded! I've not tried one myself, but it's on the to do list. Add them to a synthy fuzz and pure Stevie Wonder bass

As my board is getting ridiculusly crowded and im determined not to buy a bigger board, something has to go! up for sale is my fantastic Tech 21 Red Ripper. Its a fantastic Synthy fuzz with a three band EQ. The RIP control brings out a whole plethora of synth as well as fuzz/distortion tones, its really versatile, it is completely touch sensitive and works with the playing dynamics much like an envelope filter. it does sound almost like a cross between a gated fuzz and envelope filter and at higher gain/RIP settings it gets into Brassmaster territory with octave up tones. it even cleans up quite well to use as a dirty 3 band EQ , put the rip control to zero and its a very heavy standard fuzz/distortion. Ive been using this with a Cog T65 and 3 leaf Wonderlove and getting amazing synth/moog tones and id keep it if I could afford to and just use it on another board in the future, I'm selling as I'm getting a 3 leaf Doom which is a bit smaller and does a similar job (without as much functionality). http://www.tech21nyc.../redripper.html some ok demos on youtube, but if you're looking for an inexpensive synth engine, then look no further it isn't boxed ,but will be well packed, id like £95 including delivery - ON HOLD! Diago Micropower 9 As ive just got a great new Cioks DC5, so now this is redundant and I have a one spot as a back up, it is boxed and working perfectly! it also has an upgraded plug as I damaged the old one and Diago very kindly gave me the lead from the ,more expensive Powerstation, ill even throw in the Daisy chain for 6 pedals which normally costs extra. £20 posted £110 if both bought together

yeah I'm being soft!!! ill get holdof a drill and do it properly, took one look at the tape and I'm not convinced

Thanks everyone! It's not about resale value or anything, it's just I don trust myself with a drill and need to borrow one. Daft question I know!! what size drillbit do you use (I really don't do DIY)

What compressor in conjunction with my Wonderlove...?
lee650 replied to bassmayhem's topic in Effects
Also a good choice! -
Well I've just bought some Gorilla double sided tape ! I've looked online and the consensus is to drill holes, but i don't have immediate access to a drill and i need my board tomorrow night. The hard part will be removing the extra strong velcro I put on could do with the Hulk for a hand. my brother in law has a drill so I may end up drilling it next week when I will be rearranging the board again I'll post how the tape works for future reference!
-
Yeah ripping out the feet sounds more hassle than drilling! The supply is on the floor and the front feet are slightly off! I think the double sided tape sounds like a plan! I'm off to homebase
-
Been watching the youtube vid on mounting these and i really don't want to go that route as my Metro 20 doesn't have any room left at all (although I'm moving on my mid sized red ripper fuzz fir a 3 leaf doom which is smaller) and i wouldn't be able to put pedals on top of the screws (if they stick out a bit). The guy on youtube must have been using normal velcro as he states it's exactly level with the feet, while mine is a teeny bit longer (the strong velcro Ive used is thicker). I'm going to look at the double sided tape as that may work! Has anyone replaced the feet on a metro? And if so where do you source deeper ones?
Double sided tape should do the trick. I'd investigate to see if there's any industrial strength stuff out there though rather than the bog standard.
what are you currently doing with yours Dan? Is it drilled?

What compressor in conjunction with my Wonderlove...?
lee650 replied to bassmayhem's topic in Effects
I've been using a compressor in the loop of my Wonderlove for ages and it works great for smoothing the other effects in the loop while not interfering with your envelope signal. Ive used a Diamond in the loop with great results! If the wonderlove is set to buffered bypass internally them the loop pedals will work when the wonderlove is off including the comp,so no real need to buy a second If you still want a second compressor them the EBS is the best value you will get,it sounds amazing and can be picked up fairly cheaply. I'm currently using a Cali76 cb which is fantastic, but if I had to move it on,I'd buy a Multicomp (ive had four over the years). The TC spectra comp gets a lot of love and it's small,so may be a good option. -
Haha - well I could trade your DC 5 (for use on my proposed mini board) for my mint DC 8 plus some cash and then get me a DC 10 (for my main board) at the same time If that doesn't sound daft, PM me before I get a Ciocks DC5 for myself.
HI Al I thought you'd sold that DC8 otherwise I would have contacted you, rather than pay full whack for a brand new cioks DC5 I'll pass on the trade thanks, ive just got it and it'll work fine, even though it would have been nice to be able to power the Wonderlove at 18v too. I do have a diago voltage doubler I could use,but i suspect it may be partially responsible for my noise issue. I have got another niggle (apart from needing more longer pancake patch leads) I really don't want to go down the drilling route (I also don't have a drill) so ive used extra strong velcro to attach the DC5 underneath my Metro 20. As a result the whole thing wobbles as the supply is a tiny bit longer than the feet aarrggh!!! I know the obvious answer is to drill, but has anyone found a work around and if the DC5 is always testing on the floor will it be ok (micro switches etc)?

Thanks for the replies Gents!! Going to wire my board back up today, with the Cioks and the boss Ls2 ive just procured I'm still having to daisy chain a couple of outputs, so in now wondering if I should have paid the extra £40 for the DC 8

I've still to find the filter for me! I'm currently using an early coloured/etched 3 Leaf wonderlove,I love it mixed with fuzz and octave, (especially when they are in its loop) but struggling to find a tone I like on its own, it's just not squelchy enough. My favourite was the original big box Qtron I owned! Buts it's massive a PITA to power and sucks tone bypassed! I've had the EBS IQ, digitech BSW, Tone factor bottom Feeder, Bass balls and various multi fx and haven't found "the one" yet. tones I love are "back to love" Brand new heavies, "fell n love with a boy" Joss Stone ( guy used a Moog Murf I believe) and anything by Bootsy:) got my eye on the Emma Discombobulator at the mo!

I can hear a slight octave up , but in a dirty brass master style. Ive used many different octaves over the years and as I prefer to use an octave as part of a synth engine the T65 is perfect for me. It can even be used on its own to good effect with the octave up for synth duties. I do agree that the T65 doesn't do completely clean in the same way I found the T16 could, that's why I'm considering a custom Cog, which would be switchable between a T65 and T16 (kind of a T47 with a loop and one channel having the octave up). For clean octave tones, my favourite is the EBS Octabass! Clean smooth sound that tracks really well. I'd buy Oldman s but I've no room on the board!
