  1. I had this guitar made for me in Vietnam around 20 years ago. It has solid maple back and sides (with a slight flame) and a solid spruce top. Neck is maple with a rosewood fingerboard and ebony bridge pins. Nut and saddle are bone. I can't find any marks on the guitar but some of the photos reflect some light that appear as marks. The guitar was hand-made by one guy, although the gloss finish was completed by his cousin. It has a fitted passive Dean Markley Tahoe XM soundhole pickup. The sound has matured as only a guitar made from solid wood can. I'm happy for you to visit and try the guitar, but you'd need to bring an amp if you wanted to test the pickup. I'd also be willing to travel a reasonable distance it it helps. Cash on collection please.
  2. This guitar is not what it seems on first sight. Although it's a budget guitar, the electrics have been swapped for some fantastic pick ups and circuitry magic from Ironstone Pickups in the UK. I bought the guitar with the sole intention of fitting the David Gilmour pickups. The guitar itself plays well enough but the added features make for some brilliant possibilities. Here's a link to the magic... https://ironstone-guitar-pickups.co.uk/product/gilmour-scratchplate-pickguard/#reviews The back of the guitar had been polished industrially by its previous owner and I've done my best to restore it but the front has a great sunburst finish. There are a few dings that I've tried to show in the photos. It has a high action because that's how I like it but that could easily be brought down to your preference. It comes with a Ritter padded case. You're welcome to try it out but you'd need to bring an amp. Coffee provided to help you become Comfortably Numb... Cash on collection, but I'd be happy to travel a reasonable distance if it helps.
  3. This guitar is a genuinely hand-made instrument. The story behind it is that I was living in Vietnam a few years ago and was minus my guitar. I found a luthier who could make one to my specifications and was genuinely stunned by the quality of workmanship and sound. I then went rather silly and designed and bought several fantastic guitars from him as they were extremely cheap compared with the ones I could get made in the UK or USA. Just one guy made the whole guitar, the only thing he didn't do was provide the finish which in this case is matt. This particular guitar was lent to a top British blues guitarist for a tour. He decided that he preferred the guitars he already owned, so it came back to me and I used it for several years. I had fitted a Takamine CT4B-II Active Preamp with a Fishman under saddle pick-up for him. It has all solid mahogany back and sides with a solid spruce top, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. The bridge and pins are ebony with a bone nut and saddle. It is now nearly 20 years old, so the wood has matured nicely. The inlays are Abalone, not Mother of Pearl and the machine heads are Grover. Many professional players played my guitars and the overwhelming opinion was that they sounded as good or better than instruments with famous names on the headstock. My advice is to listen with your ears, rather than your eyes. I still gig three of these guitars in various guises today. Now, the sad news. The neck has developed a slight twist. For me it's still very playable, but it's only fair to point this out before you consider buying. A luthier may well be able to correct it, I've not made any enquiries. I've tried to show this in the photos. There is a slight marking on the back where I've played it. This is just superficial and in the photos, I seemed to have made it look worse than it really is. I sold several similar guitars for £699, without the electrics. It's now time to part company and I'd like to think the next owner will own it for a similar amount of time. I'm happy for you to come and try it, but you'd need to bring an amp to check out the electrics. I'd be willing to travel a reasonable distance if it helps and it will have to be cash on collection. I can provide an independent review of a similar guitar if you're seriously interested in buying.
  4. What's not to like about this guitar..? Perfect for posing at home in front of the kids to confirm what they already know about you. Or just pull it out from behind the amp at your next gig for instant Glam Rock adulation. It's in excellent condition and sounds surprisingly good through an amp. I think it's 3/4 size but the frets are easily big enough to handle my sausage fingers. Comes with a soft case and I even found a pitch pipe inside that I didn't know I had. Talk nicely and it's included in the price. Cash on collection please. Go on, you know you want to....
  5. This is a great Uke that sounds superb acoustically with the advantage of being able to plug it into the PA at your next O2 gig. It's in excellent condition with no marks or dings and comes in a hard case. The case has a couple of issues with seams parting and the handle is missing but it's easy to use a shoulder strap onto the existing fixings, which will keep your roadie happy. When used acoustically, the extra strings really help with volume and add a '12 string guitar' sound to the mix. When plugged into an electric thingy, it's remarkably feedback resistant. Not much else to add really, come and try it out. I'm based in Hampshire, but will travel a reasonable distance to meet you if that helps. Cash on collection please.
  6. I bought this Laka by Vintage Ukulele about 4-5 years ago but sadly I haven't used it as much as I thought I would. Sound familiar..? It has an active PU, using a 9V battery fitted into the back of body. It has nylon strings so it gives a pretty good representation of a ukulele sound when amplified. There are other electric ukes out there that have steel strings and PU's similar to those used in guitars. Horses for courses. I used it in my uke band and it always gave a great sound through a PA. It is in almost perfect condition, the only blemish is a small dink on the rear which I've shown in the photos. It comes with a quality padded case and a few spare strings. I know you're hovering over the 'Buy Now' button so to help swing your decision, I'll include a rather smart red strap. See, didn't that make things easier...? Collection only, I'm Hampshire based but would be prepared to travel a few miles to meet you. Cash on collection please. Great for practising your Angus Young licks...
