1. I remember seeing these in the back of music magazines!! With a really cheesey shot of a rock dude I really wanted one (I wanted the guitar as well) but ended up with a Marlin sidewinder guitar and a Vantage bass!! I think I did ok -lol
2.
Still a work in progress but this is me just now... And the mess...
I notice you have a Super Symmetry now! How does it compare to the Cali76?
3. Well I've received the one spot and the problems still there! Really bad earth hum. Strangely through my bass trainer and headphones it's noisy through the pedal board (with a P bass) but quiet plugged direct. when I put the pedal board through my amp it's noisy but not as bad, however when I plug directly into my amp, I get massive earth hum. I tried all of my basses the P bass was worst but the jazz hummed too,but my musicman was quiet. Once again not as bad through the pedal board. I plugged into a different wall socket with same noise. I'm wondering if my power is dodgy. I have the same issue in a dodgy lockup I rehearse in and I know the power is dodgy in there. I still don't think it's my cables as the problem exists using the one spot on single pedals. Any other thoughts gents?
4. That is one hell of a good looking bass!! And the MM pickups are placed more sensibly than the music man HH (IMO)
5. I like your demo on this! so it can do the fairly low gain well! Being a distortion I assumed it would be very high gain, whereas I'm looking for a low gain tone enhancer/boost(I suppose that's the Darklighter) I believe there was a bass version which one is this? And the in/out is that really just gain and vol? I do like the idea of the clean blend on the Mini 66 though,so not sure!
6. I've got the 60's Aguilar pickups in my Nate Mendel!! It's a very smooth and refined sound with a present but not overpowering treble. Its vintage voiced but not boomy at all,the mids are very punchy and sounds amazing with the TI flats I have on it
7. I've too much outlay this month! So the Cioks will have to wait!! I've ordered a 1 spot and hopefully will solve the issue, till I can get something better!!
8. Confused!! Is this the envelope or chorus for sale if it's the chorus in the pic,I'd be interested.
9. I got one of these recently!! Very happy with it so far. It's a very versatile top notch head with a great tone plenty for power and still fairly light weight for a full fat head
10. If you fancy pushing the boat out! There's a glockenklang blue sky on here! Or the blue soul if you can find one. They both have two inputs and the ability to match the levels and switch oh and I think the Epifani 502 does too. Apologies I've just read the expensive bit-lol an EBS microbass 2 is good too
11. Has anyone tried the Heistercamp padded straps? I've been lusting after one for a while as they look gorgeous!! Not sure how padded they are. They are pricey but will be worth it I'm sure
12.
Should do yes: Before you splash the cash though, do you have any other 9v adapter in the house at all you can check to make sure it's definitely your power supply at fault?
no not since I sold my soul food!! The Diago was only meant to be temporary!! Five years ago when I use it without the daisy chain on its own,it's massively noisy!! Really bad earth hum!! I though my P bass was knackered at first
13. Ah good call!! I was looking at thehat last night on bass directs site,it's got more power than the diago too. Does it have a three pin plug though???
14. Currently bulking at the price of the DC 5 the Adam looks a cheaper option and I only need 9v (although I've a doubler on the Cali76) and still good. I'd have bought a fame DC8 but it's too big
15. 3 leaf proton or wonderlove if you've the cash
16. Yeah that effectrode was mine and one of the reasons I got rid was the powering being very specific. So that's good news as I'll get away with a DC5 rather than DC8
17. Cheers Dan Does the Cioks DC5 only power 5 pedals? Or can you add a daisy chain to the 300 ma outputs? The Diago power station is only 29mm deep! I wonder if that will work better
18. I've just taken the diago micro9 off the pedal board and tested it on its own with various single pedals and cables and the earth hum is still there. No noise at all straight into the amp. Looks like it's the culprit! I've had it from new for roughly 4-5 years and it's been fine powering between 8-12 pedals over time (currently 6 pedals) my patch cables are all fairly new OBBM van damme/hicon ones so I didn't think it was those. The box states up to 6,however it's 1000ma and I've always calculated the ma of my pedals and I've rarely used half so not sure if I've overloaded it! so any recommendations for an isolated fairly inexpensive replacement that will fit under a Pedaltrain metro 20? Preferably without having to drill. There is a fame one that looks like a copy of the Cioks DC8 but half the price! Anyone tried it? Cheers
19. That's very kind of you mace! However I've just this afternoon been testing my pedal board as it's started making a load of earth noise and it looks like I'm going to have to buy a new power supply which isn't going to be cheap id hoped it was a cable or the daisy chain leads. I'd certainly take you up on it otherwise as it's a cracking pedal .
20. Very tempted but not paid till the end of the month