  7. Hi Patrick and thanks for your interest. I can't send it using the PO as they won't insure musical instruments. It would be best if you can arrange a courier to collect from here. I can take Paypal. Cheers
  8. Thanks for the quick reply Ped. And Two House Points for your help..!
  9. I really need to sell this, please come and take it off my hands... Merci Beaucoup..
  10. I'm sure this is one of those simple to answer questions. As long as you know the answer..! I can edit the text of my ad, but how do I drop the advertised price...? Cheers Graham
  11. **PRICE DROP** NOW £40... I bought this keyboard from Andertons in October 2020 for a project that didn't happen. https://www.andertons.co.uk/alesis-q49-49-key-usb-midi-keyboard-controller I took it out of the box, checked it was working and put it back again. It came out again yesterday for the photographs so it's in 'as new' condition. It comes with the original packaging and documentation. I'd prefer collection in person or by your courier but could deliver, subject to COVID restrictions. I have several appointments in Southampton over the next few weeks so maybe that would work for you.
  12. Selling my Firehawk unit. It's in superb condition and I really cant find any blemishes at all. It works exactly as it should and includes the power supply. I'll also include the printed Pilot's Guide. I've loved using it but now playing more acoustic and I have all the toys I need on my mixer. Collection preferred but willing to drive a reasonable distance. Graham
  13. I'm selling my very rare Washburn Electro-Acoustic Guitar. I'm currently near Southampton and willing to travel a reasonable distance to deliver. It has a solid cedar top and the most fantastic Birdseye Maple back and sides. I have an idea that the back and sides are also solid, but I can't confirm this. The reason it's very rare is because I've never seen another one like it (despite extensive searching) and Washburn have not been able to explain why it has this combination of tonewoods. All others in the range have Rosewood back and sides. Here is a link to their original publicity and on page 10, you can see the technical specifications. https://www.washburn.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/Washburn1993Acoutics.pdf Washburn are unable to date it precisely but looking at the serial number, I think it was built in 1994. I bought it around 1995 so that would probably confirm the date. It's in fantastic condition, with just extremely small blemishes which in no way affects the playability or sound of the instrument. If you look very closely at the photo you can just see a very small area where the lacquer has worn between the 12th and 14th fret. There is also a very small area between the pickguard and the cutaway where the lacquer has worn. There is a tiny dent on the top, near the lower bout. It's so small it doesn't show up on a photo...! It is an unusual guitar for several reasons, not least is because it come with a 1/4" output jack, which is post EQ, and an XLR out if you want to go straight to the desk and bypass the Equis ll built in preamp. It comes with a dedicated hard case.
  14. Thanks to Stingray64, I have now solved this problem...
  15. Hi Stingray Thanks very much, if it looks like the one in my photo I'm sure it will be ok. I'll contact you in the morning.. Graham
  16. I have a Line 6 Firehawk FX with the plug adapter for the UK. But as I live in France, it's a pain..! I'd like to swap the adapter part for the European two pin version. I think all Line 6 units ship with both. Would any of you kind BC'ers care to swap...? Thanks in advance Graham
  17. Hi Stewblack.. Where did you find the manual...?
  18. The first multi FX unit from Harley Benton, available from Thomann.... https://www.thomann.de/gb/harley_benton_dnafx_git.htm It seems to be their take on the Mooer GE150. It appears to have all the usual stuff we have come to expect from these type of pedals that have become so popular in recent years. This one also comes at a very attractive price. We all know how the HB brand operates and this unit seems to follow the trend It's only just been announced, so I can't find much info about it on the web, not even an owners manual. I've been eying up the Line 6 Pod GO, but this might change my thinking. Anyone have any further info to share...?
  19. Now also £399 at Andertons. That makes the HX Stomp, the HXFX and the Pod Go all around the same price. I've been hankering after the Stomp for a while, but the Pod might be more suited for me...
  20. In a previous life, I worked as a sound engineer at a venue in the UK. It would have been mid 90's when a band turned up with four keyboards and a drummer with an electronic kit. As usual, I gave them time to set their stage and then wandered over to cable up. I remember thinking to myself, they're just sat around here relaxed and they haven't even bothered to bring their amps on stage..! This was my first real introduction to IEM. They did their own mix on stage and required only one mic for chatting to the audience, no vocals for the songs. It was one of the easiest gigs I've ever done. I went on stage during the soundcheck (having turned off FOH) and the only noise was the drummer hitting the pads. Quite surreal... And no mike bleed from coughs, sneezes and farts...! Getting back to the thread, I've been using an amp and vocal processor for a couple of years now. I haven't used an amp onstage for years. I recently bought a Line 6 module for amp sim and use it with either my Bose array pa or an RCF powered cab, the ART 310a. I can easily switch from acoustic to electric guitar. OK, time to fess up, I dont play bass.!! It's been a revelation to me, much easier to pack in the car and much more consistency at the gig. It's a million miles from you guys with Kemplers and Helix, but it works for me. Great thread by the way..!
  21. Robert Plant and Alison Krauss produced one of my favourite albums, Raising Sand...
